Hello User:Thilio, I just seen you have been assigned as my mentor. I am fairly new to Wikipedia although I see myself as fairly technically literate. I have been editing a few articles on UK Applied Mathematicians. I started one Draft:William Lionheart and perhaps unwisely used an AI to help me draft it and it did help a lot with the sytnax. But I clearly hit the wrong tone and it got relegated to drafts. I then put a lot (maybe too much!) effort in to finding reliable sources and using tools to make cite templates for them etc. I was really only intending to make a 'stub' biography but now feel, although I learnt a lot, I put too much effort in and it would have been better if people who knew more about the subject and how to write a Wikipedia biography had joined in. As it sits in drafts, is it likely that no one will find it and help now anyway, at least for ages? I would like to create at least a start on new mathematician biographies that seem to be missing, but this experience put me off a bit and I wonder if I should just concentrate on improving those that are already started? Thanks for any suggestions. I know also I need to read more about policy of articles about living people. I know we need to be careful to use things that are reliably sourced. Hello @thilio
Thank you for offering yourself as a helper for my new article. I'm new to wikipedia, and I know there are so many guidelines to follow. I've been working on this article and got it rejected a couple times and reworked it. I'm looking for some sincere help, and constructive feedback. I'm very open to make any changes needed
I understand there is some misunderstanding about my Jake Silvia Racing page. It is a real team, yes we are a small team but we are real. If you could provide me with feedback on how to improve my page or update me on guidelines that would be great but rest assured we are a real team from Rhode Island. Denado1 (talk) 02:15, 15 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Denado1 Since you are directly connected to (Draft:Jake Silvia Racing) please take a look at Wikipedia’s guidance here (Conflict of Interest (COI)). It’s usually better for people with a close connection to a topic to suggest changes on the talk page rather than editing directly to help keep things neutral.
For the draft to move forward it will need (independent, reliable references) that give significant coverage of the team. Primary sources like your website or social media don’t carry much weight on Wikipedia. Please I suggest you to see referencing guide its explains how to add citations properly and what kinds of sources are best.
Improving your draft with solid third party sources will give it a better chance of being accepted when it’s eventually submitted for review. 🐍 Thilio🤖07:18, 15 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
Alright, what would I do if I happen to not find anything online as we are a very small team in the Northeast? Brand exposure is very important in our racing scene and this was one of the things on our list... Who would you suggest make the page and what should my next steps be? Denado1 (talk) 21:09, 17 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Denado1 The first things that popped up when I searched for Jake Silvia Racing in search engines were Facebook, Instagram & some self-published websites like DriverDB.
As you said, Brand exposure is very important in our racing scene and this was one of the things on our list. The first step I suggest is to focus on online exposure through local or verified interviews (e.g BBC News or other reliable local news outlets). After that collect all your references.

Hi Thilio,
Thanks for your comment on the Teahouse today. I read your profile and am really impressed by the different groups that you're a part of. I even added myself to the Feedback Request Service group.
My primary aim to come to Wikipedia has been to fight Vandalism. I see you have a lot of userboxes, stating you use Twinkle, and that you're part of SVT, among many other things.
As a newcomer, I was wondering if you have any recommendations/suggestions for me about how and where to begin so that I can contribute to antivandalism effectively.
@Kingsacrificer Thanks a lot for your kind message and welcome again! It’s great to hear that you are interested in contributing to anti-vandalism work, that’s one of the most valuable things new editors can do and it’s always encouraging to see more people joining it.
Here's few suggestions to get started...
A good place to begin is the Recent changes feed you can keep an eye out for obvious vandalism (nonsense, bad faith edits and so on) and revert it. Also since you mentioned Twinkle that’s a great start. It makes reverting and warning editors much easier.
Learn common warning levels: Wikipedia uses a system of escalating warnings for vandalism (from level 1 to 4). Twinkle can handle these automatically but it’s good to understand what each level means. If you come across persistent vandals you can report them at Administrator intervention against vandalism.
Sometimes it’s easy to get frustrated at repeated vandalism but keeping communication polite and assuming good faith when possible helps a lot.
Thanks for the detailed response. I checked all the sources you mentioned.
I went to the Recent changes feed. Seems like there is an active bot that does most of the 'reverting' for cases of obvious vandalism. I scoured through the list, found only one instance worth reverting (wouldn't even call it obvious vandalism but it was an unnecessary change) and reverted it.
I tried enabling Twinkle but I'm not autoconfirmed as my account is only 2 days old. I also checked the WP:Antivandal tool, but it seems to have the same restriction. I will look into both the tools soon.
The CVA sounds like a very good opportunity, but it recommends that a user makes atleast 200 edits before teaming up with a trainer. I have only made around 100 edits, and a lot of them are talk page edits as well so I don't know if they count.

Hoi, the reaction is as expected. It is one of the reason why I hardly ever edit Wikipedia anymore. Consider your response, it is about form not substance. Given the sheer economic relevance of what the substance is. Impact on people, economic impact for the economy of countries given that there external sources for African subjects are hard to come by, given that there is an external document confirming the impact, I respectfully disagree with the notion that this is advertisement. @GerardMthe reaction is as expected. It is one of the reason why I hardly ever edit Wikipedia anymore. Consider your response, I'm sorry, I know how hard you've worked on Draft:Sun King (company), moving it back to draftSpace doesn't mean your work is rejected it's just that to alert you to add more effort improving it, currently the DRAFT reads like a promotional piece rather than a neutral encyclopedic entry not only that it also lacks independent, reliable sources to verify claims (most references are primary, from the company itself) also you need to do some minor fixes like Bare Urls, and Citing the sources in right sentences, see HOW TO CITING SOURCES. Again, I'm sorry. Please don't let this be one of the reasons why you hardly edit Wikipedia anymore. Focus on improving the draft quality and then resubmit it for AfC review. Thanks. Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Hello Thilio, me again! I had added 4 photos in total (with some difficulty, since I had not done this before) to the All the President's Elephants page, which had been previously uploaded to Wikipedia by the owner of these photos - ie by head of the Production Company of the documentary, Mr Bergh from Triosphere - for free use. They all had descriptions. A bot has now removed 3 of these photos and I don't understand why. Are you able to shed any light on this for me? Thank you once again. (Is there a limit on the amount of photos that can be used on a page? Where they uploaded incorrectly? Did I do something wrong?) WikiAdd01 (talk) 23:59, 19 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
Additional info - I will ensure that the CEO of South African Production Company, Triosphere - Oloff Bergh - who has already given a signed permission-to-use letter for any of their photographs that were previously taken during documentary filming (apparently not worded correctly for Wiki), to write/send a different appropriately worded Email to Wiki for all of the photos that were previously added to this article (and then deleted), so that they can be uploaded again. Hi Thilio, in the age of AI, the "ROBOT" text (and arguably the emoji too, but mostly the text) looks like a disclaimer that your message came from a bot. Especially when you patrol recent changes and review article drafts, I think this is a too-likely and too-problematic impression on the recipients. Would you mind using a less confusing signature? ~ ToBeFree (talk) 22:12, 21 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
Thank you! I think I'd make sure "Thilio" appears in it somewhere but that's not required and I see that Confused Spirit is just a translation of the name, so arguably your signature even already contains your username. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 14:38, 22 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than half a month of outstanding reviews from the current 2+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 December 2025 through 31 December 2025.
Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.
There is a backlog of over 3000 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help!

Hello, I noticed that you reverted a temporary account, ~2025-39518-33(talk·contribs), two days ago: Special:Diff/1326512329, and this was marked as a rollback and AntiVandal edit. But these are the two edits you reverted, the only two performed by that temporary account: Special:Diff/1326507822 and Special:Diff/1326512213, which combined together changed the wikilink dilettante to dilettante. The merits of this could I suppose be debated, though I would argue these edits were a marginal improvement. More to the point, I didn't see any reason to believe these were rollback-worthyvandalism edits. In case I'm missing some context here, would you be willing to explain this use of rollback? Thank you, both for your anti-vandalism work and for your time! —JohanBrahm (talk) 01:50, 11 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Johan Brahm That's not strictly vandalism but it is an unhelpful and inappropriate change unconstructive Please read my level 1 warning on the Tempo account User Talk. dilettante sends readers off-wiki and it removes encyclopedic context (interwiki links to dictionaries ooh is generally discouraged) and the tempo account edit summary says The wrong description was showing for dilettante. It was showing amatuer, that's not wrong descip, dilettante is a Disambiguation for Amateur please see Dilettante. oh and also AntiVandal is designed to catch such unhelpful edits. Thank you. I noticed on the article I created Joekels, that you previously made some small edits. The article has now been marked as AfD, and I was wondering if it would be possible for you to assist in the voting discussion to help keep it up, and help improve the article further, so that it can improve and avoid deletion. These links that I have references are all reliable, independent sources, and well-recognised in South Africa as credible sources, so I'm not sure why it has been said that all the sources are promotional or company websites.

Hi there, and thanks for your help with NPP! I noticed you have recently created multiple stubs for English politicians. As I was reviewing them, I noticed a few were for people who already appeared to have a Wikipedia article (i.e., Edward Walpole (1621–1668) and Henry Waltham (d.1668)). I checked for these based on the disambiguators and found that the sources to the History of Parliament were the same for the new and existing articles. As you create new articles, please double check that we do not have existing articles. Thank you! Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 16:26, 13 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hello Thilio,
I noticed my draft “Draft:Shanmuganathan Vasanthapriyan” was declined. I have carefully rewritten the Early life, Academic career, and Research sections to remove any close paraphrasing and to follow neutral, encyclopedic style.
I would greatly appreciate it if you could kindly review the updated draft or provide guidance on any remaining issues.
@InfoNodeSL I am Sorry for the frustration this may cause I have reviewed the updated version but still shows similarities in structure and phrasing and the DRAFT continues to rely heavily on primary and affiliated sources. Please rewrite the DRAFT entirely from scratch without consulting the staff directory while writing and focus on independent, secondary sources. | title = ICT Educator of the Year 2022 - Award Announcement
May I confirm whether, for the purpose of assessing notability, Wikipedia considers only major national newspaper coverage as acceptable independent secondary sources? The draft already includes such newspaper articles, and I would like to understand if additional source types are required beyond these. InfoNodeSL (talk) 12:00, 19 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
@InfoNodeSL We do not require only major national newspapers other types of independent sources are also acceptable. Currently uo draft does not meet Notability criteria for Academics
1. The person's research has had a significant impact in their scholarly discipline, broadly construed, as demonstrated by independent reliable sources.
2. The person has received a highly prestigious academic award or honor at a national or international level.
3. The person has been an elected member of a highly selective and prestigious scholarly society or association (e.g., a National Academy of Sciences or the Royal Society) or a fellow of a major scholarly society which reserves fellow status as a highly selective honor (e.g., Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers or Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Physics).
The Awards section verified only with CSSL'S own publications (Which we call Primary sources).

I saw your comment on this draft and I am extremely disappointed by your contention that this draft should be "G5 deleted regardless of sources." I'm hoping you can provide guidance on my draft article. After the prior rejection, I asked AI to review the draft, and discovered my article has more independent references than peer articles that were previously approved. A few examples of many:
AI actually suggested that my article may actually have too many references, that would make it difficult to review!? As a new contributor, I don't know if that is even a real thing on Wikipedia? I just know the event itself is of high notability, especially relative to the standards previously established on Wikipedia for such events.
@Brodyking1970 I'm sorry for late reply.... I asked AI to review the draft, and discovered my article has more independent references than peer articles that were previously approved. A few examples of many... First Thank you for contributing on that Draft.... MY advice to you as new contributor please do not use or depend on AI.... Do not compare articles using AI what you should be doing is compare structures, see the way how they cited using Wikipedia guidelines. Currently your draft fails WP:EVENT. The current sources are routine event reporting which WP:EVENT explicitly says is not enough ALSO there is no independent analysis discussing "Why this specific 2024 edition is historically significant" ALSO even though the tone is not extreme the structure still READS like An official program AND a press release or lemme say an event report.... Please add INDEPENDENT secondary sources to explain why the event is notable beyond its OCCURRENCE. Thanks CONFUSED SPIRIT(Thilio).Talk07:31, 30 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

New Pages Patrol is hosting a one-time, two-month experimental backlog drive aimed at reducing the backlog. This will be a combo drive: both articles and redirects will earn points.
The drive will run from 1 January to 28 February 2026.
The drive is divided into two phases. Participants may take part in either phase or across both phases, depending on availability.
Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled during the drive.
Two-month drive-exclusive barnstars will be awarded to eligible participants.
Each article review earns 1 point, while each redirect review earns 0.2 points.
Streak awards will be granted based on consistently meeting weekly point thresholds.
Barnstars will also be awarded for re-reviewing articles previously reviewed by other patrollers during the drive.

Thank you for the feedback.
The article already includes references from Record, which is a Portuguese national daily sports newspaper with wide national circulation and independent editorial standards, and one of the most widely read sports newspapers in Portugal.
In addition to the sources already cited, there are further independent Record articles that provide broader coverage beyond simple results listings, including contextual reporting on the athlete’s development and competitive career.
This is my first article on Wikipedia, and I would greatly appreciate any guidance on what further improvements are needed to meet the notability criteria.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration. I hope these clarifications help address the concerns raised and allow the article to be approved. Salnaza (talk) 10:17, 2 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hope you're having a good day. I just received an alert from you regarding an article I created, as there is a draft copy and an article copy of the same subject. According to a notice on the article copy, I need an administrator to perform a merge between "Draft: AJ Gracia" and "AJ Gracia" articles. I originally titled the article "A.J. Hi,
I am a bit confused about your tag on one of the articles that I created. You said it needs more sources for verification, but then you also said it could be refbombed. Those are usually mutually incompatible things on such a short article. It meets WP:NBOOK. Lastly, you did not mark the page as reviewed yet, even though you said you reviewed it. I will move some sources up from the bottom as well now. Iljhgtn (they/them · talk) 00:41, 1 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Iljhgtn I tagged more sources needed and mentioned avoiding Notability bomb, I was talking about where the sources are placed, not how many there are, yep the article can meet WP:NBOOK, but it helps for sources verification when citations are added directly to the sentences they support, instead of being grouped at the end of of last section. I did review the page and left feedback but I didn't mark it as reviewed yet because I was waiting for those fixes.. Once theyre done I'm happy to mark it as reviewed. CONFUSED SPIRIT(Thilio).Talk01:39, 1 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
I updated the content section to include the ISBN book reference, the other ref are in reception where those citations should be. It is just a basic book article, so its got enough there I think to be reviewed for now, and more could be added to it in time if anyone wants. Thanks for your time and for looking at it. I really appreciate it. Iljhgtn (they/them · talk) 01:52, 1 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

NPP unreviewed article statistics as of February 02, 2026
Welcome to Phase 2 of the January–February 2026 NPP drive. During Phase 1, we reviewed 16,658 articles and 4,416 redirects, and there is currently a backlog of 16,475 articles and 23,782 redirects in the queue. Fantastic job! Completing 22,502 patrols in the first phase made a significant dent in the backlog. Let's keep our foot on the gas for Phase 2, and I hope we can achieve even more reviews than Phase 1. Best of luck!
A bad relist doesn't justify a bad closure. Why did you find the Keep votes more convincing, as that was the only way to close the 4 to 3 discussion in their favor? Kelob2678 (talk) 10:03, 23 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
@The Conservative Journalist sorry took me long to reply, i would have send you to read neutral point of view straight but simple brief explanations would do. editors as us, we don't write what we know or what we think we know, we write what comes with reliable sources or what reliable sources says. Also on other hand we do not take sides like for example if a topic has different views, we include all the important ones and give them spaces based on how much they appear in good sources. Also tones, like, no attacking words, no opinions and no praise words we keep clear factual lang. If something is a claim then attributes swop in AND we never add our own analysis. That all comes to everything must be verifiable. basically neutrality all bout sources, balance and careful words. Visit A primer for newcomers. CONFUSED SPIRIT(Thilio).Talk10:17, 25 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Thilio Thanks for responding. I now see what neutrality means. But, as I am looking at the evolution page, it doesn't seem that it is quite neutral. "All life on Earth—including humanity—shares a last universal common ancestor (LUCA), which lived approximately 3.5–3.8 billion years ago." We don't even know if this happened. This is mere view, not necessarily the truth...I'm not sure if this is a neutral point of view. It should say that it is a CLAIM, not state it like a fact. Nevertheless, it is locked, which means it a controversial topic. The Conservative Journalist (talk) 15:20, 25 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
@The Conservative Journalist: These are very interesting topics sometimes I also wonder but from my understanding, neutrality does not mean we say that THIS IS JUST A CLAIM when there is a strong scientific agreement and it gets backed up with Reliable sources. And thy idea of last universal common ancestor(LUCA) reflect the main stream scientific consensus in biology based on genetic and fossil evidence... Because it is widely accepted in reliable sources, that's why the article states it in a factual way. the Human evolution page get protected because of Vandalisms and the last universal common ancestor also get protected because disruptive editing only autoconfirmed or confirmed access can access it not because it is a biased. For you, if you think you need to improve something there, you can use their talk pages of Couse with reliable sources. Bonus, see Wikipedia:Everything you need to know. My article India at the Deaflympics is rated as start class because the reviewer claimed that it contained a lot of primary data. but now I have replaced all the primary data with secondary data. can you check if the article can be rated a C class or a B class. TheGreatEditor024 (talk) 19:51, 6 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
@TheGreatEditor024 that's great work you have been doing on that article, the reviewer is right the article has too many P sources. My advice for you is to replace all the Primary sources with indept reliable secondary sources, the tricky part is please also avoid WP:CITATION OVERKILL because the article seems to be heading in that direction. Other thing is, just keep working on improving the article don't worry too much about Content assessment for now, eventually other editors or reviewers will evaluate it as C class or B class if it fit the CA criteria. Excellent work, keep it up. cheers. CONFUSED SPIRIT(Thilio).Talk01:58, 7 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi, what articles should be included in the see also section? seems like it should include anything that is already linked to in the main body right? --Redpandatrans (talk) 21:24, 8 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Redpandatrans See also section should not include anything that is already linked to the main body. A see also section is only for related articles or let me say related Topics. for example, imagine a song title "Sky Is Blue" and the "See also" should be or include links like "List of songs about weather" or something like, "Blue color in music" and so on, since they are related topics. Read "See also" section. bonus, please read also A primer for newcomers. CONFUSED SPIRIT(Thilio).Talk16:44, 9 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Cloudfeve Heyyaa, I am glad you're here. OKAY. to add citation first open your Edit source then move the cursor after the sentence you want to cite. For example, The world is ending tomorrow.. inside the like that you're good to go. Also Read WP:Citing sources for more information on how to add or enter citations. another thing I recommend you read is A primer for newcomers. @The Conservative Journalist Actually basically there's no fixed time or timeline for editor to become admin, also it very rare for new editors to be elected because first thing first you need to gain experience maybe 1 year or 2 years or 5 years of experience and community trust. So I'm current just focusing on building that. As for that tips, what I have been doing like, contributing and learning policies well and also getting involved in areas like AfC, NPP, AfD and anti vandel. That helps build the experience needed for RfA. Not just those there are also areas like CSD tagging, RC patrol, copyediting and cleanup, adding reliable sources, expanding articles and so on. The most important thing is experience and building community trust. CONFUSED SPIRIT(Thilio).Talk08:32, 18 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hello Thilio,
I think we should remove a sentence in Claude (language model). It states:
Context: "According to the Wall Street Journal, the U.S. military used Claude in its 2026 raid on Venezuela."
Unrelated sentence: "While it isn't known to what capacity Claude was used, the operation resulted in the deaths of 83 people, 2 of which were civilians, and the capture of President Nicolás Maduro."
I removed the unrelated sentence, but another editor undid it, and said that I should get consensus on the talk page before removing it. I don't think that it is necessary for every edit, especially when removing unrelated info. That said, I would appreciate your feedback and/or support. --The Conservative Journalist (talk) 22:14, 23 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hello Mentor,
I hope you are doing well.
I would like to request an update to the page title from "Shivaji" to "Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj." This change would help improve accuracy and relevance, especially in Google Search results.
Additionally, this matter is sensitive for many people who have deep respect and faith in Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Keeping the title as just "Shivaji" may feel incomplete or even controversial to some readers.
I hope you understand my concern and kindly consider this request.
@OmJadhav1338: Heya, and welcome. I just want to say to you that on Wikipedia article titles are based on the most commonly used name in reliable sources. We have policies called WP:COMMONNAME and WP:TITLE (you should go and read them carefully). The honorific title like Chhatrapati or Maharaj, we do not add them unless they are part of the commonly used name in sources. The easiest way, if you believe that there is strong evidence that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is the common name in reliable sources, you should start a discussion at WP:RM (Requested Move venue) there editors can evaluate your proposal if they support the move, then it will be moved to the new nam if they oppose then it will not be moved. I also recommend you reading WP:A primer for newcomers It will help you for your journey HERE. CONFUSED SPIRIT(Thilio).Talk08:45, 31 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Draft:MC Shadow – request for guidance on improving sources
Latest comment: 7 months ago1 comment1 person in discussion
Hi Thilio,
Thank you for reviewing the draft and for the feedback I genuinely appreciate it.
I also noticed from your talk page that you’ve offered guidance to others working through AfC drafts, so I wanted to ask if you’d be open to pointing me in the right direction here.
I understand the issue is around meeting WP:GNG and the need for multiple independent sources with significant coverage. I want to make sure I’m interpreting that correctly and not just adding more of the wrong type of references.
Would you be open to continuing this on the draft’s talk page so I can improve it properly with your guidance?
I’m very open to revising structure, trimming content, or reworking sourcing, my goal is to get it right, not rush resubmission.

Dear Thilio,
I am formally requesting a reconsideration of your rejection decision for Draft:Lean Back (band). You stated that the subject does not meet inclusion criteria, but I believe the provided sources meet both WP:GNG and WP:MUSIC (NBAND) criteria.
Could you please specify which of the following independent secondary sources are considered unreliable or insufficient for verification:
Marek Jakubowski; Mariusz Szalbierz (1997). Encyklopedia Muzyki Popularnej. Blues w Polsce (in Polish). p. 130.ISBN83-85414-92-4.
Barbara Kołodziej (1999). "10 lat z Lean Back". Wiadomości Rudzkie (in Polish). No. 48(380). p. 4.ISSN1232-0560.
Furthermore, how do these sources differ in quality from those accepted for similar historical Polish ensembles, such as Tie Break (jazz ensemble)?
I believe a "cannot resubmit" status is inappropriate for a subject backed by indexed, printed publications (ISBN/ISSN) and 15 years of professional activity. I look forward to a specific evaluation of these sources.

We've been exchanging messages about the draft for: Draft:Staycation (TV series) After reading through the feedback, I've decided to make some changes and keep only the sections that can be properly referenced. I have added references to the episodes, premise, staycation sports, and the distribution section, as your last feedback requested.
Just wanted to let you know that I’ve added a few more sources and made some revisions to the draft since April. If you have a moment, I’d really appreciate any feedback on whether the article is moving in the right direction and is ready to submit.

Hello Thilio,
New Page Review queue November 2025 - May 2026
Backlog update
At the time of this message, there are 15,282 articles and 32,951 redirects awaiting review.
After the January–February drive the article backlog was reduced to 15,179 articles and the redirect backlog to 19,053 respectively. Great job! However, both queues are growing rapidly and any additional reviews are highly appreciated.
2024 and 2025 NPP Awards
JTtheOG was selected as the NPP reviewer of the year for both 2024 and 2025, for reviewing the most articles amongst all reviewers.
Hey man im josh and MPGuy2824 won the Redirect Ninja Master Award for 2024 and 2025 respectively, for reviewing the most redirects.
Overall in 2024, one Platinum, two Gold, eight Silver, 12 Bronze and 45 Iron Barnstars were awarded. Additionally, 66 reviewers got the NPP barnstar for doing more than 100 reviews through the year. In 2025, one Platinum, ten Silver, 13 Bronze and 38 Iron Barnstars were awarded. Additionally, 38 reviewers got the NPP barnstar for doing more than 100 reviews through the year.
The experimental two-month long backlog drive concluded with 183 reviewers patrolling over 27,761 articles and 35,309 redirects, earning over 36,836 points. Congratulations to JTtheOG, who achieved first place with 6,484.6 points in this drive.
An attempt was made to get the New Pages Feed to sort by date marked as reviewed instead of date created. However we had to revert it due to bugs. We may try again in the future. You can subscribe to the Phabricator ticket if you're interested in following along.

Heya. I'm just here to ask you if you are aware that you can type a built-in reply with the technical requests script (which automatically pings the requester), which is a lot more efficient than replying directly, then using the script to move the request to a different section. 1isall(talk|contribs) 00:39, 18 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
I tried using the script with auto Switch section and reply once but the text box is so narrow that I can't get enough out of it. Since then I've decided to go manual replying, now I'm using the script for removing and switching only. Old school. CONFUSED SPIRIT(Thilio).Talk01:23, 18 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
The next GAN backlog drive will be held in June and will be co-ordinated by four editors. It will be mainly targeted towards those who are new to reviewing.
@45dogs I shouldve used regex \{\{Chinese(\||\}\}) and {{Infobox Chinese$1 to find and replace only Chinese with Infobox Chinese without any extra words in front and paid more attention to the AWB preview. I really appreciated the stopping -- I wouldve broken a lot of temps, two hours of cleanup and revision, lesson learned. CONFUSED SPIRIT(Thilio).Talk03:38, 22 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Heya, we/I don't do reviews on demand. If you submit your draft and it's under the AfC log, you need to forget about it and do other things; eventually, it will be reviewed. But since this is your first draft, I will have a look. Please don't do that next time. CONFUSED SPIRIT(Thilio).Talk06:19, 24 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thilio - I am adding relevant information about the character of Ninotchka Rosca from the people who actually interacted with her. This is relevant in her public Wiki page because her public persona is predicated on her personal life -- her purported championing of women's rights, human rights, social justice. It is relevant for people to note that she voluntarily lived in the country that gave her asylum for decades after the fall of the dictatorship, and she had every opportunity to return home. Instead, she used her time in America to make a living off a personal that was no longer true: She was no longer a persecuted exile but a shrewd marketer of her past. This is relevant and I can personally vouch for this as I met and interacted with Ninotchka in New York City when she was active with Gabriela Network. I will remain anonymous. My allegations can be edited to claim qualify that "people who interacted with Rosca claim" but should not be delete unless Wikipedia has a bias for the subject. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Poseur Ninotchka (talk • contribs) 20:54, 28 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Poseur Ninotchka Heya, sorry for late reply I was doing a lot of tech task lately, I know how frustrating it was for your edit to be reverted, trust me, I know. what just I wanna tell you is that we work based on reliable published sources means that personal Xperiences and anonymous claims are NO NO. so If there are independent reliable sources discus/ing what you're saying, please attribute it/them in the article and no one will revert you. Another one important thing is, you need to read WP:COI, If you have a deep connection with the subject you should not update the article directly, use the article talk page to suggest for changes and experiences editors will update them. Also you need to declare that WP:COI in your User Page. CONFUSED SPIRIT(Thilio).Talk18:47, 29 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hello. Recent you carried out a page move of Sylvania Waters, New South Wales to Sylvania Waters as requested by Humontroup(talk·contribs) on the groups of WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. However, the page Sylvania Waters (TV series) actually has lifetime page views of over 135,000, while the suburb itself has only accumulated a total of 5,539 pageviews since it was created. The justification of WP:PRIMARYTOPIC cannot be invoked in a situation like this without community consensus, and in this case I believe the overwhelming result would be that the TV series is the more significantly notable subject. Thus, the disambiguation was and still is required per WP:NCAUST. Unfortunately, I am unable to revert the move, or to re-move it back to the original title myself. I wondered if you could please undo this move and if Humontroup could please take it through a Move Request discussion to gain community consensus if they are still claim it is the Primary Topic?

I know that it is məˈhɒmɛt from having lived in and traveled extensively through the state of Illinois and having heard that pronunciation used by locals. I wouldn't question you about local pronunciations of place names in your part of the world, and I find it frankly insulting that somebody from half a world away would have the temerity to question another poster who possesses local experience with the place in question. Could you also please take a look at the sourcing and notability of this organisation? Rashtriya Lok Aandolan From what I can see most of the coverage appears to revolve around Kalpana Inamdar rather than the organisation itself. It gives me the impression that the organisation may primarily be used to highlight or promote a particular individual rather than being the subject of substantial independent coverage in its own right.
If I am mistaken i would appreciate seeing sources that demonstrate significant in-depth coverage of the organisation itself as required by Wikipedia's notability standards. BriefLaw (talk) 09:39, 5 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hello: I have read the Teahouse material on citations. Even so, I am getting red text in my citations, so I suspect I am doing something wrong. Here are the inline citations I have added to the recent draft bio of Robert McQuilkin
On the book citations, there was no official place to add the Library of Congress permalink, so I placed it after the ISBN. Should I use the permalink instead of the ISBN? I think that will eliminate those red texts. I find it odd the name of the publisher is set off in double brackets, and no other category of information--or am I doing that wrong, too?

Hello Thilio:
WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive in August!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than a month of outstanding reviews from the current 3+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 August 2026 through 31 August 2026.
Hi, I have moved the page back to Amanda Soto. An admin closing an AFD can take any action they seem fit to enforce their understanding of the consensus. If you disagree or feel that the admin is wrong then you need to discuss with the admin or raise a DRV. What you should not do is move war without any discussion. Hi Thilio,
There is an ongoing Request for Comment (RfC) at Wikipedia:Good article nominations/August 2026 RfC, which you may be interested in because in the past year, you have nominated or reviewed more than one good article nomination. This message has also been sent to all subscribers to the Good Article Gazette. The RfC contains many proposals (33 at the time of writing), which are split into the following categories: nominators, reviewers, reviews, volunteer roles, reviewing initiatives, and others. However, you are more than welcome to add any proposals of your own that you wish to put to the community.
By the end of September, all the proposals will have been closed by an uninvolved editor, either as a consensus for one of the options or with no consensus. At this point, editors will be invited again to develop these proposals into coherent policy and implement them.

Hi. You relisted this AfD despite clear consensus for merging. If a participant doesn't name a page, that generally invokes WP:SILENCE, meaning they probably agree with the target stated by the nominator, in this case In God We Trust. Also, you ignored my !vote which explicitly cited a section of that article. Please undo this relist and allow it be closed by an administrator. Thanks. 11WB💬04:19, 17 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
@11WB I did see your !vote and my relist was not intended to disregard that, so since the discussion has now occurred after my relist (sorry, I was not active, sleeping:)), it would be better to leave it for an uninvolved closer than to reverse the relist retrospectively. Peace!! CONFUSED SPIRIT(Thilio).Talk11:16, 17 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
I agree, though I disagree with a relist in general. It was not an appropriate action to take after a consensus had already formed. Relists are not binding, meaning they can be closed before 7 days have elapsed. You are able to close it, though leaving it is probably the most realistic outcome now. 11WB💬16:45, 17 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Our pending drafts!
Hi Thilio, thanks for participating in the Articles for Creation August Backlog Drive! We've done amazing work so far, dropping the backlog by more than 3000 drafts already.
We have around 1300 drafts outstanding, and we need your help to get that down to zero in the next 10 days. We can do this, but we need all hands on deck to help make it happen – if everyone who signed up to the drive reviewed just 1–2 drafts a day for the next ten days, we'd be down to zero in no time! A list of the pending drafts can be found at WP:AFCSORT, where you can select submissions in your area of interest, or you can find a random submission here. Thank you so much for your work so far, and happy reviewing! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:20, 21 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
On 1 September 2026, a one-month backlog drive for new pages patrol will begin at a particularly important time for NPP.
The backlog has now passed 30,000 unreviewed articles, a level that has been described in current NPP discussions as exceptionally high and potentially difficult to overcome through normal reviewing alone. Backlog drives are one of the few measures that have historically produced a noticeable reduction in the backlog, so the participation of as many active patrollers as possible will matter this month.
If you can review during September, please make articles your priority. Every article that is reviewed is a meaningful reduction in the backlog. With the queue at its current size, even a relatively small increase in the number of articles each patroller reviews can add up to a substantial difference over the course of the month.
This is a hybrid drive, so redirect reviewing is still included. Redirects can be a useful way for newer patrollers to get comfortable with NPP and can help people build up to reviewing articles. However, the main goal of this drive is to tackle the article backlog, and experienced patrollers are particularly encouraged to spend as much of their available reviewing time on articles as they can.
Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled.
Each article review will earn 1 point, while each redirect review will earn 0.2 points.
Streak awards will be given out based on consistently hitting point thresholds for each week of the drive.
Barnstars will also be granted for re-reviewing articles previously reviewed by other patrollers during the drive.
If you have been thinking about doing more NPP, this is an especially good month to jump in. Whether you can review a few pages or hundreds, every review helps. And if you are already an active patroller, please consider whether you can put in some additional time during September to help bring the backlog back under control.

Hi Thilio
Just to note I've temporarily blocked your bot from editing WP:RM/TR, because it seems to have become confused and is persistently adding a "repeat request" notice with a link to earlier today on the same request. See .
I assume the reason is because there was earlier an accidental removal of that request only for it to be re-added again shortly afterwards and the bot thinks they're separate requests. Once the William DuBois item rolls off, or if you have any workaround, we can lift the block. Cheers —Amakuru (talk) 20:16, 30 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Amakuru would you please lift the block from ThilioBot since the William Dubois has already rolled off? I see that you have removed the following, along with it's source, which you somehow did not notice when reverting it. The administrator elections process has officially started! Qualified editors are encouraged to find at least one experienced nominator. Self-nominations are also allowed. Please review instructions at Wikipedia:Administrator elections/October 2026/Candidates.
Here is the schedule:
September 29–October 5: Nominations phase (we are here)
October 8–12: Discussion phase
October 13–19: SecurePoll voting phase
Please note the following:
The requirements to run are identical to RFA—a prospective candidate must be extended confirmed. However, in practice, few candidates succeed without ~10K edits, some content creation, no recent behavioral issues, and a nominator.
The process will have a seven day call for candidates phase, a two day pause, a five day discussion phase, and a seven day private vote using SecurePoll. Discussion and questions are only allowed on the candidate pages during the discussion phase.
The outcome of this process is identical to making a request for adminship. There is no official difference between an administrator appointed through RFA versus administrator elections.
Ask any questions about the process at the talk page. Later, a user talk message will be sent to official candidates with additional information about the process.
If you are interested in the process, please make sure to watchlist the appropriate pages. A watchlist notice will be added when the discussion phase opens, and again when the voting phase opens.
You're receiving this message because you signed up for the mailing list. To opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself from the list.
On 13 Oct, we will start the voting phase. The candidate subpages will close to public questions and discussion, and everyone will have a week to use the SecurePoll software to vote, which uses a secret ballot. You can see who voted, but not who they voted for.
Any questions or issues can be asked on the election talk page. Thank you for your participation. Happy electing.

October 13–19: SecurePoll voting phase (we are here)
Scrutineering phase
In the voting phase, the candidate subpages close to public questions and discussion, and everyone who qualifies to vote has a week to use the SecurePoll software to vote, which uses a secret ballot. You can see who voted, but not who they voted for. Please note that the vote totals cannot be made public until after voting has ended and as such, it will not be possible for you to see an individual candidate's vote total during the election. The suffrage requirements are similar to those at RFA.
Once voting concludes, we will begin the scrutineering phase, which will last for a few days, perhaps longer. Once everything is certified, the results will be posted on the results page (this is a good page to watchlist), and transcluded to the main election page. In order to be granted adminship, a non-recall candidate must have received at least 70.0% support, calculated as Support / (Support + Oppose), and a minimum of 20 support votes. Recall candidates must achieve 55.0% support. Because this is a vote and not a consensus, there are no bureaucrat discussions ("crat chats").
Any questions or issues can be asked on the election talk page. Thank you for your participation. Happy electing.

@~2026-56617-90: I don't want to take any credit for that because I did not give you any guidance (I don't know what you're talking about). But here is my guidance: Avoid WP:CITEKILL, From what I am seeing, the draft is already heading in that direction, which is sophisticated. Please reduce the citations from each statement to 1 or 2, and make sure they are reliable sources with extensive discussion of the subject. Bonus: read WP:BACKWARD. Thanks. I see you made the edits I requested, and updated the edit request template to indicate it was answered, but you forgot to actually respond to it and indicate that the edits have been done. You might want to go ahead and do that. YOSHI128Ktalk!06:55, 1 November 2026 (UTC)Reply
