Hello! I am the "owner" of this account, which has apparently been making nonsense edits for some reason (and apparently for some time, although very low in volume). I did not make those edits, and in fact that account is for a school computer with IP restrictions that ordinarily prevent us from editing entirely. Somehow though, those edits were made. How is that IP account able to edit, and is the IP compromised somehow? Weirdly, I think the articles that were edited are articles I have visited before using that IP.

- Edits recorded under an IP address are not tied to any account. The only edits in your name are those you make when you're logged in, so the most sensible explanation is that another person with the same IP address made those edits and either does not have an account or was not logged in. Based on what you're saying, they may have accessed Wikipedia from another computer – it is possible that the entire school network uses a single IP address (as was the case for my former high school).
- Regarding IP restrictions, your IP address has never been blocked from editing . Any restrictions on your school computer imposed by the local network administrator are outside our purview.
- That said, nothing appears to be compromised, so you're in the clear. Cheers, Complex/Rational 02:59, 25 September 2025 (UTC)
