Hello there, and welcome to my page!
I'm glad you stopped by. When time allows, I enjoy creating and sharing tracks of cyclones, but mostly winter storms.
Pre-Wikipedia cyclone tracking history
[edit]Beyond editing, I’ve been a passionate weather watcher for many years and have gained quite a bit of experience tracking global patterns. My earliest memories of watching storms go back to watching cyclones in the South Pacific Ocean.
I started out creating fake Atlantic hurricane seasons to practice making tracks. In the early days, I used Microsoft Paint which was a bit of a challenge for making clean lines! Since then, I’ve upgraded my track-making significantly, moving from Microsoft Paint to Paint 3D, and after I joined Wikipedia to hypotrack and lastly to TrackGen, which is the primary tool I use for my work today.
My history in Wikipedia
[edit]I’ve been a long-time reader of Wikipedia, but I finally decided to join the community on October 11, 2024.
I made my first edit on July 15, 2025, adding season summary maps to the Tropical cyclones in 2025 article. Some things were pretty easy to learn visually, such as infoboxes, links, timelines, etc. Since then, I’ve enjoyed helping out around the community.
My longest edit streak
[edit]My longest edit streak lasted for 119 days, starting on December 29, 2025 and ended on March 29, 2026.

October 2024: Created my account after years of reading.
July 15, 2025: First edit! (Added maps to Tropical cyclones in 2025).
July 19, 2025: Became an autoconfirmed user and made my tenth edit.
July 20, 2025: First Barnstar.
Late July 2025: Learned the essentials of links and infoboxes.
July 31, 2025: My first thank.
August 8, 2025: I made my hundredth edit.
August 9, 2025: My username was changed.
Dec 31, 2025: Celebrated the New Year by learning how to edit horizontal timelines!
Jan 28, 2026: Became an extended confirmed user.
Apr 25, 2026: I made my thousandth edit.
Sep 7, 2026: I created my first article.
Username
[edit]You might've noticed my username has also changed before. I originally signed up as Sim Twin Jacob, but later changed it to Hurricane Jacob. While I'm actually more interested in winter storms, 'Hurricane' just felt like the right fit for my identity here. Even though I have been interested in meteorology for years, my deep interest in meteorology really took off in 2021 when I watched Hurricanes Elsa, Grace, Ida and Sam, and I’ve been hooked on tracking major weather events ever since.
