Hi mentor I'm on Draft:Appinventiv and would appreciate feedback on whether the current sources establish notability, and whether any sections still read as promotional or rely heavily on primary sources. can you help in cleanup this draft and how to go forward? --Pwnstuone (talk) 11:22, 24 June 2026 (UTC)
Hello,
I am closely following a Bangladeshi painter. He has been holding solo and group exhibitions in prominent places in Dhaka . He also has an art-school. There are several news-reports on him too.
Is it okay for me to build a wikipedia entry for him? There already is a wikipedia page on him in Bengali. --Takian PY (talk) 12:42, 24 June 2026 (UTC)
- Hello @Takian PY,
- Possibly, yes — but the key question is not whether the person is an artist or already has a Bengali Wikipedia article. The main question is whether they meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines.
- For an artist, you would generally need significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. News reports, magazine features, interviews, reviews of exhibitions, and coverage by reputable media outlets can all help, provided they discuss the artist in some detail and are not simply announcements or promotional pieces.
- Holding solo and group exhibitions, operating an art school, and having media coverage are all positive indicators, but you should carefully assess the sources to determine whether they provide substantial independent coverage rather than routine event listings or publicity.
- The existence of a Bengali Wikipedia article does not automatically mean the subject qualifies for an English Wikipedia article, although it may be a useful starting point for finding sources.
- Before creating the article, I would recommend gathering the strongest independent sources available and reviewing the guidance at WP:ARTIST and the general notability guideline (WP:GNG). If the available sources provide significant coverage, then creating an article may be appropriate.
- If you'd like, you can share a few of the sources here and editors can help assess whether they are sufficient for notability.
- Best, wishes Ampimd (talk) 17:53, 24 June 2026 (UTC)
Question from GrassTHEGrass12 (16:52, 24 June 2026)
[edit]How can I find specific information about non-mainstream music genres without looking at Fandom Wiki or Youtube videos? --GrassTHEGrass12 (talk) 16:52, 24 June 2026 (UTC)
- Hello @GrassTHEGrass12,
- That depends a bit on the genre you're researching, but some good places to start are books, academic publications, music magazines, newspaper archives, and library databases. These often provide more detailed and reliable information than fan-created sites.
- You can also search for interviews with musicians, producers, or music historians, as well as articles from established music publications. If you're researching a genre for Wikipedia, reliable independent secondary sources are usually the most useful.
- Could you tell me which genre you're interested in? The answer may vary depending on whether it's a widely studied genre, a regional genre, or a more recent music movement. Ampimd (talk) 17:58, 24 June 2026 (UTC)

Question from StickJockey786 (01:56, 9 July 2026)
[edit]Hello @Ampimd, you assigned my mentor, yesterday I uploaded images on wikimedia commons with the license (CC0), the are used on the article of K2 Airways Flight 1732 and quite a few other ones. It is nominated for removal because it does not provide enough information. The images were posted on X by Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority, and that post is the only source of those images, it does not state who took them. Now I don't have a problem with their removal, but should I remove it myself or let them? --StickJockey786 (talk) 01:56, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
- StickJockey786, I think you might've missed Ampimd just as they stepped away on a break. They should be back soon. The images have already been removed. Mathglot (talk) 23:09, 25 July 2026 (UTC)
You're invited to the Mentorship noticeboard
[edit]Hi, Ampimd. You are cordially invited to the Wikipedia:Mentorship noticeboard. I get the impression sometimes that we mentors are each toiling in our own backyard, quietly answering mentee questions with little to no interaction with other mentors. I think we have a lot to share and learn from each other, and and that's what the board is for. I realize you have been on a break, but that's okay; your input would be valuable. Please take the § Survey when you get there. Looking forward to hearing your feedback! Mathglot (talk) 00:18, 26 July 2026 (UTC)

The article Matthew Ofori Dunga has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Ampimd nominated for G7 with the following rational, however this does not qualify for G7. "I am nominating this article for deletion following a reassessment of the subject's notability. At the time I created the article, the Ghana Premier League was considered a fully professional league under the then-applicable WP:NFOOTY/WP:FPL guidance, which influenced my assessment of the subject's notability. The football notability guidance has since changed under WP:FPL and the Ghana Premier League is currently listed among leagues that are not fully professional. Having reassessed the subject under the current WP:GNG and WP:NSPORT requirements, I do not believe there is sufficient significant coverage in reliable, independent sources to establish notability. Most of the available coverage consists of routine football reporting, statistics, or brief mentions. For these reasons, I am nominating the article for deletion."
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion based on established criteria.
If the proposed deletion has already been carried out, you may request undeletion of the article at any time.
This is an automated notification. Please refer to the page's history for further information. DatBot (talk) 00:30, 27 August 2026 (UTC)
Question from Sarita Sanjay Chauhan (10:17, 28 August 2026)
[edit]How to correct a name spelling in

A tag has been placed on Category:Swiss expatriate sportspeople in the Ghana indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Liz Read! Talk! 16:57, 31 August 2026 (UTC)
Hello! I am working with a group of friends, an online writing group and we have been tasked to create a profile on wikipedia for someone. How can I do this? --Lotsofsun (talk) 11:39, 12 September 2026 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) Hello, Lotsofsun, and welcome! Wikipedia:Your First Article is a good place to start, but make sure that you've read through notability first as it's the biggest hurdle most articles face for inclusion on Wikipedia. This guide breaks it down a little more if that's helpful. Also, if you were tasked by someone related to the subject in any way, you'll also need to be aware of our conflict of interest guidelines. Creating an article on Wikipedia as a newcomer is a bit like trying to build a bike before you've ridden one, so I would encourage editing some existing articles first to get a feel for it. There's plenty of help available, though – you can always swing by the Teahouse for help from a number of experienced editors, and my talk page is open as well. Let me know if you have any further questions, and happy editing, Perfect4th (talk) 15:32, 17 September 2026 (UTC)
Question from FranklinInk (13:39, 12 September 2026)
[edit]Forgive me, because I know I botched this up. There was a table in the article I edited, and I tried to put the source I got the edit from, but it stopped it from being a live link. I didn’t know how to get to that portion of the table properly, either. Please forgive me for doing it incorrectly. --FranklinInk (talk) 13:39, 12 September 2026 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) Hi, FranklinInk, and welcome! I'm Perfect4th, another mentor; I assume this is about Dale Sanders (hiker)? No worries, references can be complicated to learn in the source code editor. You might try the Visual editor and see if it makes references easier, if that's a method you prefer. Anyhow, the nice thing about Wikipedia is that most edits are fairly easy to undo (or redo), so fixing things is no big deal. Feel free to ask again here or at my talk page if you have further questions/comments about editing Wikipedia, and happy editing! Perfect4th (talk) 19:27, 14 September 2026 (UTC)
Hello. As you can see, I've just submitted an entry for Eleni Hall Manolaraki. I found her name in red text yesterday, so I tried to create an entry for her. Could you could please help me with this entry via co-authoring (and/or direct it to those who would do so)? In my condition as a total new user here, I've done the best I can. It's surely time for some direct help. Thank you. --RinerTF (talk) 16:03, 14 September 2026 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) Hi, RinerTF, and welcome to Wikipedia! I'm Perfect4th, another mentor, and I assume you're referring to Draft:Eleni Manolaraki? In looking over it, the draft looks like it could use more reliable sources – Wikipedians don't consider Wikipedia to fulfill our criteria for reliable sources because it is user-generated, among other things. Sources are also used to help establish notability, a significant criteria for inclusion. Wikipedians are almost entirely volunteers, so many of them work on things that particularly interest them and we tend to group ourselves that way, so you may find some help if you ask on the talk page of the Women in Red WikiProject. You can also ask more general editing questions at the Teahouse. Let me know if you have any other questions, and happy editing, Perfect4th (talk) 15:44, 17 September 2026 (UTC)
Question from GreenCarnations (10:24, 17 September 2026)
[edit]Hello! I have a question, I'm working on translating an article alongside the machine translation (I see what it does and then carefully review it) do you know what counts as enough human made changes? Because I was quite positively surprised by the machine and didn't need to change a whole lot to be honest. --GreenCarnations (talk) 10:24, 17 September 2026 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) Hi, GreenCarnations, and welcome! You don't necessarily need to make changes for the sake of simply having changes. Mainly you want to ensure the content follows Wikipedia's core content policies. Our Translation information page (and especially the Content section) are helpful guides, especially if you make sure to follow the links included there, but feel free to ask on any points there as well if you have more specific questions – here, at the Teahouse, or my talk page if you like. Happy editing! Perfect4th (talk) 15:38, 17 September 2026 (UTC)
