RfC about German nobiliary titles

I request comments at Wikipedia:Village_pump_(proposals)#RfC_regarding_German_nobiliary_titles Should German nobiliary titles inside names be clarified with the footnote text provided by {{German title}} or with the template User:Joe vom Titan/German title hatnote or another way? Feel free to suggest changes to either template, regarding the text or the template parameters. If it is to be a footnote, there's also the question whether to place it right after the title, after the name or at the end of the sentence. Agfa

Agfa is a very notable company with a very rich history in its field of imaging during the 20th century film. However the article in English is quite lacking and poor. I have put notes for it needing to be rewritten for quality purposes but it can also do with a translation from the German page which is very well detailed and covers the company. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ~2026-46345-65 (talk) 01:14, 27 August 2026 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Wolfgang Jonas

The article Wolfgang Jonas has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Tagged for notability concerns for over 8 years. No other language has a reliably sourced article from which to translate. Poorly sourced BLP. Created by a SPA with 62 edits, still an orphan after being tagged for almost 4 years.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion based on established criteria.

If the proposed deletion has already been carried out, you may request undeletion of the article at any time. Bearian (talk) 18:13, 5 September 2026 (UTC)

Review request: Liselotte Welskopf-Henrich

I have recently expanded Liselotte Welskopf-Henrich, the biography of the East German novelist and ancient historian whose novels centre on the Oglala Lakota and who supported the American Indian Movement. I have a disclosed conflict of interest (see Talk:Liselotte Welskopf-Henrich) and will make no further substantive edits. A review by uninvolved editors would be welcome. HCR24 (talk) 01:21, 7 September 2026 (UTC)

A sourced edit request is now open at Talk:Liselotte Welskopf-Henrich#Edit request: additions from the September 2026 Süddeutsche Zeitung profile; review by uninvolved editors welcome. HCR24 (talk) 20:03, 22 September 2026 (UTC)

Request for Participation in Splitting Paul von Hindenburg

Due to concerns about the excessive length of the article on Paul von Hindenburg, a consensus was reached last month at its talk page to split it into 2 new articles. In another discussion held earlier this month, it was agreed that these two prospective pages would be named as follows: Third OHL (1916-1918) and Presidency of Paul von Hindenburg (1925-1934). Given the size of this task, I was writing to see whether any members of WikiProject Military History would be interested in helping create these new pages: both of which concern a figure (i.e. Hindenburg) who is within the scope of this project. Thank you for your consideration. Emiya1980 (talk) 00:23, 22 September 2026 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Improvisationstheater DRAMA light

The article Improvisationstheater DRAMA light has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unsourced for 15 years. No other language has an article from which to translate; the German language article has been deleted. Less than zero assertions of notability: "a small theatre group".

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Category:Articles lacking sources from June 2019

There are an extraordinary number of German-related articles that have been tagged as unsourced for over 7 years. These include several articles about Alpine skiing, and dozens of articles about geographic locations in Germany. This hasn't been a problem until early 2025, when our critics, including powerful men from Boca Chica to Palm Beach, started to advocate for any excuse to take away our charitable status, which would cripple us financially. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Unreferenced articles has had several backlog drives, but this one remains. Could you folks please help to reduce the backlog of unsourced articles? Bearian (talk) 11:51, 27 September 2026 (UTC)

There are many good reasons to help with unsourced articles, but political threats about the charitable status of the WMF in the United States are not among them. —Kusma (talk) 12:43, 27 September 2026 (UTC)

Actually, it is a great reason. Bearian (talk) 10:56, 20 October 2026 (UTC)

It has absolutely nothing to do with anything. No one is proposing to revoke charitable status from Wikipedia because some articles do not have clear footnotes. In solidarity, asilvering (talk) 17:07, 20 October 2026 (UTC)

Request: uninvolved editor for a draft biography (COI declared)

Hello, I am Sebastian Frankenberger and have a declared conflict of interest, so I would prefer not to submit an article about myself. I have prepared a translation of the German article de:Sebastian Frankenberger (former federal chair of the Ecological Democratic Party and initiator of the 2010 Bavarian smoking-ban referendum), updated and sourced with 19 references, at User:Sebastian.frankenberger/Sebastian Frankenberger. Would an uninvolved editor be willing to review it and, if they think the subject meets WP:GNG, take it forward via WP:AFC? I will not edit the article directly. Thank you. Proposed deletion of List of Germans of Polish origin

The article List of Germans of Polish origin has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
