Archive number
[edit]I may be a fool or blind, but for me this script only archives to /talkpage/Archive 1 even if there are later number archives available. Is there a way to change that which i'm just not seeing? Happy days, ~ LindsayHello 15:25, 15 June 2024 (UTC)
- @LindsayH: is there an example of a page where this is an issue? Elli (talk | contribs) 21:15, 15 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Elli. Well, yes. I stopped using Evad37's archiver after i had to manually redo all the archiving i did at talk:Dalida; so, i have tried again, with yours, at that page, and it archives to Talk:Dalida/Archive 1, although Talk:Dalida/Archive 2 exists. Also, which is what prompted me here yesterday, a test action i did at user_talk:LindsayH went to /Archive 1 although archives up to Archive 8 exist. If i'm not being clear, please ask. Happy days, ~ LindsayHello 07:52, 16 June 2024 (UTC)
- I set auto-archive at Talk:Fortnite Battle Royale and then advanced the counter, OCA worked just fine with /Archive 2 (OCA created the page and archived the correct section and page. Special:Diff/1229260901) - FlightTime (open channel) 13:08, 16 June 2024 (UTC)
- FlightTime ~ so i'm misunderstanding how a one click archiver works? My assumption was that you can click to archive finished sections on a talk page; that's why i thought i could use it on Talk:Dalida and my usertalk. Am i wrong, the page has to be set up to auto-archive for the one step script to work? That seems...counter-intuitive, no? Happy days, ~ LindsayHello 14:17, 16 June 2024 (UTC)
- @LindsayH: You have to have a archiving script set for OCA to work. If not User:MiszaBot/config then {{Archive basics}}, something like these scripts need to be set or OCA will not work. - FlightTime (open channel) 16:05, 16 June 2024 (UTC)
- Scripts that descend from Technical13's version use the configuration for MiszaBot (now being processed by lowercase sigmabot III), or the {{Archive basics}} template, which has the two configuration values needed by the script (see User:Technical 13/Scripts/OneClickArchiver § Archive page). In the case where there is no configured bot, the script still needs to be told what archive page to use, as the archiving naming conventions can differ from page to page. isaacl (talk) 15:10, 16 June 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you both; i guess i did misunderstand ~ i don't recall ever seeing that information when i first used either Technical13's or Evad37's, so now i think i've got it. Cheers! Happy days, ~ LindsayHello 06:37, 17 June 2024 (UTC)

Bug reports for Evad37's script
[edit]I was wondering: which of the bugs reported at User talk:Evad37/OneClickArchiver.js have been fixed in this version?
- Incorrect archive target
- Always uses Archive 1 as archive target even though there are 2 or more than one archives
- TypeError when visiting uncreated talk pages
- Problem with number width specifier in archive parameter
- Bug report: one click archiving on subpages should not default to the main page archive
Perhaps reporters of bugs could be advised to use User:Elli/OneClickArchiver. —andrybak (talk) 21:08, 15 June 2024 (UTC)

Bug: archived section to "Archive 1" when "Archive 2" and "Archive 3" both exist
[edit]I've just tried this on my user talk page. I have pages up to Archive 3, but the archived section was added to Archive 1. I have no bots or other settings templates on my talk page. Rjjiii (talk) 07:25, 16 August 2024 (UTC)
- The FlightTime script had the same issue. The OCA script correctly finds the highest archive. I had thought it may be that the scripts relied on a bot config (which is absent on my talk page), but I sneezed while reading H:CS1 discussions on my phone and accidentally archived something to "Archive 1". The OCA script again correctly sees "Archive 95" as the highest and correct target. Changing themes didn't affect "Archive N" choice. On pages like Talk:Roswell incident that use "User:MiszaBot/config" it seems to choose the correct archive. On pages like Help talk:Citation Style 1 that use "User:ClueBot III/ArchiveThis" the "one click" scripts always choose "Archive 1". Adding {{Archive basics}} seems to be the thing I was meant to do, and works. I see links to it on some talk pages now, but don't see it explained on the script pages or on Wikipedia:One click archiving. So do these scripts require some type of config written on the talk page? And will they ignore ClueBot's config? Why can't they treat "numberstart" like "counter"? This should probably be explained in documentation somewhere along the user's path to install one of these. Maybe notes from User:Equazcion/OneClickArchiver can be copied to the documentation for the new scripts? Also, pings to FlightTime, andrybak, and Elli. Rjjiii (talk) 01:54, 23 August 2024 (UTC)

- There are pages which use slashes, but I don't recommend doing it on new pages. I suggest using the most popular format – it tends to have better support from templates and bots, it's easier to investigate in case of issues, etc. —andrybak (talk) 14:02, 23 August 2024 (UTC)

notifications sent when archiving
[edit]Someone archived a talk page that @-mentioned me, and I received a notification about it. For sure, I should be notified when the @-mention is done. But years later, when the page is archived, I shoudldn't be notified. Why does the archiver raise such notifications? They're unwanted, unwarranted, and confusing. -- 23:06, 5 November 2024 (UTC) mikeblas (talk) 23:06, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Mikeblas: Which page, which archive edit? But at a rough guess, I'd say that the edit doesn't have the b marker denoting a bot edit. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 23:39, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
- From this template talk page archive: Template talk:Infobox India university ranking/Archive 1. Must've been this edit, since it's the one that pings me. Not sure what you mean by "b marker", tho. -- mikeblas (talk) 00:17, 6 November 2024 (UTC)
- When you click on the little
icon, it produces a list of the 25 most recent notifications. If you locate the entry concerned, you can right-click on it and select "Copy Link" or similar. Then you can be certain of stating which edit caused the notification. - If you go to your watchlist, you may find that some edits have a little b between the "hist" link and the page name. This is explained further up: on the right-hand side of the "Watchlist options" box is a smaller box headed "Legend (help):", the rest of the box includes a row reading "b Bot edit". Anyway, that's not the case here.
- What possibly happened is that threads created in archive pages by OneClickArchiver are simply that - new threads. OneClickArchiver was used by Muhandes (talk · contribs), whose signature is the last item in the thread, therefore, the notifications system sent a notification to eveybody else named in the thread - i.e. you. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 18:13, 6 November 2024 (UTC)
- Here's the link. I contacted Muhandes, and they said this isn't something they can control. But this has never happened to me with any comment on any other archive page, ever, in more than 20 years. It tricked me into responding to them on the archive page. This page is not on my watchlist -- I've got only eight watched pages, and none show up on my watchlist presently. So I still don't udnerstand what might have happened, or why I'd be pinged for a two-year-old mention. -- mikeblas (talk) 18:55, 6 November 2024 (UTC)

Wrong archive
[edit]This edit on Commons again used the wrong archive page. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 11:16, 22 April 2025 (UTC)
- (talk page watcher) @Pigsonthewing: There's nothing at the top of c:Commons:Help desk to tell OneClickArchiver which archive to use, so it uses a default archive name (the page name, plus "/Archive", a space and the number 1). This archive has been in use by OCA for over nine years. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 21:06, 22 April 2025 (UTC)
- One really basic fix for this is to take that default "/Archive 1" and use it as the default location in a JavaScript prompt(). This would alert an editor that (a) the discussion may be go to the wrong place and (b) the page lacks a bot config/Template:Archive basics, Rjjiii (talk) 22:46, 22 April 2025 (UTC)
- I synced to the current version of this script, and added a simple prompt when an editor tries to archive a page that does not have a "counter=" value somewhere or a date-based archiving config somewhere. This is probably the simplest solution. User:andrybak/Scripts/Archiver does something more complex where it actively seeks out the highest sequential archive and checks for the existence of annual archives. Rjjiii (talk) 16:24, 28 April 2025 (UTC)
- Bit busy this week but I'll see about implementing something like this. Elli (talk | contribs) 17:42, 28 April 2025 (UTC)
- No rush, appreciate you maintaining the script. Also, regarding "Another wrong archive" below, if using a simple prompt to catch the "Archive 1" default, you could do something like
if (archiveName.includes("undefined")){noConfigFound = true; //Something has gone wrong.}just before "if (noConfigFound)" to also catch the various bogus archives. (In that case likely caused by copying some but not all parameters from another talk page config.) Take care, Rjjiii (talk) 00:46, 11 May 2025 (UTC)

Using a different template to clear float
[edit]Hi Elli,
On frwiki we do have a "Clear" template, but it's not the one that should be used (it clears the floats, but also adds a horizontal line). The proper template would be "Clr" (just clears the floats).
Currently, the template name is hardcoded in the script. How about implementing something in the lines of:
let clearTemplateName = 'Clear';
if ( typeof customClearTemplateName !== 'undefined' ) {
clearTemplateName = mw.Title.newFromText( customClearTemplateName, 10 ).getMain();
}
This snippet allows to specify the template name with or without namespace prefix.
Od1n (talk) 00:23, 11 May 2025 (UTC)
- I just noticed the discussion above. We might alternatively consider a "free content" option:
let sectionSeparator = '\n\n{{Clear}}\n\n'; if ( typeof customSectionSeparator !== 'undefined' ) { if ( customSectionSeparator ) { sectionSeparator = '\n\n' + customSectionSeparator + '\n\n'; } else { sectionSeparator = '\n\n'; } } // ... sectionContent = sectionSeparator + sectionContent;

What exactly does the "1CA is on/off" button actually do?
[edit]Hi, what does that button actually do? When I click it to set it to off-state, there are still the |Archive buttons in each talk section and clicking on them will still archive those sections. Raladic (talk) 03:36, 18 July 2025 (UTC)

Went to the wrong archive
[edit]In https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Village_pump_(WMF)&diff=prev&oldid=1311084245, 1CA put the archived content in archive 1 instead of archive 11. –Novem Linguae (talk) 08:39, 13 September 2025 (UTC)
- Why would you use OneClickArchiver on a bot-archived page? --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 19:53, 13 September 2025 (UTC)
- My motivation is that that section had no comments for 1.5 weeks and was taking up like 60-70% of the page, making it load slowly and requiring a lot of scrolling. –Novem Linguae (talk) 20:04, 13 September 2025 (UTC)
- There are many use-cases for doing so: for example sections marked as resolved; especially on pages dealing with breaking news, or archiving disruptive sections created by users subsequently blocked. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 21:18, 28 September 2025 (UTC)
- OK. Back to the original question. Judging by the ten or so lines beginning at User:Elli/OneClickArchiver.js#L-101, the script relies on the presence of a
|counter=parameter having a valid value; if this is unspecified, or otherwise invalid, it defaults to a value of 1. In Wikipedia:Village pump (WMF), the{{User:ClueBot III/ArchiveThis}}does not have such a parameter (in fact, that archiving bot doesn't use the parameter at all), so the value 1 is used. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 08:36, 14 September 2025 (UTC)- Good info, thanks. Perhaps the fix then is to write an algorithm that if a |counter= is not present, pull a list of all archive subpages using the API, figure out the last one, then write to that one. –Novem Linguae (talk) 19:29, 14 September 2025 (UTC)
- Or even, if that's not possible fail gracefully with a warning message. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 21:19, 28 September 2025 (UTC)
- It would, perhaps, be worth investing some effort in asking bot maintainers to standardise parameter names. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 21:21, 28 September 2025 (UTC)
- I mentioned above that one fallback option is to take whatever the default value is and give that to the editor running the script in a JavaScript popup that would allow them to accept, decline, or change the target archive page. Also, User:andrybak/Scripts/Archiver will check for annual archives and check for the highest existing sequential archive as a fallback. Regarding a discussion to "
standardise parameter names
", because Cluebot uses math rather than a visible counter, that bot could (if desired) add a|counter=parameter to talk pages to enable one-click archiving on both this script and the older ones. I wonder if they would be interested? Rjjiii (talk) 21:49, 28 September 2025 (UTC)- I've fixed this in my rewrite of the script (User:Elli/OneClickArchiver-sandbox.js), which I will deploy in a few days (waiting a bit to find potential issues before rolling it out to everyone). 1CA creating new archive every time it’s used
[edit]Don’t know if I’m missing something - my talk page is set up to use LCSB, so has a counter. But every time 1CA runs it increments the counter, meaning I’m left with multiple archive pages with only a single thread… is there a way to change this behaviour? Danners430 tweaks made 15:36, 15 September 2025 (UTC)
- As of Special:Permalink/1311579941, the config on User talk:Danners430 uses
|maxarchivesize=50T, which is supposed to mean "50 threads" (as per User:MiszaBot/config#Parameters explained), but the script seems to only support kilobytes and bare integers: Special:Permalink/1286738638#L-167--L-178. The regex'\\| *maxarchivesize *= *(\\d+K?)'ignores the letterT, so it ends up parsing50Tas50, which gets interpreted as 50 bytes. —andrybak (talk) 22:25, 15 September 2025 (UTC)- That would do it… Do we think this is something the script could be updated to support, as the Threads size is quite pleasant IMO Danners430 tweaks made 07:23, 16 September 2025 (UTC)

Issue on Commons

- (talk page watcher) @Pigsonthewing: This sounds like #Went to the wrong archive above - lack of a
|counter=parameter. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 19:00, 28 September 2025 (UTC)- My point is, the template in use does not have a parameter with that name. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 21:16, 28 September 2025 (UTC)
Problem with number width specifier in archive parameter
[edit]This script seems to have the same issue I raised at User talk:Evad37/OneClickArchiver.js § Problem with number width specifier in archive parameter: the regular expression currently used by the script to pick out the |archive= parameter from an archiving bot template won't handle a case like |archive=Wikipedia talk:Featured article candidates/archive%(counter)2d, as the 2 won't match. (It's part of a width specifier, as somewhat documented at User:MiszaBot/config § Variables.) In order for the script to reliably archive to the same page as the bot, the regular expression would have to be modified to detect the width specifier, and then the script would have to use it to format the counter number. It's no longer an issue with the featured article candifates talk page, which has been changed to no longer have a width specifier, but just flagging it in case it comes up again with another page. isaacl (talk) 22:08, 28 September 2025 (UTC)

If you would like to help translate the script fully to other languages, if you make a translated version of the UI strings (starting at User:Elli/OneClickArchiver.js#L-11), I can add them to the script. Archive undefined is back
[edit]Remember Wikipedia:Village_pump_(technical)/Archive_208#h-WP:1CA_"undefined"-20231018231500? This occurred because of a bug with Evad37T13's 1CA. I now spotted two pages with archive undefined. Courtesy ping @Novem Linguae who last helped me clean it up and @Elli as the maintainer of this version of 1CA.
Can you check the logic to make sure that there is no undefined behavior in your script? Thanks. Aasim (話す) 01:05, 15 April 2026 (UTC) ed. 12:53, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
- I don't remember much about this, but looks like this is the algorithm to clean up the existing issues. Can recruit folks to do this at WP:AWBREQ or WP:VPT or similar.
- But yes, identifying the code that causes this and fixing it is also important, so looking forward to Elli's response. The code fix should probably happen first, then a cleanup effort. –Novem Linguae (talk) 10:55, 15 April 2026 (UTC)

- Sorry for the late reply. I'm pretty sure this has already been fixed per my comments back in 2024, and I don't see any instances of such-named archives being created since. Please do let me know if this pops up again. I'm afraid I cannot guarantee there is no undefined behavior though. Elli (talk | contribs) 03:03, 14 July 2026 (UTC)

- I do wonder though if we could have an edit filter to warn and tag such edits as "possible malformed archive". It would help with both: (1) stopping any version of 1CA (or a bot) from creating a malformed archive on accident, and (2) if one accidentally gets created, cleanup becomes trivial. Aasim (話す) 17:51, 14 July 2026 (UTC)
- Edit filters are expensive since they're loaded on every page edit. However, you could certainly propose it and see what the edit filter folks think. The place to propose edit filters is WP:EF/R. Hope that helps. –Novem Linguae (talk) 23:56, 14 July 2026 (UTC)

- The other option is title blacklist, but that could be harder. In fact, I think a suitable edit filter is something like this:

- @Novem Linguae @Awesome Aasim this should be fixed in my rewrite of the script (User:Elli/OneClickArchiver-sandbox.js), which I will deploy in a few days (waiting a bit to find potential issues before rolling it out to everyone). Particularly, the script will always default to "1" if the counter variable isn't present, and will add "counter" to the template when this happens. Elli (talk | contribs) 08:14, 15 July 2026 (UTC)

Wikispecies, again
[edit]I use this tool on Wikispecies (where I am an admin), for example on species:Wikispecies:Administrators' Noticeboard, where it works well—thank you.
But on species:Wikispecies:Translation Administrators' Noticeboard, I see no "Archive" links. What can be done to change that? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 16:40, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
- @Pigsonthewing sorry for the late reply. This is because that page doesn't look like a talkpage (you might want to add the magic word

Bug report: incorrect checking of archive page size
[edit]Talk:Main Page has {{User:MiszaBot/config}} with |maxarchivesize=200k (note that k is lowercase).
On 2 May 2026, in Special:Diff/1352231699 and Special:Permalink/1352231698, the archive subpage Talk:Main Page/Archive 211 was created using the script, even though the previous archive subpage Talk:Main Page/Archive 210 (as of Special:Permalink/1352105260) was never larger than 10k.
In the next edit of Talk:Main Page, the |counter= parameter was subsequently incremented. —andrybak (talk) 20:29, 25 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Andrybak this should be fixed in my rewrite of the script (User:Elli/OneClickArchiver-sandbox.js), which I will deploy in a few days (waiting a bit to find potential issues before rolling it out to everyone). Elli (talk | contribs) 08:12, 15 July 2026 (UTC)
Discussion format breaks tool
[edit]The new discussion layout which is currently in beta but I believe is scheduled to be rolled out to everyone breaks the tool. The button does not appear. Czarking0 (talk) 14:42, 17 July 2026 (UTC)

- aaaaaand just as I wrote the above…!
- It shows up when you first load the page, but if you use the reply feature it disappears… Danners430 tweaks made 14:46, 17 July 2026 (UTC)
- @Czarking0 @Danners430 I'm a bit out-of-the-loop -- where do you enable this? Elli (talk | contribs) 15:34, 17 July 2026 (UTC)
- I didn't - it's just enabled itself for me… Danners430 tweaks made 15:34, 17 July 2026 (UTC)
- @Danners430 is the issue only after you've actually left a reply in a particular section? Elli (talk | contribs) 15:36, 17 July 2026 (UTC)
- Yes - if I press reply then cancel nothing happens. But when I leave a reply, both the Archive and Close buttons are gone. Danners430 tweaks made 15:37, 17 July 2026 (UTC)
- Okay, I'll have to look more in detail at how the new discussion tools work. Not sure how easy of a fix this will be (but fortunately reloading the page will bring back the buttons so it's not that hard to work around). Elli (talk | contribs) 15:38, 17 July 2026 (UTC)
- To add some more info, if it's of any use, in my case I have removed myself from the beta roll out, so discussions are still presenting as they previously did, but across all talkpages, including ones I have never been to before, the archive button no longer loads at all. -- Cdjp1 (talk) 14:14, 20 July 2026 (UTC)

OCA is enabled on this page; however, OCA could not find any existing archiving configuration
-- Cdjp1 (talk) 22:01, 20 July 2026 (UTC)- @Cdjp1 this happens on every page? Is there a specific one where you can confirm the issue? Elli (talk | contribs) 17:51, 21 July 2026 (UTC)
- Ok, so I thought you had just fixed up as I've been able to use OCA on an article today. But looking around, it seems to be the prior function where you could OCA on a talkpage without a pre-existing archive and it would create the archive, now it doesn't. So, at least for me, it will work if an archive already exists, but not when it doesn't. -- Cdjp1 (talk) 20:04, 21 July 2026 (UTC)
- @Cdjp1 that's intended. OCA would often make a mess by doing this in the past. I could add a feature to add an archiving template to a talkpage, if that's something you'd want. Elli (talk | contribs) 20:00, 22 July 2026 (UTC)
- Ah ok, in that case then, I have no request, and will get to work. -- Cdjp1 (talk) 21:00, 22 July 2026 (UTC)
- I seem to be in somewhat of the same boat with the Archive button disappearing on talk pages...it was so useful to have it automatically appear, not sure what the mess was unless you're referring to already existing talk archive pages that were mis-named. I do some gnoming over on Harv and Sfn no-target errors, cleaning up errors, and I run into a lot of articles with no archive pages already set-up. (What's the oldest post/thread I've ever seen still on an article's main talk page? maybe 2006 or so...) Having the button show up automatically made my Wiki-ing much simpler...for me anyway. Ok, thanks - Shearonink (talk) 16:33, 27 July 2026 (UTC)

Update broke the tool
[edit]I am starting a new discussion since I am not sure my comment above was noticed. Ever since the most recent update, the "Archive" link that is usualy located in the upper right of a talkpage discussion has dissappeared. The only time I can recall this problem was with the former tool, that the introduction of Elli/OneClickArchiver fixed. I had thought the problem was solved two days ago when I came across a talkpage where the "archive" links were present. However, that was a fluke, rather than the norm. Rublamb (talk) 15:38, 25 July 2026 (UTC)
- @Rublamb: Please always include an example when you report something. The script was updated 17 July and the documentation added "This script requires archiving be setup on a page to work". I guess that explains the difference between your unidentified pages. PrimeHunter (talk) 08:42, 27 July 2026 (UTC)
- OneClickArchiver does not work with all pages that have established archives. See User talk:Rublamb as an example. My guess is that since the instruction linked to above are not inclusive of all ways that archives are added to pages, that update has broken access to archiving. For example, see Talk:St. Anthony Hall, an article with an establishe archive that no longer works with OneClickArchiver. Rublamb (talk) 14:45, 27 July 2026 (UTC)
- @Rublamb: "archiving be setup" means archiving instructions like User:MiszaBot/config. My link says {{Archive basics}} is also allowed. PrimeHunter (talk) 15:01, 27 July 2026 (UTC)
- Again, that is not inclusive of all of the ways that archiving is set up. Since it is not compatible with existing pages with archives, it is pretty useless IMO. That is a shame, because I am probably one of the most active uses of OneClickArchiver. I am not against having to establish an archive before using the tool, I just don't think one should have to replace the setup of an existing archive to use the tool. Does that make sense? Rublamb (talk) 15:06, 27 July 2026 (UTC)
- @Rublamb: I have added the code at Template:Archive basics#Simple to Talk:St. Anthony Hall. Does that work? PrimeHunter (talk) 16:39, 27 July 2026 (UTC)
- It works, but that is one of thousands of articles. Is the issue that the archives are not set up correctly or that OneClickArchiver needs to be expanded to include other archive code? Rublamb (talk) 16:45, 27 July 2026 (UTC)
- @Shearonink, adding you to this discussion Rublamb (talk) 16:47, 27 July 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks. This most recent change has basically broken the usefulness of OneClickArchiver for me. - Shearonink (talk) 18:18, 27 July 2026 (UTC)
- @Rublamb @Shearonink the prior behavior was to dump everything onto "/Archive 1". For example User talk:Rublamb/Archive 1 is nearing a million bytes. This is not a meaningfully-useful talk page archive since it relies on viewing a massive page to see any particular discussion (the purpose of talk page archiving is to avoid this).
- I'm happy to add something to make it very easy to configure new archiving (either by adding MiszaBot or Archive basics). I'm not sure of what exactly would be ideal which is why I have not implemented this yet. But the prior behavior was extremely broken and leading to many issues/confusion. Elli (talk | contribs) 19:35, 27 July 2026 (UTC)
- Got it. I've been creating an archive and a link to that archive, but not actually formatting the archive. I started by copying what was in use by others at the time, meaning there must be many archives that are not splitting into pages that were created by myself and others. For most, that will never be an issue. But it sounds like I can fix any I come across, following the model demonstrated by @PrimeHunter. It would be great if you could update OneClickArchiver to create a multi-page archive when needed. Otherwise, the easy access created by the link in VE is of limited benefit. Rublamb (talk) 22:53, 27 July 2026 (UTC)
- @Rublamb I'll work on the feature soon. (Alas my arm is currently in a splint which makes programming a bit less fun, so it may be a bit.) Elli (talk | contribs) 23:43, 27 July 2026 (UTC)

Elli - I just added Talk:Woodlawn (Alexandria, Virginia)/Archive 1 to Talk:Woodlawn (Alexandria, Virginia). Shouldn't the Archive button appear now? It hasn't appeared on the talk page yet... - Shearonink (talk) 21:38, 27 July 2026 (UTC)
- PrimeHunter - I just want to manually archive this page, it gets so few posts etc, auto-archiving doesn't seem very needful/all that useful, so Template:Archive basics#Simple doesn't seem necessary. - Shearonink (talk) 21:43, 27 July 2026 (UTC)
- @Shearonink the Archive basics template would be the best fit for your use case here. It doesn't do any auto-archiving. It just tells this script where the archive page is. Elli (talk | contribs) 22:29, 27 July 2026 (UTC)
