Ban
[edit]When does my ban end? StainlessSteelScorpion (talk) 15:44, 27 October 2026 (UTC)
- @StainlessSteelScorpion; it is indefinite until you successfully appeal. You will almost certainly be declined a removal of the restriction if you try within the next month. Sennecaster (Chat) 15:53, 27 October 2026 (UTC)
- i see. Given that you are the enforcing admin, what would engender you to consider removing the ban a month from now? StainlessSteelScorpion (talk) 16:56, 27 October 2026 (UTC)
- @StainlessSteelScorpion; nothing. This was placed by a consensus of administrators, I happened to be the one to log it. The enforcing administrator is the community. Your options of appeal are described at Wikipedia:Contentious topics#Appeals and amendments. Given the history of issues, you've got a lot of change in your editing to make before an appeal is even accepted. Sennecaster (Chat) 17:00, 27 October 2026 (UTC)
- What if i just stop editing for a while? StainlessSteelScorpion (talk) 17:47, 27 October 2026 (UTC)
- @StainlessSteelScorpion; no editing and then making an attempt at coming back will not help. The goal of a topic ban is to stop your pattern of disruption in the topic. There's a massive amount of encyclopedia to edit, and to build better habits away from some of the most inflammatory and tense articles on the site. If you choose to leave entirely, that's fine, but we need to see that you have changed and vanishing for 6 months doesn't work. Sennecaster (Chat) 22:41, 27 October 2026 (UTC)

SSS AE closing message
[edit]i read this and was surprised by closing saying that black kite was partially blocked? Did you mean to say black kite had partially blocked sss? User:Bluethricecreamman (Talk·Contribs) 19:00, 27 October 2026 (UTC)
- Good catch. That's what I get for doing paperwork of any kind in the middle of a lecture... Sennecaster (Chat) 22:39, 27 October 2026 (UTC)
Thank you and questions
[edit]Thank you for your message informing me of the case.
Q1. For the word limit, does the diff count as one word or is not a word? My initial opinion is that a diff is not a word even if software counts it as so.
Q2. Generally, must submissions not be edited except typos? Or can they be edited slightly, such as correcting an awkwardly written sentence or making a paragraph more concise?
Q3. If there is a significant point that should be responded to, are extension to the word limit usually granted or are extension requests usually denied?
Q4. Do the arbitrators ever make public queries to evidence or is it generally that there is evidence submission and then decisions? (If there are no queries, then the writing style might try to anticipate questions that arbitrators might have in their mind and pro-actively answer these potential questions, but that increase the length of text).
Q5. Do you believe the consideration of cases are on going or generally start after the evidence period is completed?
Thank you. Vanguard10 (talk) 22:34, 31 October 2026 (UTC)
- Asking arbs
- You can copyedit and even heavily modify your evidence up until the deadline.
- Analysis of evidence (your owna and others) should go on /Workshop, which has no word limit. Word limits to rebut evidence are not usually granted for the /Evidence page.
- Arbitrators may ask for additional types of evidence; ie. in WP:ARBGC2 arbs asked for people to present evidence of a "walled garden" effect if anyone had them. Arbs and clerks will always ask you to substantiate claims with diffs. Again, the workshop phase is a place where you can analyze evidence and provide proposals for the facts of finding (which is where evidence is synthesized the most heavily in the final decision).
- Conduct of all participants during the case plays a major part in final decisions. WP:ARBATC2 comes into mind, where one of the parties' own behavior during Evidence swayed multiple arbitrators to voting how they did.
- If you have any more questions or would like additional clarification, please don't hesitate to reach out, although if your questions are more general to the arbitration process you may find a faster response at the arbclerks' noticeboard. Sennecaster (Chat) 01:10, 1 November 2026 (UTC)

- On #1, I believe the bot will count each "" as a separate word. If the bot says you are over your word count but it's only from by the number of diffs in your submission (and that is in turn under the diff limit), then that would be reasonably at the word limit and thus fine. If you put actual words in the link like "this example" then that would still count as 2 words. ~ Jenson (SilverLocust 💬) 02:12, 1 November 2026 (UTC)
