Thoughts on the future
[edit](Non-administrator comment) I hope I don't regret posting this. @Rfakjunkie, it is clear you are very motivated to edit here but you are currently blocked and cannot do so. Your recent attempt to evade this block has put you two strikes away from WP:THREESTRIKES which, if you reach, will make it very difficult to ever return to editing here. You may be surprised to hear that I was considering supporting your unblock request after your initial block for socking/lying about said socking. However, I decided to wait and see whether you would respect the block or not. Unfortunately, you did not. However, I would still be prepared to support an unblock request in the future - but because of of your block evasion, that request is going to need to be really good. Here is my suggestion, as a non-admin. Take an abridged version of the WP:SO - do not edit on enwiki at all, in any way, for 3 months. Then, come back and make a very good unblock request that addresses all issues: the block evasion, the dishonesty, the repeated prior issues with unsourced edits, the unwillingness to respond to community feedback, everything. I would also be interested to see you propose changes in how you manage your talk page as well (this is not required per policy, but would indicate you are willing to take a different approach). I am writing this because I can imagine ways in which you are a strong contributor here; there are not many editors active on the pages that you edit, and I think you have a good base competence level. But it is critical you do not evade your block again, in any way. NicheSports (talk) 06:55, 9 February 2026 (UTC)
- (Non-administrator comment) Clarification: you can of course use your talk page, from this account, to make constructive comments/questions/requests about your block. I.e. you can respond to this if you want (although you don't have to - up to you) NicheSports (talk) 07:08, 9 February 2026 (UTC)
- Hello, NicheSports. I am writing this message to you with a lot of hope. I really like to edit wiki pages of Indian sport personalities being a former sportsperson myself. The reason for it is simple, we as sportsperson are never really appreciated until we make it big. A lot of indian sport wiki pages which is my niche are filled with outdated information, all i ever wanted to do was update them to recent information so people know us better. You may have seen in all my edits, that I made sure I edited it with current information. Since wiki editing came as an hobby after my academics, I did not really know the rules well in the start and may have committed mistakes that costed my account, which i terribly regret till date. The new account i created, I made sure that i follow all the rules to the t and added proper sources to all my edits, all of them. I truly really appreciate that you have written me this message because I was feeling helpless all this time that I could not contribute. If you had even written to me once brother, that you were reconsidering the block i would have made never made a new account for real. Still I would really appreciate if you consider me as a friend and guide me from here on to find ways to contribute. I would forever be grateful to you for your help in this matter. ~2026-87854-4 (talk) 07:16, 9 February 2026 (UTC)
- The message above was written by me. i replied from the page that opened through my gmail, so i think it may have gone through a temporary account. but it was me only. Rfakjunkie (talk) 07:19, 9 February 2026 (UTC)
- hey @Rfakjunkie, I'd suggest editing while logged in so you don't reveal your IP address to those who can see it (most can't, but some with certain permissions can). As for the guidance about how to proceed, I would repeat what I wrote above:
Take an abridged version of the WP:SO - do not edit on enwiki at all, in any way, for 3 months. Then, come back and make a very good unblock request that addresses all issues: the block evasion, the dishonesty, the repeated prior issues with unsourced edits, the unwillingness to respond to community feedback, everything. I would also be interested to see you propose changes in how you manage your talk page as well (this is not required per policy, but would indicate you are willing to take a different approach).
The three month suggestion is to demonstrate that you will respect the current block, which is important to start regaining trust. Please note that not all unblock requests will work here; it needs to be a good, thoughtful, and honest one that addresses the major issues. So, I guess I hope to see a good unblock request in three months. NicheSports (talk) 07:23, 9 February 2026 (UTC)- Thank you so much for replying, I will follow everything that you've said. So I should wait for three months and then write a unblock request, right? It is 9 February 2026 today, so i'll come back with my request on 15 may 2026, is that ok? I hope you will be active on wiki during that time, i would want a knowledgeable person like you to see that message before i proceed further, just to make sure I don't mess up. Again thankyou for your guidance! Rfakjunkie (talk) 07:32, 9 February 2026 (UTC)
- Yes, the 15th of May would work. I do expect to be around. However, I will likely not be willing to review your unblock request before you make it - it is important that it comes from you so we can see that you understand the major issues. If you have logistical questions about the unblock request I'd recommend pinging @Blue-Sonnet, a very nice non-admin who helps with such requests. No need to ping me when you make your unblock request - I follow your talk page so will see the request when it pops up. NicheSports (talk) 07:38, 9 February 2026 (UTC)
- Done. I'll make sure I'll do whatever it takes to bring this account back. Will ping Blue-Sonnet, if i have any queries. Thankyou so much for all your help. Hoping for an unblock soon! Rfakjunkie (talk) 07:44, 9 February 2026 (UTC)
- @Rfakjunkie I hope you are doing well and are preparing to make an unblock request. I have two pieces of advice for you
- Please don't use any LLM assistance in your request. I don't necessarily think that you would, but editors use LLMs to assist with unblock requests very often and it does not help
- Be honest about what the problems were and what you have learned.
- Good luck! NicheSports (talk) 20:46, 30 April 2026 (UTC)
- Honestly, I would urge Rfakjunkie not to request an unblock until six months have passed since their last message, meaning August 9th. Their second confirmed sockpuppet started editing just weeks after their first, also confirmed, sockpuppet was blocked, and the block continued to be evaded for an entire month before being caught in February. I think this will be considered to be firmly in WP:OFFER territory, so I think it would be wise to follow WP:OFFER before an unblock request. CoffeeCrumbs (talk) 01:48, 1 May 2026 (UTC)
- Rfakjunkie, neither CoffeeCrumbs nor I are admins. Please be aware that WP:SO is an essay, not one of our policies and guidelines. You are under no obligation to wait one month or three months or six months before making an unblock request. I believe that CoffeeCrumbs means well and I agree that you would have a good chance to be unblocked if you followed their advice. I also believe that you would have a decent chance to be unblocked after the three month period, which is almost up, assuming a good unblock request of course. I am not making any promises here. If your request is denied you can always appeal again in a few months as well! Ultimately it is up to you. NicheSports (talk) 03:27, 1 May 2026 (UTC)
- Thankyou NicheSports for the follow-up message, I truly appreciate your efforts to give me a second chance back to editing. You have no idea how hard it is for me to see wrong info on wiki pages i frequently visit and not being able to edit it correctly, this is due to my own wrong doings ofc, but I've learned my lesson the hard way. I feel like going forward for the unblock request mid May, because this year is very important for me because there will be the 2026 Commonwealth Games in July and the 2026 Asian Games in September where there will be a need to create new pages for winning athletes and general update for others, I really dont want to miss out on that.
- Also I appreciate CoffeeCrumbs's message too, but a unblock request in August would mean I would miss 2026 Commonwealth Games. I think I will take my chances in mid May and if things don't fall in place I'll apply again in August per CoffeeCrumbs suggestion.
- Once again, I truly appreciate both of your help in this matter. Thankyou so much! Rfakjunkie (talk) 04:42, 1 May 2026 (UTC)
- Hi, @Rfakjunkie, I hope you are doing well and are still considering making an unblock request NicheSports (talk) 04:51, 14 July 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you NicheSports for keeping in touch, i really appreciate it. Yes, i do intend to make a unblock request. Someone was sick in my family and i was caught up there, so this flew out of my mind. But yeah, i do want to go ahead. I've made a draft in my notes app as well, some minor tweaks and it's good to go. But i don't know where to post it or how to contact administrator. Rfakjunkie (talk) 09:00, 14 July 2026 (UTC)
- You can follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Appealing a block#Requesting to be unblocked. There are two helper tools there which you can paste your unblock request into. Once submitted, a new section will be created on your talk page using a template. Certain administrators monitor this template and will come to your talk page to review the unblock request. You won't need to summon them here - the template takes care of that. I'll watch out and make sure things are correct from a technical perspective. NicheSports (talk) 13:10, 14 July 2026 (UTC)
- Hello! I've submitted my unblock request just now. Thank you for guiding me with the process and initiating the discussion about this, because i wouldn't have been able to do it otherwise. I hope the unblock request is successful but regardless of the end result, i truly appreciate your help. Thanks a lot! Rfakjunkie (talk) 07:12, 15 July 2026 (UTC)
- Hello, NicheSports! My unblock request has been accepted today. I feel so happy right now, out of words tbh. Thank you for guiding me with the process and vouching for me. Without your help I wouldn't have been able to navigate through the process, let alone having a successful outcome out of it, I really owe you on this one. Thank you so much again, I would really make sure to use this second chance with all honesty and sincerity. Special shoutout to CoffeeCrumbs as well, really appreciate your inputs. Thank you all! This means a lot to me. Regards! Rfakjunkie (talk) 19:21, 23 July 2026 (UTC)

Unblock request
[edit]

Request reason:
I respectfully request my block to be reconsidered. Firstly i would like to offer my sincere and unconditional apology to the administrators and the wiki community for my actions.
I was regularly editing on wiki initially with my limited knowledge since 2024 and gradually learnt along the way, so much so that i made 4000+ edits and created more than a dozen new pages. I genuinely enjoyed contributing, particularly to sportsperson articles, since i'm a ex athelte myself, so much so that i almost contributed to wiki evry day for 3 months on a roll. However while i was learning, i also made some serious mistakes.
The first and major one was creating and using two accounts without understanding wiki's sockpuppetry policy properly. When NicheSports asked me about the ownership of another account out of the blue, i was taken aback by the question and falsely denied as i thought he'd not know and if i said yes all my 300 odd edits would be rolled back. I regret this and now i know the gravity of the mistake and being dishonest after being blocked. I also recognize that i made some unsourced edits and that i did not always respond appropriately to community feedback. I understand why those actions were problematic and deeply regret them. After i was blocked for editing from Rfakjunkie account, i made an even grave mistake by creating another account to continue editing. At that time, i genuinely thought that only the account was blocked, and not the editor. I now understand that block evasion is itself a serious violation of wiki policies. Regardless of all my misunderstandings, i accept full responsibility for all the mistakes.
Several months ago, NicheSports the same user who initiated my block may have gone through my edits and felt i could be a genuine contributor to wiki, left me a helpful message explaining that if i stayed away from editing for three months and later submitted a thorough unblock request addressing all of the issues, they would be willing to consider supporting it. I took that advice seriously and have stayed away from editing. I also have not attempted to evade my block again, and have been learning wiki guidelines all this time.
I know that my words alone cannot undo my past actions, but i promise from now on to firstly be honest in my conduct, never create multiple accounts, add proper sources to all my edits, never engage in llm edits and respond to all the feedback given to me by other editiors. I've also been bookmarking new pages that i want to edit ever since my block, just with the hope that if i ever return i would edit those. I promise to become a well read wiki editor who only does well sourced and constructive edits in accordance to all the wiki guidelines.
I sincerely appreciate the time taken to read this request and respectfully ask for my block to be reconsidered to give me another chance for editing. Thank you for your consideration and again, i would like to apologise for everything. Regards, Rfakjunkie Rfakjunkie (talk) 07:06, 15 July 2026 (UTC)
Accept reason:
I've accepted your unblock request based on your appeal, a clean CU, and that fact that two editors in good standing have vouched for you. We hope you make the most of this second chance. Welcome back. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 18:53, 23 July 2026 (UTC)
- As the user who identified Rfakjunkie's sockpuppetry and subsequent block evasion, I support this request, assuming CU is clean. I believe Rfakjunkie has great potential as an editor, which they have shown in the unblock request above, and I have been hoping for some time they would be able to return. NicheSports (talk) 12:20, 15 July 2026 (UTC)
- Rfakjunkie, I wish you well on your unblock request, and I'll be happy if it is accepted. I would, however, remove the reference to the standard offer and make this a regular unblock request. You want an unblock request to be as accurate as possible and since there was a sockpuppet in February, it's been five months and a week, not seven and a half months. But I'm rooting for you. CoffeeCrumbs (talk) 16:18, 15 July 2026 (UTC)
- Thankyou for the suggestion CoffeeCrumbs. The changes have been made now. I really appreciate your help! Regards. Rfakjunkie (talk) 16:34, 15 July 2026 (UTC)

- Very happy to see this was successful! CoffeeCrumbs (talk) 21:41, 23 July 2026 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Ravana. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Cricket at the 2026 Asian Games – Women's tournament, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page, which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. No official announcements made, and the ref you provided mentions possiblities, and BCCI said Pratika Rawal will replace only for asia cup for asian games they have to wait. Ravana TALK 16:36, 9 September 2026 (UTC)
- Hello! The edit was reasonably sourced with a Sportstar citation which is acceptable per WP:RS. But yeah you're right, I should have waited for the official BCCI press release. Regards. Rfakjunkie (talk) 16:44, 9 September 2026 (UTC)
Unnathi Aiyappa
[edit]Hi Rfakjunkie (talk),
Please check the Wikipedia:Article titles page and the naming policies for the page titles. Usually, 'Article titles' are based on how reliable English-language sources refer to the article's subject. Also Unnathi is referred to as "Unnathi Aiyappa" in all the other links on Wikipedia, at least three of them. That is why I changed the Red link on "India at the Asian Games". How Popular coverage names them takes precedence oofver 'Official names as given by federation (AFI) or World Athletics.' Kindly note. Thanks and happy editing! - Noted. Thanks! Rfakjunkie (talk) 19:03, 9 September 2026 (UTC)
