Announcement: passing of Peter Horn
[edit]After seeing that this user has not edited since last December, I checked and am sorry to report the death of Peter Horn. While we disagreed at times, I worked side-by-side with Peter on Wikipedia for over a decade, as have Slambo and Trainsandotherthings. Peter made tens of thousands of edits to Wikipedia's STEM articles, most notably those within WikiProject Trains. He brought a lot of expertise based on his industry experience as well as his knowledge as a railfan. He also added citations from his collection of paper book and periodical sources about rail topics.
I found Peter's obituary here. Note that his name, age, and location perfectly match what he'd shared about himself publicly on his user page; the time frame also fits. While searching, I believe I found some other web pages about the correct Peter Horn:
