- Hi Zzz plant! I wasn't able to thank you for the review. :D I have now made the final changes discussed on the GAN and expanded the lead section a bit. Best, Styyx (talk) 17:39, 31 May 2026 (UTC)

trwiki and LLM-wielding user
[edit]Hey there, I saw that you're listed on WP:EMBASSY for Turkey and that you have a substantial amount of edits on trwiki. There's a user that has recently been identified as an LLM user and the cleanup is substantial. This user appears to be Turkish and is making edits on trwiki as well. Since I don't speak Turikish, I can't easily check for AISIGNS, but what I can tell are byte counts and timestamps of contributions. I don't know a whole lot about trwiki or how bad the LLM problem is over there, but looking at meta:Artificial intelligence/Policies by project it seems to be at least some concern about it. I'm not planning on wading into a community that I don't belong to, but should this be reported anywhere there and if so, could you help with that? ‑‑gurkubondinn 14:46, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
- Hi gurkubondinn! I haven't really been active on trwiki in the past couple of years. I do remember that machine translation was a big problem back then, so I wouldn't be surprised if AI-generated stuff is popular as well, especially given that they have even expanded the deletion policy to include it. It's best for you report this on the admins noticeboard, we've had many people reporting cross-wiki problems there before. While it looks inactive, many (non-)admins have it watchlisted, so you are most likely to get a response there. If I can have the username I can take a look as well. Best, ~StyyxTalk? 16:27, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
- Hi Styyx and thanks for taking the time. Would it be fine to write in English on the trwiki noticeboard? I would prefer to not use a machine translation, that feels more invasive to me.
- There are a couple of usernames, because some sockpuppetry has been involved;
- Sockmaster account, currently active on trwiki: Pehlivanmeydani (talk · contribs)
- Sockpuppet (has not been active on trwiki): Sporwiki (talk · contribs)
- AINB filings with more info: WP:AINB § User:Sporwiki and § User:Pehlivanmeydani
- ‑‑gurkubondinn 16:38, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
- gurkubondinn, yep, you can write in English. As for this user, I won't be able to check thoroughly today but I can already see consecutive article creations within several minutes (eg. tr:Sophie Caverzan, tr:Marija Mičev, tr:Patrycja Zewar), so that's not a good sign I guess. ~StyyxTalk? 17:26, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
- Yeah, that's about what I could tell myself. Doesn't look great, so I wanted to give someone on trwiki a heads up. ‑‑gurkubondinn 17:39, 12 June 2026 (UTC)

- Looks like Kowal2701 has created tr:Vikipedi:Hizmetli duyuru panosu § Kullanıcı:Pehlivanmeydani.

- Pehlivanmeydani gets double points for using LLM to create articles in English and then machine translate them into Turkish. I did not expect the trwiki community to be dead enough to make me comment there for the first time in 2 years. ~StyyxTalk? 20:32, 13 June 2026 (UTC)
- But they get two points deducted for the repeated sockpuppets on enwiki, zero points! Thanks for your help, ‑‑gurkubondinn 21:15, 13 June 2026 (UTC)

DYK for Rotterdam metro crash
[edit]On 1 July 2026, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Rotterdam metro crash, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that an overshooting train in Rotterdam was saved by a whale's tail? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Rotterdam metro crash. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Rotterdam metro crash), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to nominate it.

Good article nominations RfC
[edit]Hi Styyx,
There is an ongoing Request for Comment (RfC) at Wikipedia:Good article nominations/August 2026 RfC, which you may be interested in because in the past year, you have nominated or reviewed more than one good article nomination. This message has also been sent to all subscribers to the Good Article Gazette. The RfC contains many proposals (33 at the time of writing), which are split into the following categories: nominators, reviewers, reviews, volunteer roles, reviewing initiatives, and others. However, you are more than welcome to add any proposals of your own that you wish to put to the community.
By the end of September, all the proposals will have been closed by an uninvolved editor, either as a consensus for one of the options or with no consensus. At this point, editors will be invited again to develop these proposals into coherent policy and implement them.
Thank you for your contributions to the good articles project, and I look forward to your input! (in solidarity), JacobTheRox(talk|contributions) 16:03, 11 August 2026 (UTC)
Organized Labour September Editing Event
[edit]
You're invited to join the Organized Labour community editing event, a cross-wiki event taking place throughout September 2026!
The campaign brings together Wikimedians interested in improving coverage of organised labour, workers, trade unions, and labour history. We have confirmed collaborations with Wikipedia language editions in English, Dutch, Persian, Serbo-Croatian and French. If you want to add other language editions or other wiki projects you are strongly encouraged to do so! This event spans geography and languages!
This is a one-time invitation. You're receiving it because you previously signed a petition related to Wiki Workers United (WWU). We hope you'll join us!
