St. Teresa of Avila Church
St. Teresa of Avila Church is a Catholic church in Bodega, California, United States. Built by shipbuilders in 1860 on land donated by Jasper O'Farrell, it is named after Spanish mystic and saint Teresa of Ávila and was dedicated in 1861. The wooden building was enlarged in 1872 by cutting it in half and constructing a new section between the two ends. Designated a California Historical Landmark, the church was the subject of a 1953 black-and-white photograph by Ansel Adams and also appeared in Alfred Hitchcock's 1963 film The Birds.Photograph credit: Frank Schulenburg
