About

reetings, visitor, and welcome to my userpage. My interests are assorted and include, in no particular order, United States and Pennsylvania history, astronomy, spaceflight history, United States politics (mostly historical), law, medicine, the geology of Appalachia, selenology, and selenography. I do not limit myself to these, however, and one can expect to find me editing in a multitude of areas, from baseball to avant-funk, and a wholly disjointed smattering of others in between.

I've been editing Wikipedia as a hobby since 2008 and have found that editing hones a skillset, if modest, of some utility. Apart from the addition of (hopefully useful) content—the reason I joined and the reason I stay—most of the work I do on Wikipedia is of the low-key variety: copyediting articles, working at CSD/AIV/UAA, various routine maintenance, documenting historical U.S. elections, and generally keeping house at articles covering a multitude of subjects that interest me.

I became a Wikipedia administrator in 2011, allowing me to access a few additional tools and buttons on the technical side. I use that toolset mostly in the background, on a volunteer basis, to help keep things running smoothly wherever and whenever I can. If you think I can be of assistance, have a question, or would like to offer constructive criticism—administratively or otherwise—then I welcome and invite you to leave me a message; I will be glad to make your acquaintance if I have not already.

Barnstars and Gifts

		The Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
I thought a minute ago, after you beat me to a revert 4 times in a row, "If this guy beats me one more time, I'm gonna have to start throwing stars!"...I hope I didn't hit you in the head ;). Keep it up! 2D ℳaestro ^{Dribble/Scribble} 01:15, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

The Special Barnstar

You were far from the only editor to leave me a kind note when I announced my retirement, but I have to say that your comments were probably the most appreciated. Your words were very kind, and they meant a lot seeing as I don't believe we have interacted much during my time here. To discover that you have a positive impression of me was quite a pleasant surprise. Thank you. AutomaticStrikeout (T • C • Sign AAPT) 02:41, 22 April 2013 (UTC)

Good as gold!

In considering possible recipients for my Golden Editor Award, I remembered you. Specifically, I recalled the kind words you posted on my talk page several months ago. As noted in a section higher up on this page, the message you left for me at that time was very much appreciated. While the Golden Editor Award is a kind of lifetime achievement award that would not necessarily be awarded for a single act of kindness, your userpage shows that you have a respectable resume of content work. Based on my observations and my prior interaction with you, I happy to present you with this award. Happy editing! AutomaticStrikeout ? 19:40, 11 August 2013 (UTC)

		The Liberty Star
I have noticed the many Pennsylvanian historical elections articles that you have recently created, thus prompting me to award you this barnstar! Schuy B. (talk) 22:51, 22 December 2013 (UTC)

The Random Acts of Kindness Barnstar
Thank you for your message. Ehsan Shahamatnia (talk) 17:52, 20 November 2015 (UTC)

Quite a few years after the fact, but I'm currently working through the John Young page, and I'm impressed with how much work you put into getting the Apollo 16 page up to GA status. Balon Greyjoy (talk) 10:15, 1 October 2020 (UTC)

		The Featured Article Medal
By the authority vested in me by myself it gives me great pleasure to present you with this special, very exclusive award created just for we few, we happy few, this band of brothers, who have shed sweat, tears and probably blood, in order to be able to proudly claim "I too have taken an article to Featured status". Gog the Mild (talk) 00:12, 23 February 2022 (UTC)
