Software Finder is an American business-to-business software discovery and comparison platform based in Spokane, Washington. It operates in the software-marketplace and software-comparison space, where businesses compare and evaluate software before purchasing it.[1]

History

[edit]

Adnan Malik and Shane Elahi co-founded Software Finder. CTO Magazine dates the company's founding to September 2018, when Elahi took the role of chief operating officer.[2] In a 2026 interview, NextTechToday identified Malik as co-founder and chief executive officer, who discussed the company's place in software discovery as AI use in business research has grown.[1]

Platform

[edit]

Independent write-ups describe Software Finder as a B2B software marketplace that helps organizations evaluate software options, one of several such platforms alongside other review, comparison, and discovery sites.[1] Company executives, interviewed by trade publications, have discussed the reliability of online reviews, the rise of AI-generated content, and where human judgment fits into software purchasing decisions.[1][2]

Research & industry commentary

[edit]

Software Finder has published survey research on B2B software buying, AI adoption, software consolidation, employee onboarding, and workplace technology. Several of these studies have been cited or summarized by outside publications.

Software discovery and buying behavior

[edit]

In April 2026, ContentGrip reported that a Software Finder study found B2B buyers were increasingly starting their research with search engines and AI tools, with aggregator sites receiving a smaller share of that initial traffic.[3] The underlying survey, according to MarketingProfs, polled 556 B2B software buyers in January 2026.[4] A separate MarketingProfs piece drew on a March 2026 survey of 714 buyers and found that close to half used AI tools regularly when researching vendors.[5] ContentGrip also covered a related Software Finder study on AI-assisted evaluation, noting that even as AI adoption grew, buyers still relied on reviews, pricing, and peer input before deciding.[6]

Software consolidation and SaaS preferences

[edit]

A 2025 MarketingProfs summary of a Software Finder survey of 1,008 U.S. professionals found that some companies had canceled, downgraded, or replaced legacy software with AI-native alternatives.[7] The following year, ContentGrip reported on a related study showing businesses consolidating tools as part of wider AI adoption efforts.[8]

Employee onboarding

[edit]

Fast Company and Inc. each reported on the same Software Finder onboarding survey. Fast Company highlighted the finding that nearly half of employees with a poor onboarding experience said they wanted to leave within six months,[9] and Inc. framed the same data around the risk of losing new hires early.[10]

AI note-taking and meetings

[edit]

MarketingProfs covered a Software Finder survey of 1,000 full-time professionals on AI meeting-notes tools.[11] TechRadar picked up the same research, reporting that younger workers were using AI note-takers and sometimes skipping meetings as a result.[12] Forbes cited the same data in a piece weighing the tradeoffs of AI meeting assistants.[13]
