Hi 3KnoWell! Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. We hope to see you there!
Delivered by HostBot on behalf of the Teahouse hosts 16:06, 19 March 2021 (UTC) |
An article you recently created, KnoWell, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. In addition, this appears to be an autobiography, which are discouraged.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Draft categories
[edit]Hello. You have just removed the "draft categories" template for the third time from Draft:Fred Paul Partus. Drafts are not allowed to be categorized with main space articles, so the draft categories template must be used while the article is in draft. Please read Wikipedia:DRAFTNOCAT for more information on this, and on alternative methods of disabling categories while an article is in draft. Thank you. Wikishovel (talk) 11:16, 27 September 2025 (UTC)
- I am new to this. I thought the article was still in draft.
- I just resubmitted the article.
- I personally know Fred Partus.
- Listening to him describe his work as a pioneer in inventing fiber optic technology should not be lost to history because as an engineer his was not getting third party articles written about him.
- Fred is 82 and I am trying to give him the credit due for basically inventing the backbone of the internet. 2600:1700:28A0:7C60:5C33:5261:898E:7A3 (talk) 11:24, 27 September 2025 (UTC)
- That's right, the article is still in draft, even while it's submitted for review, and that's why we have to disable the categories, until the draft is published. This has nothing to do with Dr. Partus' notability, it's just a rule for all draft articles on Wikipedia. Once the draft gets published, it will need the categories to be visible again. Thanks. Wikishovel (talk) 11:30, 27 September 2025 (UTC)
- @Wikishovel
- I am trying to learn. I apologize for the issue with categories.
- I thought the article is still in draft status because it was rejected due to lack of second sourced notability.
- Any help would be much appreciated. 3KnoWell (talk) 21:31, 27 September 2025 (UTC)
- That's no problem at all, we're all learning here. And I know it can be tough when we know a subject or a person well, yet can't quite get the secondary sourcing together to demonstrate notability. But Wikipedia has to set guidelines like that, or it would be flooded with even more junk than it is now. Wikishovel (talk) 21:38, 27 September 2025 (UTC)
