(A) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/~2026-34946-07 this temporary IP is using such a abusive n hostile language towards others in the edit summaries and continues to vandalize the article Tumm Se Tumm Tak.

(B) User:AndySing1404 continues to do disruptive editing in the cast section of Jhanak and I explained him in his talk page not to do so. Also he uses misleading edit summaries such as "Fixed Typo" or "Added links".

@Rudrobio, you can report this kind of thing at WP:AIV. When it's really obvious block evasion, go there and say basically what you just said here - the name of the account that needs blocking, the name of the account that was previously blocked, and the page where they're doing the same obvious edits. Hello,

Not trying to canvas, I'm trying to diffuse something before it ends up on ANI, and you're a reasonable admin in my experience. Talk:Superpower has been a mess for a few months, and it doesn't look like it's getting any better. The issue already failed at Wikipedia:Dispute_resolution_noticeboard#Superpower. A recent RfC ended with no clear consensus. I posted on NPOV noticeboard, and don't want to blast the situation in such a way that the passionate participants get sanctioned. Would appriciate it if you took a look and could help calm down the situation, I'm not looking for you to weigh in on content. If possible, suggest a way to mediate the problem. Sorry if this is inappropriate, I'm going to try and step back for at least 24 hours as the arguments are starting to spiral (again) and I'm getting frustrated. Slap me with a trout if necessary. No problem, life happens. I was pretty frustrated when I commented here, but I think the situation is finally simmering down and has so far avoided ANI (honestly, I'm shocked). After tossing around suggestions that I thought were neutral, today I implemented a WP:BOLD edit based on the feedback those got, and so far the worst criticism is that it is "too stylistically dry," which probably means it's comes off as sufficiently disinterested to avoid a further flame war. Unfortunately, I don't think the talk page would ever reach a satisfying conclusion otherwise. I appriciate your time. If you have room on your watchlist and are so inclined, I'd appriciate if you could add that talk page. Account creation experiments

Several experiments to increase successful account creation have delivered significant results.

  • An updated message shown to logged-out mobile users who try to edit produced a 27% relative increase in account creation and is being scaled to all wikis. (T424595)
  • A new account menu button in the mobile web header, A/B tested across five Wikipedias with nearly 8 million participants, made logged-out mobile users 25% more likely to create an account, with no significant difference in constructive editing behavior. (T428220)
  • A simpler post-edit dialog for temporary account holders increased permanent account creation by 87% (relative), converting more temp editors into registered ones. (T416418)
    The redesigned account creation form increases registration by a relative 24.4%
  • We also redesigned the account creation form itself (T409236): adding real-time username validation, a concise summary of the username policy, a "reveal password" option, and a simplified design aligned with Codex guidelines. In an A/B test on English Wikipedia mobile, users who saw the redesigned form created permanent accounts at a rate of 20.4%, compared to 16.4% for the control group (a 24.4% relative increase).

Revise Tone structured task

Revise Tone helps newcomers identify passages that may contain non-encyclopedic language and guides them through revising the tone. In A/B testing on Arabic, English, French, and Portuguese Wikipedias, newcomer task completion rates were 38.7% higher than the default Copyedit task, with no decrease in edit quality. The test ended July 9, and the feature is now available to everyone on these wikis, configurable via Community Configuration. We plan to release Revise Tone to more wikis.

Automated mentor list cleanup

Communities can now automatically mark inactive mentors as away or remove them from mentorship entirely (which automatically reassigns their mentees). Inactivity is based on edits, and talk page responses count, so mentors answering mentee questions remain active. We recommend enabling both options together; administrators can enable them via Special:CommunityConfiguration and review the mentor list at Special:ManageMentors.

Growth features for Wikidata

Growth features are now available at Wikidata, including a simplified Newcomer Homepage, Mentorship, the Impact module, Community Updates and the Help Panel.

Early concepts for evolving the Newcomer Homepage into a personalized 'Home' that grows with contributors.

Quick declines in AfC Queue

Hi there,

I saw that you already chatted with SulfurBoy against quick declines and resubmissions, but I'm questioning some of the rejections that do not make sense when I reviewed the articles. I don't want to discount his efforts, but I do not understand the logic. Here a few a selected from all the rejected instances:

  1. Draft:Bruno Miranda (musician), who holds a Latin Grammy Award, which is quite frankly notable in the industry for Latin music, but was rejected because "Latin Grammy is not Grammys" based on the feedback provided
  2. Draft:Sara Afzali has in-depth report from BBC Persia and Slovenian outlets, yet it's rejected somehow (claimed that it violates WP:42)
  3. Draft:Salahuddin_Ammar - a quick Google search will be sufficient to explain Ammar's role in July Uprising, yet he's not 'notable'.

Again, I'm not discounting his effort because most of the AfC rejections are warranted, but these quick rejections demonstrates something is wrong in the process. Also, it begs the question of what 'notability' means within the scope of each of those individuals above: Is notability exclusive to presence of a given content in Western media? Is Wikipedia meant for worldwide level of notability (which then begs the question for the existence of many other sites).

@ABehjat, if you think individual declines don't make sense, please ask the reviewer in question for further details. "Notability" means WP:N, or in short, WP:42. I'm not seeing the in-depth report from BBC Persia on Sara Afzali? There are two BBC articles in the footnotes, but they're both written by her. For Ammar, reviewers are reviewing based on what they see in the draft - they're not going to do further research unless they want to improve the draft themselves.   1. Am I allowed to change the title of the contested discussion from "On User:Junghiano's bizarre transcriptions of heterosyllabic consonant clusters (+more)" (WP:TALKHEADPOV) to "On transcriptions of [sC] clusters (+more)" both in the page where it was created and in the pages where the creator of the discussion linked it?
  2. Am I allowed to restore the previous versions of the pages where the other user made his edits and reverted my restorations (WP:BRD)?
  3. What can I do if he reverts me again after doing what I said in the previous 2 points and if he threatens to report me again or if he reports me in WP:ANI?

Hello, and thank you for a previous answer. I think I had read somewhere that accusations of sockpuppetry qualifies as a personal attacks if they are not followed by a filing of a SPI? But, sadly, I either doing something wrong, or Wikipedia search is really not good: I'm trying to search for a message with all the words from the query present, but it provide a very long list with a partial matches. I can't use "Exactly this text" option, because I don't remember the exact line. Accusing someone of being a sockpuppet without evidence is a personal attack, yes. It doesn't necessarily need to involve filing an SPI to be legitimate. But people can't just say "you're a sock, so I'm not listening to you" without reasonable grounds. WP:SOCK and WP:SOCKHELP might be useful if you haven't found them yet. "Without evidence" remark would mean that people can say "I think you're a sock [my reasons here]", but not file SPI, and discuss it somewhere else, and then just withdraw accusation in case their grounds would turn out to be not reasonable enough? That they're just shouldn't do so without any backing whatsoever? I had read SOCK, but not SOCKHELP prior; I failed to find a direct mention of related in the former, except a really vaguely built phrase related to meatpuppetry, in the latter there is Calling someone a "sockpuppet" or "sockmaster" on a talk page is considered uncivil, so don't do it. Report them to WP:SPI instead., but it's unclear if it about any form of accusation, or about usage of direct terms, does "uncivil" is perfectly the same as a "personal attack", and also that essay is labeled as an advice or opinions of one or more Wikipedia contributors ... not ... a Wikipedia policy, does it have any actual weight?

There are plenty of places where saying someone is a sockpuppet and laying out the evidence would not be in violation of any policy. You could do this at ANI, for example, or on the talk page of an admin who deals with sockpuppetry.

So if I would write here or at ANI "I think that Username1 is a sock of Username2 because their style looks similar to me" it would be ok then. But it shouldn't be done on their userpage. The only (I hope) thing I still miss is what would be qualified as evidence in this case? "I think that they're similar" is a behavioural evidence, even if it wrong; it would be just faulty evidence then, but an evidence still. It would mean that it would be possible to provide some evidence like that any time then.

For the first: context and delivery will matter. Saying something obviously wrong or obviously in bad faith would not go over well. For the second: honestly, I have no idea why he said that. September 2026 Backlog Drive | New pages patrol
  • On 1 September 2026, a one-month backlog drive for new pages patrol will begin at a particularly important time for NPP.
  • The backlog has now passed 30,000 unreviewed articles, a level that has been described in current NPP discussions as exceptionally high and potentially difficult to overcome through normal reviewing alone. Backlog drives are one of the few measures that have historically produced a noticeable reduction in the backlog, so the participation of as many active patrollers as possible will matter this month.
  • If you can review during September, please make articles your priority. Every article that is reviewed is a meaningful reduction in the backlog. With the queue at its current size, even a relatively small increase in the number of articles each patroller reviews can add up to a substantial difference over the course of the month.
  • This is a hybrid drive, so redirect reviewing is still included. Redirects can be a useful way for newer patrollers to get comfortable with NPP and can help people build up to reviewing articles. However, the main goal of this drive is to tackle the article backlog, and experienced patrollers are particularly encouraged to spend as much of their available reviewing time on articles as they can.
  • Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled.
  • Each article review will earn 1 point, while each redirect review will earn 0.2 points.
  • Streak awards will be given out based on consistently hitting point thresholds for each week of the drive.
  • Barnstars will also be granted for re-reviewing articles previously reviewed by other patrollers during the drive.
  • If you have been thinking about doing more NPP, this is an especially good month to jump in. Whether you can review a few pages or hundreds, every review helps. And if you are already an active patroller, please consider whether you can put in some additional time during September to help bring the backlog back under control.
