Hey Ottomanarchives1, The best way to clean up duplicated sources with different syntax is to pick one fully-formatted, standard citation template as the master definition, assign it a clear name="..." attribute in its first full tag, and replace all subsequent duplicate or differently-styled mentions with self-closing tags (<ref name="name" />) Try WP:REF.

Dear sir:

Not that I know of. It says G5 and that the entry was contributed by a banned or blocked person (Chinese).

The information in the entry was all correct. I would like to have it reposted. Is that possible? As it stands now, I can't even view the blocked page by myself so that I might use the information to post on my own. I have written 7 monographs on Japanese history, held 2 endowed chairs, and been a Visiting Professor at Harvard. Please advise. It would be great if someone would help me. I have a Wikipedia Account, user name Wwfarris 33.

There are five chief processes under which pages are deleted. The deletion summary tells you which:

1. Very brief summaries such as "A7" or "CSD A7", as well as things like "spam" and {{db-bio}}, usually refer to speedy deletion.
2. A summary including "prod" or "PROD" usually refers to proposed deletion.
3. A summary including "BLP prod" or "sticky prod" usually refers to proposed deletion of biographies of living persons.
4. A summary including "AfD", "Articles for deletion", or a similar acronym usually means the deletion is the outcome of a deletion discussion.
5. A summary including "copyvio", or "CP" usually means the deletion is the result of a copyright problem, with the issue not being resolved within two weeks.

Go to the requested article/page and click the edit button, some pages are protected so you cannot edit them, and the way to cite stuff is to click the “ button and enter the desired book/website.

If it’s on yourself, take a look at WP:FAMOUS. If you are notable, you need INDEPENDENT AND RELIABLE sources. No tabloids. Only accredited sources like the Wall Street Journal or New York Times.

Hi Bennett Li11, I see that you've been assigned as my mentor: I hope this message finds you well and in high spirits!

I'm new here, but I've been a Wikipedia reader for most of my life. I'm a 3rd year chemical engineering PhD student in the US with an interest in pharmacology, polymers, nanoparticles, and general chemistry, amongst other things, and these are the kinds of articles I'd most like to contribute to.

For the time being, I've been thinking of getting started mostly by taking photos of different chemical compounds and adding them to the Wikipedia articles covering those compounds, and perhaps adding some additional information to the articles concerning what applications they might find in research or industry.

Having said all that, I don't want to start making changes willy-nilly and in a disruptive fashion, so I was hoping I could ask you to show me the ropes as I ease into participating in Wikipedia.

Go ahead and go to Wikimedia Commons to post pictures as it is the image/video sharing wiki project. You can use Wikimedia pictures on Wikipedia.

One thing that I see on many unexperienced editor’s user pages is that they try to write a page about themself on their userpage. I would say to scrap it and use that for barnstars and other awards you may have.

Two of these software titles already have dedicated standalone articles on Wikipedia, while the other two do not.Current Status on English Wikipedia. Insightful S-PLUS: Already exists as S-PLUS. STATISTICA: Already exists as Statistica BioDiscovery ImaGene: No standalone article.MDS Analytical Technologies GenePix Pro: No standalone article. I do not have enough time to make articles for MDS and BioDiversity. You can ask WP:Tea for help on this.
