Huge problem, semi-vandalism

[edit]

This is a huge problem is someone is taking out destinations from airport articles. Soon, the lists will be unreliable.

I am willing to help. Also do you know which editor is doing this?

@Vanguard10: I don’t disagree with you in the slightest. I’m not one to name other editors, but it isn’t hard to find if you go through the edit history of certain airport pages. Like I said, I don’t disagree and don’t see the problem with just dropping CN tags on routes until a source is found but unfortunately it is policy. I’ve been meaning to get around to Haneda Airport since that list has been gutted but haven’t had time yet. But appreciate any help! VenFlyer98 (talk) 23:55, 11 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Is an airline or Expedia search not accepted. For example, search delta.com flight status for today's ATL-PBI / ATL-DJT flights. Or ATL-DJT (PBI) book a flight on Expedia?
As far as policy. Policy allows "citation needed" so deleting it is a specious excuse, not policy. Deleting a sentence should be for inappropriate things, not reasonable things. Vanguard10 (talk) 15:28, 12 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Is it Danners430?
What do you think of the following plan?
1. identify who it is and what is the behavior.
2. do a thoughtful study of what the policies are.
3. Carefully consider what plan to do.
Are the changes that he or she doing so numerous that the person should be told to stop? The criteria should be similar to a temporary restraining order, which are that the damage is irrepairable (or would take huge amounts of time and effort to fix). the likelihood of success for a proposed action of repair (such as citation needed) is high.
Also, that user says in edit comments that looking it up online for flighs is not acceptable. This should be clearly studied. The reality is a press release is often slighty unreliable, like American Airlines Seattle-Bangalore; many press releases, flight never started.

(talk page watcher) You do realise that talk pages are on my watchlist too...? It's exceedingly bad form to discuss editors behind their backs without notifying them.
The policies are very simple. WP:V states Any material that needs an inline citation but does not have one may be removed. Due to how bad these destination lists have become, that is what I'm using to establish a "basline" - the absolute vast majority of airport articles very rapidly "bounce back" with reliable sources... which is what the list should have been all along.
In terms of plans - first, stop discussing editors behind their backs. Second, if you have a concern with conduct, take it up with either myself in person, or take it to the appropriate noticeboard. Danners430 tweaks made 16:00, 12 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
I did not notify you because I did not know that you were the cause of trouble. I only knew that one user was causing trouble. Thank you for admitting your role. I am not being sarcastic. Full disclosure, like your admission of being the issue, is helpful.
There is a citation needed tag. [citation needed] The fact that this cn tag has not been banned or eliminated shows that it has value. Your interpretation is to remove the information then hope that someone else will repair it by re-inserting the information and providing a citation. That is extremely labor intensive because it involves repairing destruction. A [citation needed] tag is a much more time efficient method.

Salt Lake City airport

[edit]

Hi there, good evening. I wanted to thank you for updating the American Airlines destinations for SLC. I just wanted to point out that the flight to MIA now operates year-round; the frequency varies—sometimes five flights a week, then daily, and on some dates, twice daily—so it is no longer seasonal. I also noticed that the Air Canada flight from YYZ to SLC is returning in June 2027 using A223 aircraft, rather than the Rouge service used this season. Alaska has cancelled its flight to STS, so only Delta will be operating that route now. Thanks a lot, and have a good evening.

Hey buddy, you managed to avoid other airlines, but not the ones I recommended. Rafav16 (talk) 16:19, 5 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Air Canada YUL-RSW

[edit]

Hello, I noticed you removed Fort Myers from the list of Air Canada destination in the Montreal airport page because it does not source that the flight is resuming, however you stated yourself that it does indeed show that there is a flight, so what excacty is the problem?

@Alexcaban: Hi, sorry for the late response. The reason is the source violates WP:SYNTH. While it shows there is a flight, nothing about it mentions the route beginning/resuming. Thus, it’s SYNTH. Also, please remember to sign your Talk Page messages. Thanks! (VenFlyer98 (talk) 21:49, 16 October 2026 (UTC))Reply

Hartsfield-Jackson Airport

[edit]

If you disagree with my edit, why not put it as “suspended” until we have a specific date rather than reverting the edit? The information is outdated and the route does not start on October 23, 2026. Jobenhein (talk) 02:02, 13 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

If you are not aware, I edited a section of Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport in the Airlines and Destinations#Delta Air Lines section. It would make readers confused since the route does not start on the 23rd due to the air strike at RUH.
The airports manual of style does not explicitly how to handle a future route that has been postponed without a confirmed starting date. My edit was intended to accurately reflect Delta’s currently announced plans rather than present an outdated date.
I would appreciate clarification on how this situation should be handle under the manual of style. Jobenhein (talk) 02:11, 13 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
Oh, I see. It appears that you removed the route altogether. Thank you for clarifying. Jobenhein (talk) 02:12, 13 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

SYNTH source removal

[edit]

Hi, noticed your removal of a SYNTH source at Richmond International Airport - you may be interested in the discussion currently ongoing at WP:RSN regarding booking engines as sources for routes, since I also believe these constitute SYNTH (and to a degree OR). @Danners430: Thanks for the heads up as always, Danners! Good to know of that discussion and in agreement with you. (VenFlyer98 (talk) 21:35, 19 October 2026 (UTC))Reply
