Dual citizenship categories
[edit]I just saw that the French-language edition has a whole tree of categories about dual citizenship.
- w:Category:Multiple citizenship
- people with dual citizenship per country w:fr:Category:Personnalité possédant une double nationalité par nationalité
- footballer with dual citizenship w:fr:Category:Footballeur possédant une double nationalité
- Italian-Brazilian footballers w:fr:Category:Footballeur italo-brésilien
- Belgian-Greek peoples w:fr:Category:Double nationalité belgo-grecque

Help needed with the official guidelines
[edit]Hi, in "Category:Fair trade", there are many articles starting with "Fair trade..." and sorted as such. Should they actually be sorted according to their other title words since the whole category is about fair trade? For example, should fair-trade coffee be sorted under C and fair-trade debate under D? Thanks! — TARDIS builder✉ ★ 13:15, 25 August 2026 (UTC)
- It's a fair question. Normally, if a cat is dominated by articles all sorting under the same letter, I'd say yes - look at all the categories for churches where instead of them mostly being under S for St Anne (or whoever), they're under A for Anne, B for Belinda, etc. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 13:41, 25 August 2026 (UTC)
- @Redrose64, that inference makes sense to me – I will do that. Thanks, — TARDIS builder✉ ★ 13:57, 25 August 2026 (UTC)
- @Redrose64 In church-specific categories they are often sorted by placename: see eg Category:Grade I listed churches in Lancashire! PamD 15:30, 25 August 2026 (UTC)
- I know, and that is itself an oddity. If it's a category of churches named after a particular saint, it might be logical. But St Michael's Church, Aughton has
{{DEFAULTSORT:Aughton, St Michael's Church}}which ought to be{{DEFAULTSORT:Saint Michael's Church Aughton}}. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 20:31, 25 August 2026 (UTC)

Redirect appearing in category page
[edit]Me again! In [[Category:Fair trade]], the redirect of one of the pages I've moved has remained in the category (here). But I've moved a few other pages in the same category, and their created redirects didn't linger in that category. I've checked its source code and all seems to be well. What gives? How to fix? — TARDIS builder✉ ★ 14:28, 25 August 2026 (UTC)
- User:TARDIS Builder. You didn't move that page. An IP redirected it back in 2022 here. --DB1729talk 15:57, 1 October 2026 (UTC)
Category tree question
[edit]I'm trying to figure out the appropriate boundary for a category like Category:Maritime culture - should it include Category:Culture by island, which includes broad topics such as Culture of Manhattan, Culture of Ireland, Category:Culture of Sicily, and Category:Culture of Oceania? Those cultures include maritime aspects, but I wouldn't consider them to be within the concept of "maritime culture". I already removed Category:Seafood from Maritime culture since it seemed too broad for that, but I'm not even sure that was correct. Dreamyshade (talk) 17:59, 6 September 2026 (UTC)

11/20 not Austrian. The category doesn't seem to be categorizing properly. Joe vom Titan (talk) 22:04, 29 September 2026 (UTC)
