Seoul Economic Daily — COI edit request ready for review
[edit]Hello DoubleGrazing,
In September 2026 you added a {{COI}} tag to Seoul Economic Daily, noting that recent edits to the "AI projects" section needed checking. Thank you for flagging it.
I have a conflict of interest (I work for the paper) and have not edited the article directly. Instead, I have posted a COI edit request on the article's talk page that tries to address the concern: it condenses the promotional wording, describes the AI tools functionally rather than as an award list, and replaces the self-published en.sedaily.com citation with independent and primary sources (the WAN-IFRA award records and a Samsung Press Foundation write-up).
Whenever you have time, would you be willing to look at the request and let me know whether it resolves the issue you raised, or what else would be needed? I understand the edit-request backlog is long, so there is no rush — I just wanted to flag it to you since you placed the tag. Any guidance would be appreciated.
Thank you : ) Lindsssay (talk) 08:14, 30 September 2026 (UTC)
- The COI request backlog is 2,000 requests long and most users don't accept request for reviews. In plain English it means "just be patient and wait". 海盐沙冰 / aka irisChronomia / Talk / Uploads 08:37, 30 September 2026 (UTC)

Administrators' newsletter – October 2026
[edit]News and updates for administrators from the past month (September 2026).

- Following an RfC, the good article criteria have been amended to add accessibility requirements.
- Following an RfC, late signatures added to administrator recall petitions after 720 hours from opening are reverted or struck and do not count towards the threshold, even if the petition has not yet been formally closed.
- The post-May 2026 administrator elections RfCs concluded with consensus for election monitors to curate blatantly inappropriate questions after posting, and to remove or merge true duplicates, clearly marking merged questions. Calls for candidates will include advisory guidance that users with less than one year’s experience or 5,000 edits generally lack a realistic chance of success.
- Interface administrators no longer need to specify the
ResourceLoaderoption in the definitions for gadgets on MediaWiki:Gadgets-definition as gadgets are always loaded throughResourceLoader. (T298199) - The
list=abusefiltersAPI module now supportsformatversion=2and includes breaking changes to its responses. In particular, theactionsproperty is now a JSON array rather than a string, regardless of the format version. Maintainers of user scripts and other code using this module should check compatibility and update their code as needed. (T435828)
- The arbitration case Gun control 2 has been closed.
- Doug Weller passed away on 30 September 2026. Doug Weller began editing Wikipedia in 2006 and became an administrator in 2008, making nearly 275,000 edits over two decades. He served on the Arbitration Committee from 2015 through 2018 and was also a longtime CheckUser and Oversighter.
- The October 2026 administrator elections are scheduled to run from September 29 to October 19. The call for candidates ends October 5.
- Self-nominations for the electoral commission for the 2026 Arbitration Committee elections is opened and closes on 8 October.
- The Good Article Nominations backlog drive has begun and is scheduled to end on November 3.

Question from Elijah a k10 (15:18, 3 October 2026)
[edit]Hi how are you --Elijah a k10 (talk) 15:18, 3 October 2026 (UTC)
what do the points for Wikipedia editing mean --Elijah a k10 (talk) 15:19, 3 October 2026 (UTC)
- @Elijah a k10: sorry, I'm not sure what "points" you're referring to – can you elaborate, or provide an example? -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 15:53, 3 October 2026 (UTC)
- when you click on view history next to the person's name, it will have points and I do not know what those mean (+4) ,like that there and that would be in green Elijah a k10 (talk) 17:57, 3 October 2026 (UTC)
- @Elijah a k10: if you mean the +/- numbers in the edit history of any page, they are just the change in size of that page, for each individual edit. So if, say, you make an edit to a page which adds (in net terms) 100 bytes to that page, that edit will have "(+100)" next to it. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 18:01, 3 October 2026 (UTC)

- @Mammoos 007: you don't need to keep bringing up your health issues. Many of us have health concerns, some may be even worse than yours, but that gives nobody the right to be rude and insulting to others, bark orders at them, etc., or for that matter to flout our rules.
- There are many more ways, arguably more constructive ways, to demonstrate that you can be a productive member of this community than updating some YouTuber's metrics, important though such metrics undoubtedly are. One thing you can do right now, from this moment on, is to stop being so adversarial and start treating your fellow editors with respect and courtesy (maybe also dial back on those exclamation marks, so you don't finish every other sentence with them). That would already go a long way towards de-escalating things, and make it more likely that an admin reviewing your next appeal (if any) will look favourably upon it.
- As for the duration of your block, it is currently set as indefinite, which does not mean infinite, but rather until such time when an administrator reviewing your unblock request determines that the block is no longer necessary and it is safe to unblock you. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 09:58, 6 October 2026 (UTC)

Draft review
[edit]Hello DoubleGrazing,
Thank you for reviewing my draft, Ghani Glass Limited. I understand that the submission was rejected because the subject did not meet Wikipedia's inclusion criteria.
I have since reviewed additional independent sources, including historical reporting by Business Recorder, industry research by JICA and PACRA, and reporting concerning the company's gas-tariff dispute.
Could you please advise whether these sources provide a reasonable basis for reconsideration, or whether the rejection should stand?
I have disclosed my paid relationship with the client and will respect Wikipedia's conflict-of-interest guidelines. I will not resubmit the draft unless the appropriate review process permits it.

Hi! Thank you for your quick review. The article is about a listed historical building. In the official monument browser of the Autonomous Province of Bozen/Bolzano (Italy), the listed property is explicitly registered under the name "Pension Westend" (engl. "guesthouse" or "hotel"), which covers both the historic architectural monument and its historical/functional ensemble as a traditional guesthouse (german "Pension"). Official source: https://kulturgueter.provinz.bz.it/de/landesdenkmalamt/monumentbrowser-suche/16037 This is why I provided information on both the building's architecture and a brief description of the hotel. I would be very grateful if you could tell me where you think I should make further adjustments. Thank you.

- Existence =/= notability. 海盐沙冰 / aka irisChronomia / Talk / Uploads 08:06, 16 October 2026 (UTC)
- @Digi-mar-at: you haven't been paid by a historical monument to write this draft, you have been paid by a business. It may be possible to write an acceptable draft about the building, and only about the building, but that isn't what you've written. If you wish to write a draft about the hotel business, you need to show how that business satisfies the WP:NCORP guideline. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 08:09, 16 October 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you for your response @DoubleGrazing. I'm still a bit confused, since the last reviewer, @Aeon Sentinel, helped me clean up critical parts that could have been problematic. Since the building is a hotel and is listed as such, it is difficult to omit this information, given that all the sources we cited (books, articles, etc.) refer to the building as a hotel. Would it be better if I cancelled the section on the hotel? Digi-mar-at (talk) 17:12, 16 October 2026 (UTC)
Dominoes page
[edit]Please advise why this page isn't being accepted as it's got numerous sources and it's a significant song in Syd Barrett's discography. If you need to reference who Syd Barrett is, please look up the Wiki article on him for referencing purposes. ~2026-55320-36 (talk) 14:23, 16 October 2026 (UTC)
- @~2026-55320-36: I couldn't accept Draft:Dominoes, because I didn't see evidence in the sources cited that it is notable enough to justify an article. If you can provide sources that meet either the general WP:GNG or the subject-specific WP:NSONG notability guideline, please add them to the draft and resubmit.
- Regarding the current sources specifically, the first two (= one) do not seem to mention 'Dominoes', at least according an in-book search on Google Books. Cite #4 is just a link to a Wikipedia article, which cannot be used as a source on Wikipedia; #5-7 are Gilmour (band mate, ie. not independent source) talking about it, and #8 is him playing it. I don't have a copy of #3 to hand, but it alone wouldn't be enough anyway to establish notability.
- And no, I do not
"need to reference who Syd Barrett is"
, thank you. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 14:37, 16 October 2026 (UTC)- Thanks for the feedback. PS - I wasn't trying to be sarcastic w/the referencing Syd Barrett comment, you'd be amazed how many people aren't aware he was the founder of Pink Floyd and named the band. :). I will revisit this and cite additional references. ~2026-55320-36 (talk) 19:29, 16 October 2026 (UTC)

[edit]For my article Matthew Laur, you stated I need more sources to confirm I'm notable enough to be included in Wikipedia. I'm a professional athlete. Part of the 1% that make it this far. That seems notable enough, so is it really just a matter of collecting more sources? I'm new to editing and creating on Wikipedia and just want to make sure I do this correctly LaurPower86 (talk) 13:35, 21 October 2026 (UTC)
- @LaurPower86: being a professional athlete is not, in and of itself, a determinant of notability, although it may well be that notability follows from it, if your sporting activities are of such nature and magnitude as to attract significant coverage in multiple secondary sources in a way that satisfies our general notability guideline WP:GNG. Your draft cites no such source.
- There are also some specific indicators of likely notability listed in the relevant section(s) of the subject-specific notability guideline for sports, WP:NSPORT. Obviously we would then need not just your claim of meeting one of those, but actual evidence supporting such a claim, by way of citations to reliable published sources.
- Beside the notability point, the contents of your draft need to be much better referenced. In articles on living people (WP:BLP), anything potentially contentious, all private personal and family details, and any direct quotations – in other words, pretty much every material statement you make – must be clearly supported by inline citations to reliable published sources, or else removed. As a bare minimum, every paragraph must have at least one citation, and also end in one, and that is only really enough for very short paragraphs where the same source genuinely supports everything in it. Your draft has approx 25 paragraphs, of which only three are referenced, and one of the references cites your own website.
- Note also that everything included in the draft must come from reliable published sources. Even if you know something about yourself, which you know/believe to be true, that cannot go in the draft unless you can find a reliable published source, preferaby a secondary one, that verifies it. In fact, you shouldn't be writing the draft at all based on what you know, you should only be summarising what reliable sources have previously published about you; see WP:GOLDENRULE. Telling the world what you want to tell the world about yourself is considered inherently promotional here, see WP:YESPROMO.
- And finally, as already pointed out, you shouldn't even be summarising published sources to create this draft, since Wikipedia discourages autobiographies. The vast majority of our articles are written by editors with no connection to the subject they write about. One day there could be an article published about you, but it should ideally not be written by you or anyone associated with you.

Question about decline of Draft:Prime Educational and Social Trust
[edit]Hi DoubleGrazing, thank you for reviewing Draft:Prime Educational and Social Trust. I have a declared conflict of interest (I volunteer with the trust), so I'd value your view before deciding whether to continue. The draft rests on two independent pieces with in-depth coverage: a Mediapart report by Jennifer Carlos (5 March 2025) and a Der Spiegel article written by Maria Stöhr (30 March 2025), each with its own editorial process. Both describe the trust's shelter, Janani Home, in detail: its work with police and local authorities, its use of the POCSO Act, and the services it provides. Since Janani Home is the trust's main operation rather than a separate organisation, I had understood this as significant coverage of the trust. Could you let me know whether your concern is that the coverage is of the shelter rather than the trust, that both pieces come from the same photographer's project, or something else? If more independent sources are needed, I'll wait until they exist rather than resubmit. Thank you. Divaladha (talk) 06:07, 22 October 2026 (UTC)
- @Divaladha: the Spiegel piece isn't really about Janani Home, let alone Prime Educational and Social Trust, it's more about the people the photographer met there. The Mediapart one I can't fully see, since it's behind a paywall, but given that it was written by the same photographer I expect it's similar to the Spiegel article.
- In any case, the WP:ORG notability guideline requires at least three secondary sources, each of which must be reliable and independent, and provide significant coverage directly of the subject. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 06:26, 22 October 2026 (UTC)
- @DoubleGrazing: Thanks for the clear explanation. I'll leave the draft as it is until substantial independent coverage of the trust itself exists. Divaladha (talk) 06:30, 22 October 2026 (UTC)
Ghana Universities Debate Championship
[edit]Hello DoubleGrazing, and thank you for reviewing Draft:Ghana Universities Debate Championship.
Following your feedback, I’ve rebuilt the draft so that it now relies mainly on independent news coverage, with university websites kept only for minor facts. Before resubmitting, I’d appreciate your view on whether these sources meet the notability bar:
- Citi FM, 29 June 2016, “2016 Universities Debate Championship held in Cape Coast”: a full report on the third edition, covering its theme, participating institutions, motions, format, sponsors and results.
- Citi Newsroom, 27 July 2019, “UCC beats KNUST, UG others to win Universities Debate Championship”: covers the sixth edition, participating universities, team numbers and format.
- Ghanaian Times, 18 October 2022, “KNUST wins Ghana Universities debate” (Michael D. Abayateye): covers the eighth edition, its theme, the organising association and full results.
- 3News, “KNUST wins 6th Ghana Universities Debate Championship”: covers the ninth edition.
- Citi Newsroom, 24 February 2024, “KNUST VC thrilled after university wins big during debate championships” (Doris Lonta): covers the ninth edition result.
If these still wouldn’t be enough, could you advise what kind of coverage would be needed? I’m happy to keep improving it.
For transparency, I’ve disclosed my connection to the topic on the draft’s talk page.
Thank you for your time. Desmondd23 (talk) 03:49, 25 October 2026 (UTC)

- @Zainulabideen 12: I've no idea if he's notable. You cited four 'sources', none of which was useful in the slightest: three of them pointed to the Imperial College website home page, and the fourth to the Fancyclopaedia home page, not to the specific URLs that your citations claimed to be citing. Yet another reason why you shouldn't use LLM.
- BTW, what is your interest in David L. Clements? -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 09:38, 25 October 2026 (UTC)
- Dear Grazing, I have no interest in David L. Clements. It is my first time writing an article, so I randomly chose him. If you have a subject you can give me, I will write an article on it. And for the LLM, I was seeing whether Wikipedia rejects or accepts such articles. I am happy to see that there are helpful editors to guide newcomers. Zainulabideen 12 (talk) 09:59, 25 October 2026 (UTC)
- @Zainulabideen 12: "randomly chose" seems borderline contradictory in terms. When you chose to write about Clements, out of the millions of potentially notable people not to mention billions of other possible subject, there was presumably a reason; I was enquiring as to what that reason might be? -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 10:28, 25 October 2026 (UTC)

Question regarding Draft : AP (Thailand) Public Company Limited
[edit]Hi DoubleGrazing,
I just saw your note on the rejection. I want to sincerely apologize—I had absolutely no idea about the past promotional campaigns or the multiple deleted drafts.
I only tried to create this page because AP is one of the biggest publicly traded developers here in Thailand. Since it has an annual revenue of over $1.3 billion USD and has been listed on our stock exchange for 20+ years, I thought it would easily pass the notability guidelines.
That’s why I declared my COI, completely rewrote the text to be neutral, and used independent sources like Forbes Thailand and The Standard this time.
I respect your decision and understand if you are tired of seeing this company name. Could you let me know if there's any way forward here based on the new reliable sources, or if the topic is just permanently blacklisted?
Thanks for everything you do to keep Wikipedia clean. Dontcoolwithme (talk) 10:32, 25 October 2026 (UTC)
At some point, when convenient, I would like a further pair of eyes, please
[edit]Please see my user talk page in the section 'draft' where I am being challenged by an editor who declares their use of AI in their draft, discloses a COI in this version of their user page, and who I believe needs to make a full WP:PAID declaration since they derive, broadly construed, a benefit from their role at the outset they have come here to advertise. 🇵🇸🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦🇵🇸 19:26, 25 October 2026 (UTC)
Question about deletion of Draft:Doniyor Kayumov
[edit]Hello DoubleGrazing,
My draft, Draft:Doniyor Kayumov, was deleted under G11 for unambiguous advertising or promotion.
I understand Wikipedia's requirement for neutral, non-promotional writing. Could you please explain which parts of my draft were considered promotional and whether I may submit a revised version?
I have a conflict of interest regarding the subject, and I want to make sure I follow Wikipedia's guidelines before taking any further steps.
Thank you for your time. Doniyor Kayumoov (talk) 21:11, 25 October 2026 (UTC)
- @Doniyor Kayumoov (talk page watcher) Unless you are seeking to advertse whatever the subject was/is then you may most assuredly create a neutral, well referenced draft om the same topic. Deletions under G11 are commonplace, though we wish that were not the case. Wikipedia wishes for new articles, but it cannot accept anything which even smells like advertising. 🇵🇸🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦🇵🇸 21:32, 25 October 2026 (UTC)
- @Doniyor Kayumoov: the entire draft was promotional, because it was you telling the world about yourself and your exploits.
- What did you expect to achieve by submitting another copy of the exact same content? -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 06:37, 26 October 2026 (UTC)

could you please elaborate on this topic. thanks Jimmybobjoe21 (talk) 13:47, 27 October 2026 (UTC)
- @Jimmybobjoe21: seriously? Do I really need to explain to you why
"Whales are great bro"
would not make a viable encyclopaedia article? Or for that matter, your Draft:NOT SILLY!! Sirius topic that is 100% real! draft, which was also deleted. - If you wish to share your views on marine life with the world, I suggest you find a social media or blogging site or some such, there are aplenty out there.
- Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, and you are very welcome to contribute towards building it. If, on the other hand, you continue to demonstrate that you are not here for that reason, you may find yourself blocked from editing at all. Your call. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 13:54, 27 October 2026 (UTC)
- i am not allowed to use social media bro Jimmybobjoe21 (talk) 16:52, 27 October 2026 (UTC)
- also that doesn't explain the "harassment label" Jimmybobjoe21 (talk) 16:53, 27 October 2026 (UTC)
- @Jimmybobjoe21: the decline template doesn't say the draft was harassment. It says (emphasis added):
This draft has been declined because it meets one of these criteria:
- attack page: it is created primarily to disparage, threaten, or harass a subject;
- negative biography: it contains unsourced, negative material about a living person;
- vandalism: it contains jokes, hoaxes, nonsense, or gibberish.

Hello I'd like a verification that edits on "Ghais Guevara" will be made
[edit]I'd like to drop this issue as soon as possible and I require verification that the edits will be made before doing so. CitationNeededNuAfrika (talk) 14:40, 27 October 2026 (UTC)
- @CitationNeededNuAfrika: I'm unable to "verify" or promise either that particular edits are made, or that this is done "as soon as possible". There are many editors patrolling edit requests; I am normally not one of them. And as I already explained, we have over 1,200 edit requests pending.
- You could, although seem reluctant, to help, by clearly and specifically detailing in your request what you want changed and why, and supporting your requests with reliable sources. You also need to add the {{edit COI}} template to each request, otherwise they will not appear in the list of pending requests. You did this with your first request; but not in the second (I added it for you there), or the most recent one. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 15:13, 27 October 2026 (UTC)
- It is absolutely insane that you think I have time for that. Let me know when the article is removed.
- This isn't a mere edit. It's a priority because the identity is directly requesting it. You could give me permission to edit and you won't, there's no need for anyone to wait.
- I'm not partaking in the glaring oversights of your domain regarding people's personal requests anymore. Please let me know when the article is removed or what's the fastest way i can make it happen. CitationNeededNuAfrika (talk) 15:18, 27 October 2026 (UTC)

[edit]Hi DG, I have offered to restore a deleted article to draftspace; assuming I am asked to do it, do I undelete the page normally and then move it to draftspace, or is there a way to move and undelete in one fell swoop? - I'm not aware of a way to undelete to anywhere other than the original location. (Which, TBH, doesn't really tell you much more than I'm not aware. Am still noob 2.) -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 08:27, 28 October 2026 (UTC)

External Links Issue?
[edit]Hello. You left a message on my page that one or more external links have been removed as they seemed inapropriate for an encyclopedia. Apart from the official website of the opinion polling company, I didn't seem to remember adding any site on the draft. Also, COI link not necessary. I am based in Madrid, and the company is in the Philippines. Not an employee. Just want to improve coverage on Philippine topics. Thanks. Lakambinifactchecker (talk) 13:37, 1 November 2026 (UTC)
- @Lakambinifactchecker: you added a link to that company's website into the body text of an article, but external links like that are not allowed. You may cite content on the said website, if it supports something in the article which is currently unsupported, but even then just adding gratuitous citations (esp. to a commercial organisation) can be considered link spam.
- I'm not sure what you mean by "COI link" – did you mean the COI query I posted on your talk page? I felt that was indeed needed, given that, apart from a few talk page edits, your edits are all to do with that one company. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 13:44, 1 November 2026 (UTC)
- I have only been on Wiki for 7 days and most of my work delved on Alex Eala, fact checking the education achievements of Filipino politicians, and now opinion polling. Lakambinifactchecker (talk) 13:58, 1 November 2026 (UTC)
- Got this. I will review the draft again. Would you mean, External Links at the end of the website is generally not advised? I will remove it then. Thanks. Lakambinifactchecker (talk) 14:04, 1 November 2026 (UTC)
- We don't allow external links inline, ie. in the body text; only citations. And citations need to have a reason, just adding a citation to a website for the purposes of creating a link to that site is of no benefit. You may add one or two links in the 'External links' section at the end of an article, but they must be directly related to the article subject, not be promotional, and not excessive in number. You can find our policy on linking at WP:EL. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 14:42, 1 November 2026 (UTC)

Notability Issue on Arkipelago Analytics
[edit]Hello. I saw your message on Arkipelago Analytics and I would be reediting the article based on your comments. Just wanted to check if the following might be regarded as notable references: - https://iiari.org/journal/article/trp/coping-with-stigma-factors-and-experiences-influencing-millennial-individuals-decision-to-remain-child-free/ - https://www.esquiremag.ph/life/sex-and-relationships/unmasking-the-commitment-phobic-man-a8162-20260209-bsc?ref=home_feed_1 - https://lifestyle.inquirer.net/552221/when-marriage-questions-become-the-main-course/ - https://www.scmp.com/week-asia/lifestyle-culture/article/3343464/almost-half-filipinos-willing-trust-cheating-partners-again-survey-says - https://www.thestar.com.my/aseanplus/aseanplus-news/2025/07/02/fewer-weddings-more-live-ins-filipino-families-are-changing-and-the-numbers-prove-it - https://opinion.inquirer.net/181481/the-worth-of-our-weight Lakambinifactchecker (talk) 13:55, 1 November 2026 (UTC)
- @Lakambinifactchecker (talk page watcher) You are suggesting that a pre-review be given, really. Instead, consider the following:
- We require references from significant coverage about the topic of the article, and independent of it, in multiple secondary sources which are WP:RS please. See WP:42. Please also see WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources and WP:SELFPUB which has clear limitations on self published sources. Providing sufficient references, ideally one per fact referred to, that meet these tough criteria is likely to allow this article to remain. Lack of them or an inability to find them is likely to mean that the topic is not suitable for inclusion, certainly today.
- After having considered it with care you will have the tools to make your own judgement about the references you have currently and the references you are asking about. Do they meet the criteria? Use them; no? lose them and, if you can't find a good one, the fact and the existing reference need to go. 🇵🇸🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦🇵🇸 14:01, 1 November 2026 (UTC)

- @Lakambinifactchecker I have edited the draft as DG suggested. I have checked a few of the references. None of those I have checked are about the company, just about specific surveys. I would struggle not to push it back to you for substantial research were it submitted for review right now
- Our role as reviewers is to seek to ensure that an article will not immediately be subject to one of our deletion processes when it is accepted. That is why we push it back to the author. We want to accept articles. 🇵🇸🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦🇵🇸 14:12, 1 November 2026 (UTC)

[edit]News and updates for administrators from the past month (October 2026).

- Following an RfC, election to ArbCom now requires at least 60% support. Successful candidates normally serve two-year terms, with one-year terms retained for filling vacancies. Proposals to change the election rules may now be added throughout the year and discussed on the talk page; formal discussion remains in September.
- Following an RfC, first-time reviewers’ reviews require an experienced reviewer’s check, and GA requirements now include alt text and accessible tables. Featured articles may receive GA status during removal discussions if they meet GA criteria. Backlog drives will run every five months, with a points leaderboard and awards for the top five participants.
- Self-nominations for the Arbitration Committee are open until 11 November 2026.
- Ongoing backlog drives: Copy editing, Unreference articles
Just out of curiosity, I see that you deleted it as G11 while I was reading it and considering whether to reject it or tag it for speedy deletion.
