[edit]MEIKO was developed by Crypton Future Media. She was the first Japanese synthesizer to use the Vocaloid engine developed by Yamaha. Her voice is provided by singer-songwriter Meiko Haigo.[1] In November 2004 Crypton released "MEIKO" in Japan.[2]
Characteristics
[edit]The image on the box on the original Meiko illustration is a brown-haired anime-style girl holding a microphone.[1] Meiko commonly wears a short red, sleeveless jacket and a red mini-skirt, brown boots, and a black choker. Meiko has no official age.[3] She is also often portrayed with a bottle of sake as her character item.[4] Meiko's voice is provided by singer-songwriter Meiko Haigo and is the namesake for the character.[5]
