Indefinite semi-protection: High-risk template or module. Over 500 substitutions, per a search for the subst'd string "Template:WikiProject please see" within project- and project talk-space. ScalarFactor (talk) 16:54, 14 October 2026 (UTC)

Declined High-risk thresholds work differently for substs since an edit to the template would only change future substs. Frequently-substed templates can be high-risk, but I don't think one with 500 uses over several years is. * Pppery * it has begun... 16:04, 15 October 2026 (UTC)

Semi-protection: Temporary account vandalism + being on the In the news column of the Main Page. In solidarity, Brynn Who Likes Editing | talk w/ me! 10:49, 15 October 2026 (UTC)

Reason: Requesting extended confirmed protection for this page.

The article has continued to experience disruptive editing despite semi-protection. Some editors have repeatedly added unsourced or inadequately sourced information, making it difficult to maintain the article's compliance with Wikipedia's verifiability policy.

Semi-protection has not adequately addressed the problem. I request extended confirmed protection to help prevent further disruption and allow established editors to improve the article's sourcing and content quality.

Thank you.

Current requests for reduction in protection level

[edit]
Request removal of protection from a page, or reducing the current protection level

Indefinite extended confirmed protection: I've attempted to contact the protecting admin several times, to no avail. For why protection needs to be lowered, kindly refer to my August request on their talk. All those reasons also apply to these other AfD templates, which were fully-protected by a now-former admin in 2006 and lowered to TE once it was introduced. Per the High-risk templates policy, there is consensus to permanently extended-confirmed protect templates with roughly 2500–5000 transclusions, and these AfD templates have just over 700 transclusions (the first two are substed wrappers of the last two). Plus, they are almost always used on relatively unimportant articles, not on articles with high pageviews (those rarely get nominated for deletion). Thus, there is not enough potential for disruption to justify protection in this case, especially given the changes needed to implement the RfC result. FaviFake (talk) 14:12, 13 October 2026 (UTC)

@Redrose64: I see you're still active. Any objection? ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 18:51, 13 October 2026 (UTC)

Reason: The name controversy on Wikipedia with the new name does not exist anymore, and the entire reason the article was protected at the time in July 2026 was because Donald J Trump Airport was not the common name, which now it is. So why is this article still protected? MathMan4 (talk) 20:11, 14 October 2026 (UTC)

Thanks for nominating, but  Not done at this time. It's not generally difficult for reviewers to assess notability for automatic WP:NGEO passes like these, and we don't really have evidence from these 500+ creations that that the nominee understands broader policies on notability, reliable sourcing, etc. (These articles are heavily reliant on primary sources like the U.S. Census Bureau.) I don't create many pages, so I'm unsure if I am qualified. However, I've been editing for a few years, have been part of my share of AfDs, and understand how things are done. I figured that since I've been getting a little more active on Wikipedia, I should know some of its tools and try to be helpful. However, I completely understand why I may not be qualified for this tool. I don't usally make these types of edits, but I been makeing an attempt to expaned my Wikipdiia knowadge such as been looking at GA, and recently helped get this page to GA: Bricks & Minifigs–Reckless Ben controversy. I don't know if I should even ask for this. I do edit quite a bit on Commons and have gotten a grasp of things. However, I actually don't do a lot of file moving; I am not a very technical editor, and I tend to keep to myself. So, I'm not all that sure how helpful this tool would be for me. I figured that it couldn't hurt, and at least ask. To whoever may be reviewing, I completely understand why this may be denied. Issac I Navarro (talk) 15:23, 14 October 2026 (UTC)

Thank you. I’m familiar with WP:HATCOLLECTING, which is why, throughout my whole time as an editor, I’ve never once asked for any tools.
I mostly keep to myself and focus on editing, and the smaller side of things. I’m only asking now because I’ve been around for a while and feel it’s time to branch out and try and be helpful in otherways. I understand your concerns, and I appreciate your honesty. I somewhat agree that I may not use this tool all that much. As I edit mostly in school related pages. I only recently been a Commons user. Thank you again, for your time.

Requests for new page reviewer

New page reviewer

[edit]

Hi there, I am a temporary new page reviewer, and I think (at least hope) that I have made a tangible difference to the backlog as well as finding articles with issues.

I think that I will not do many reviews a month, so I hope that this isn't a major issue, but I think that they will be useful when I do.

I also use this tool for AFC so that when I approve at AFC, I can also approve here to help with the backlog.

I would like a permanent right but understand if I need to be on probation or (have made mistakes, meaning no right at all).

Thanks for your consideration. Equivalent-Text2598 (talk) 20:25, 9 October 2026 (UTC)

Equivalent-Text2598, can you comment on your review of International Day of the Belt and Road? signed, Rosguill talk 15:09, 15 October 2026 (UTC)
Hi there,
I agree that it should have been tagged for the need of copyediting. I believe that I have learnt from this mistake as I do not believe that any page was wrongly not tagged after this conversation on my talk page. Furthermore, there were no any other issues.
Therefore, I believe that it was a correct review but I should have tagged it. It passed all the basic assesments i.e. checking for LLM, is it English, is it Vandalism.
I hope this helps. I will be happy to reply to any questions.
Cheers. Equivalent-Text2598 (talk) 16:40, 15 October 2026 (UTC)
To be honest, I'm more concerned about the rather blatant violations of WP:NPOV and WP:DUE at that page than just the weak writing. Can you comment on this aspect of the article? And can you also comment on your assessment of the subject's notability? signed, Rosguill talk 16:57, 15 October 2026 (UTC)
I did not see any issue with the WP:NPOV policy, I do now see the issue with " carry forward the civilization ". In terms of notability, it has multiple indipendant sources such as this https://www.myanmaritv.com/news/10000-oil-lamps-offering-10th-anniversary-belt-and-road-international-day and https://www.nasdaq.tv/pic/baoxiao/2026-10-02/10105.html and https://www.cnr.cn/yn/gstjyn/20231204/t20231204_526507589.shtml. Therefore notability is established.
In terms of WP:DUE I think that it does not give undue weight. It only gives one view and it is an explanation.
Therefore, I stand by my assesment that the article should have been published but, I do agree it needed tagging. Equivalent-Text2598 (talk) 17:30, 15 October 2026 (UTC)
Sorry, that's not a satisfactory answer. Both Nasdaq.tv and MyanmarITV have several red flags that suggest they are not reliable. Nasdaq.tv has no actual connection to NASDAQ, and a concerning amount of their front page is dedicated solely to coverage of Belt and Road-related press releases; the coverage in the article you cite here is also incredibly fleeting and would be poor evidence for notability even if the source were 100% reliable. Neither source has any useful WP:USEBYOTHERS that I can see in an internet search or Google Scholar, and their About pages do not provide any real transparency into their staff and editorial structure. China National Radio is a more established source, but can hardly be considered independent of the 1B1R project as a Chinese state mouthpiece. All in all, I don't think you've demonstrated enough care with reviewing articles carefully and evaluating their sources, so I'm going to have to mark this as  Not done. signed, Rosguill talk 17:43, 15 October 2026 (UTC)
These are not strong sources. This and this are routine, likely press-release-based coverage, not WP:SIGCOV. I have no idea what kind of outlet Nasdaq.tv is but it appears to have no connection to Nasdaq and it appears that all it does is publish press release-type materials about Belt and Road Day. One other issue - this article is an unattributed translation from Chinese Wikipedia. It's likely an unreviewed machine translation since it reads clunkily and not smoothly as if it were done/reviewed by a fluent speaker. (Indeed, it reads just like the translation of the zh-wiki page my browser did for me.) In general, if there are other language versions for an article you should check the oldest to see if it's an unattributed translation or if, alternately, it's better-developed than the English one, in which case you can add a template alerting editors to the opportunity to expand the English version. (You can use User:CFA/scripts/attributetranslation.js as a tool to attribute translations.) Dclemens1971 (talk) 17:44, 15 October 2026 (UTC)

I would like to help shorten the backlog, as I see it is very large. Grantened I was given this permission, I would like to help with the Geography and Weather backlog. I find myself consistently editing there, and have a decent history. If I do not get the permission, I will see if I can remove the red links under my name. I will be attempting to do this while waiting for someone to review this request. I should have most of the importaint thing done, depending on how long it takes. If it's anything like the AFC requests, It could take up to 5 buissnes days :). WXchaser (Say what?) 18:48, 10 October 2026 (UTC)

Reason for requesting new page reviewer rights:Hi sorry for being a bit early but I would like to be a permanent NPR. I meet all the criteria, and I have reviewed lots of articles. I would like to reduce the backlog. Emmanbotan🌹 (talk) 04:57, 14 October 2026 (UTC)

Requests for page mover

Page mover

[edit]

I usually edit low-to-mid traffic mainspace articles relating to Antigua and Barbuda. According to XTools, I have moved 447 pages across all namespaces. I have been moving pages since June 2021 and I have experience with both requested moves and technical requests. Given the nature of this topic (virtually always involving low-impact requests) and my multiple years of experience with page moving, having this permission would speed up my work. CROIXtalk 01:27, 30 September 2026 (UTC)

I don't know how helpful this will be to me; I recently stated this massive RfC at the WP:RFCNC(S). I do have a good understanding of how RMs work, but I don't spend much time in that space besides when it comes to school pages. Depending on the outcome of that RfC, it will be a lot of cleanup either way, and I thought these rights may be helpful. If I'm mistaken, I could understand, as I don't spend much time in these spaces. Issac I Navarro (talk) 15:37, 14 October 2026 (UTC)

I wanna make sure that people make good edits and help the encyclopedia. KNM5847478 (talk) 20:48, 12 October 2026 (UTC)

Hello, I am requesting pending changes reviewer rights because any chance I get, I try to revert bad faith edits even though I do believe that most edits are done by good faith or were simply a mistake. I will be looking forward to workloads given, as it gives me something to look forward to doing when I have free time. Thank you very much for your time! I'm an RC patroller with (kinda) close to 500 edits, and on my way to extended confirmed. I would like the pending changes reviewer permission to be able to quickly accept (or reject) recent pending changes to articles. I have quite an intricate understanding of policy, and enjoy reading up on rules. I am applying per WP:PCCRITERIA, as it states "If you meet the above criteria, then ask!", and as I do, in fact, meet those criteria. last time I requested this permission, I was denied it, with the reason being me having to little experience. I recently (ish) made my 200:th mainspace edit, so I'm back here to ask again. Thanks!

(Oh, and also, yes, most of my request is copy-pasted from last time. Hope you don't mind.) -CRR- | talk 19:36, 13 October 2026 (UTC)

Reason for requesting pending changes reviewer rights: I would like to become pending changes reviewer. My account is only 3 months old, but I have made over 1,000 mainspace edits. I understand all the policies and guidelines, and have created decent and notable articles. Emmanbotan🌹 (talk) 04:20, 14 October 2026 (UTC)

I have well understood WP:PCR and I pass WP:PCCRITERIA. I shouldn't claim that I am something special, so I rest my request for granting Admin. Whatever is decided, I would accept with good faith. Dylan Reed (Ping me) 08:12, 14 October 2026 (UTC)

I am familiar with Wikipedia policies. I have contributed greatly to the Wiki, especially in regards to pop culture and film articles. I am knowledgeable with the Wiki rules and guidelines, and I intend to support and optimize the Wiki considerably. ☼Phrasia☼ (talk) 16:59, 14 October 2026 (UTC)

If you don't mind me asking, when is an appropriate time for me to try again to where the block isn't considered or can be overlooked. ☼Phrasia☼ (talk) 16:42, 15 October 2026 (UTC)
Requests for rollback

Rollback

[edit]

I would like rollback to handle obvious vandalism more efficiently. I enjoy monitoring for spam, unconstructive edits, and talking to/notifying newer editors . I have read WP:ROLLBACK and will not use the default rollback summary on good-faith or disputed edits. Thanks. DocLG (talk) 22:47, 30 September 2026 (UTC)

I'd like to have rollback permissions so I can utilize tools like AntiVandal to help out with recent changes patrol. Justcgi (talk) 17:06, 1 October 2026 (UTC)

My reason for requesting rollback permissions is so I can make Recent Changes Patrolling easier with tools like Huggle and Interceptor instead of patrolling the old-school way. Evercool1 (talk) 06:11, 9 October 2026 (UTC)

I have been involved with RC patrolling on and off for a while now, and would like to have rollback permissions to help my antivandalism efforts, particularly with the tools that require it. smallest red boy (talk • contribs) 16:34, 11 October 2026 (UTC)

Reason for requesting rollback rights I would like to request rollback rights be better handle repeated vandalism incidents in Wikipedia articles. It will be beneficial and helpful for me to use such as Interceptor and Antivandal tools. Thank you. Kalpesh Manna 2002 (talk) 05:14, 14 October 2026 (UTC)

I became an active page watcher a month ago after learning where the “watch page” was located, and I also noticed that a lot of random and IP users vandalize wiki pages, making it harder to undo except manually. I would like to request rollback rights to make reverts easier. Obinna Tony (talk) 06:52, 14 October 2026 (UTC)

I have been editing Wikipedia for a few years now. I do some of my work on articles related to WikiProject Schools. I believe rollback right might be helpful in reverting obvious vandalism. There is often a lot going on when it comes to schools. I am not particularly technically savvy and have done most of my editing by doing everything manually. It may take me a while to learn this tool, as it did take me forever to finally start using Twinkie. So I do hope that this tool might help me work more efficiently. For AI cleanup work, what led me to apply for this was Special:Contributions/AdnanGhaffarAI. I would only use this on the most egregious cases Kowal2701 (talk, contribs) 15:20, 14 October 2026 (UTC)

Requests for temporary account IP viewer

Temporary account IP viewer

[edit]

I am requesting the Temporary account IP viewer as I do vandalism combating while I'm not editing articles. I'm interested in East Africa and most of the vandalism done on East African pages is by temporary accounts. It would be nice to know of these accounts are from the same IP so i could report to the AIV noticeboard. Brown caterpillar12 (talk) 18:17, 9 October 2026 (UTC)

Requesting TAIV -- I do AI cleanup work, which sometimes involves tracking down edits by users TA-hopping or sock farms permissions gaming, where it is easy for edits to get overlooked. I just spent an hour trying to track possible socks across several articles and this probably could have saved me time there. Gnomingstuff (talk) 05:48, 14 October 2026 (UTC)

Done, please consider getting m:GTAIV instead though Sohom (talk) 14:06, 14 October 2026 (UTC)

I patrol recent changes for vandalism from time to time, and would like to be able to view TA TP addresses in order to combat the practice that some refer to as "TA hopping" (switching between multiple TA's to avoid detection). Having this permission would make it easier for me to correctly warn and report users when needed. I hereby agree to the WMF Temporary Account IP access policy.
