Your edit to World War I
[edit]Hello there
I reverted your edit because your added content was already covered in the article more concisely. This is a high-level article whose aim is to summarise a lot of information concisely. The article is already very long: over the recommended size for a wikipedia article, so we need to get consensus to add new content. The added section also gives undue emphasis to Franco-German rivalry which is only one factor leading up to war. (Why not a separate sub-heading for Anglo-German rivalry, or colonial rivalry?) If you disagree with this, I suggest that you open a discussion on the article Talk page and seek consensus for your proposed additions.

GTFO edit
[edit]I think...if you're not sure if an edit is appropriate or needed, you might want to ask about it on the article's talk page. That's where editors talk about making the article better or not. If you really think the edit you made is necessary, feel free to put it back, but someone else is likely to revert it. Joyous! Noise! 20:16, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
- Sounds good, thanks. Sorry I didn't think to come here, it honestly didn't seem important enough. I figured that if it wasn't an ideal edit it was easier for a more experienced Wikipedian to just realise it needed reverting. Thanks for doing so and sorry I made you.
