schizophrenia under fourth FA review
[edit]I have nominated Schizophrenia for a featured article review here. Please join the discussion on whether this article meets the featured article criteria, or help improve the article. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. If substantial concerns are not addressed during the review period, the article will be moved to the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Delist" in regard to the article's featured status (see review instructions). Request for help implementing a reviewed COI draft — Matthew Formston
[edit]Hello,
I have a declared conflict of interest — I work on behalf of the subject — and I have not edited the article directly. I'm posting here on the advice of Spintendo, who suggested broadcasting to the WikiProjects listed on the article's talk page. I'm also posting this at WikiProject Australia and WikiProject Cycling.
Article: Matthew Formston Proposed replacement: User:BreeContributes/sandbox
Matthew Formston is a vision-impaired Australian para-athlete: four-time World Champion para surfer, ten national cycling titles, and a Member of the Order of Australia. The current article is Start-class, outdated, and thinly sourced.
The draft has been through several rounds of review since November 2025 and every substantive objection raised has been addressed: inline citations added, bare URLs converted to {{cite web}} templates, promotional wording removed, and factual errors corrected. Sources include The Guardian, AFP/France 24, the International Paralympic Committee, the International Surfing Association, the Governor-General of Australia, Paralympics Australia and Vision Australia.
Most relevantly: Estar8806, an uninvolved editor, reviewed the draft in May 2026, made copyedits to it, read the earlier talk page discussions, and said they thought it was fairly neutral as it stands. For transparency, I've also messaged him today to ask whether they'd be willing to action it themself.
The request was subsequently closed on 9 June 2026 as declined for inactivity rather than on the merits — no editor responded within the window.
So what I'm asking for is not another review, but implementation: would an editor be willing to look over the sandbox and, if satisfied, action the replacement? I'm also glad to break the draft into a series of smaller individually sourced edit requests if that's easier to process piece by piece — just let me know which you'd prefer.
Thanks very much for your time. BreeContributes (talk) 01:21, 17 August 2026 (UTC)
- @BreeContributes IMHO The draft should simply be WP:MERGEed into the existing mainspace article. AFC generally simply declines to review drafts that duplicate existing articles because improving existing articles is outside of the role of the AFC process. - Thanks Roger — that's helpful, and it explains why this has gone nowhere. I'll drop the draft-review framing and post a series of individual
{{edit COI}}requests on Talk:Matthew Formston instead, each one a discrete sourced change. Appreciate you taking the time. ~~~~ BreeContributes (talk) 10:12, 27 August 2026 (UTC)
