You are invited to participate in the Destubathon of the Americas, a contest/editathon which will run from May 1 to May 31. The goal is to destub as many of our 475,000+ stubs for the Americas (from Alaska down to Chile) as possible. A good chance to have fun in expanding many of our old stale stubs and win up to £2000 ($2680) in Amazon vouchers for expanding stub articles. Sign up in the Contestants/participants section on the contest page if interested. Even if not interested in prizes you are still warmly welcome to participate in it as an editathon! Hopefully we can achieve something significant in the month of May together! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:16, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
For information

- Thanks for the heads-up @KJP1:. Pretty disappointing − another expert hounded out. Who needs subject experts, right? I mean, at least we have lots of articles about Pokemon and Minecraft and other equally "important" things. SMH. MeegsC (talk) 10:42, 21 April 2026 (UTC)
Meadowlark Taxonomy Text
[edit]I've been looking at Meadowlark, Sturnella, and Leistes which all include an uncited, nearly identical paragraph about the taxonomic split of Leistes from Sturnella. As far as I can tell, this text originates with your addition to the Meadowlark page in 2014. Was the source Dickinson & Christidis 2014, or some other publication? Suggestions for where to start on sparrows
[edit]Hello! I've recently been getting into birding, and I've been wanting to try to improve some articles on bird species as a way to further my research on them. I saw your work on Black-chinned sparrow and figured you would be a good person to contact, as I was considering attempting Seaside sparrow and potentially some of its associated subspecies as a starting point. I have some other articles I have promised to work on for people, so this would not be something I would do within the immediate future, but I'd appreciate any advice you have or sources you would suggest for when I start to gather sources and prepare for doing some work. I'd greatly appreciate anything you're willing to share with me on the matter! Magneton Considerer: Pokelego999 (Talk) (Contribs) 02:11, 21 October 2026 (UTC)
- Hi Pokelego999! Happy to help where I can. Let me know when you're ready to start work and what help you think you'll need. I have access to many reference books and there are multiple good online sources. MeegsC (talk) 09:36, 21 October 2026 (UTC)
