Hi Neighbor!

I'm based on Cape Cod in Massachusetts and have been working in voice and internet communications technology for a long time. My professional background is in telephony infrastructure, SIP protocols, and real-time communications systems.

I am here primarily to contribute in two areas. The first is telecommunications and internet protocol articles, where I hope to bring some practical depth to topics around VoIP, SIP, and related IETF standards work that can sometimes be thin or outdated. The second is local coverage of the Cape Cod and Barnstable region of Massachusetts, where I have lived for 40 years.

Outside of work I am interested in cooking and Sheepadoodles, but fortunately for all, I'm not interested in cooking Sheepadoodles.

I am a participant in WikiProject Telecommunications and WikiProject Massachusetts.

IETF work

[edit]

I have been involved in IETF standards work, including as a contributor to the vCon specification for representing voice conversations as structured data. My broader interests in the IETF community include SIP, VoIP signaling, and the application of structured-data formats to real-time communications.

Articles improved

  • West Barnstable, Massachusetts — expanded with a History section, corrected factual errors, replaced circular citations with reliable sources, added images from Wikimedia Commons, and expanded the lead.
