SmartSurvey is a UK-based provider of digital survey solutions (“SaaS”), designed to allow users to create surveys, publish them online and view results graphically in real time. The online survey product is a freemium service, so users can use it for free or pay to use advanced features on the Professional, Business and Enterprise levels.

SmartSurvey was launched by Smartline International Ltd in 2010, to fill a gap in the UK and European market for a user-friendly online survey tool that stores all its data on servers situated within the EU. In October 2015, the European Court of Justice ruled that the Safe Harbour Agreement was no longer valid, this meant that “personal data may only be transferred to third countries if that country provides an adequate level of protection”. ([Protection Directive]).

SmartSurvey is used by organisations such as Microsoft, Vodafone, Unilever, Experian, Mercedes-Benz and BAE Systems. SmartSurvey has undergone recent expansion, opening a new larger office in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, England to cater for the continued growth.
