Allosaurus info arbitration

hello Jens, I wish to know if youre willing to arbitrate in a situtation?

I've admitted information about the length of allosaurus europaeus skull length onto the allosaurus wikipedia page.

https://sites.google.com/site/hendrickxchristophe/news-and-data/torvosaurus-gurneyi my source is this website. it comes from the commentary of christophe hendrickx and in the page he states "The only partial skull we have of Allosaurus europaeus is estimated to be 70-80 cm in length whereas this of Torvosaurus gurneyi is around 115 cm" there fore I put the skull length of a europaeus at 70-80cm in length. scroll down and you will see the excerpt.

however User:SlvrHwk unsuprisingly and in typical fashion,removed the info, he claimed that my infor mation was unsupported by the source which is not true. scroll down and you will clearly see Dr hendrickx state the skull length.

admissibility of sources

hello,I have more questions about content admissability

my question is are these 2 sources admissable citations for body size estimates of dinosaurs

I had deleted a citation from scott Hartman on the uteodon page. at the time the skeletals size were not stated in text,you could only estimate from the scale bar. but I was told scaling from figures is inadmissable,the estimate must be clearly stated in text. so I deleted it. he updated his size however and now the skeletals have a clearly stated size estimate attached to the skeletals. I know scott Hartman is a renowned anatomist and paleontologist,I just wanted confirmation of admissibility before I used him as a source.

the other website is from lida xing. he's a Chinese paleontologist and he has a database of dinosaurs and information about them.

other editors have said that for example,in order for books to be admissable as a source,they had to come from subject matter experts at least and both hartmann and xing are subject matter experts.

Yes, that's a very useful script, but be careful when citations are not 100% identical. Sometimes citations differ just in the page cited, but if one of them is removed, the information might no longer be supported (because the right page number is gone), and that's a much bigger problem than a duplicate citation. Always double-check if they are indeed the same source pointing to the same part and the same pages. --Jens Lallensack (talk) 06:49, 22 August 2026 (UTC)
