Dfadden is the protagonist of a novel which shall never be finished, as the author is too easily distracted by such activities as contributing to the fountain of knowledge that is Wikipedia. The author who created Dfadden currently resides in Canberra, Australia, but I am frequently travelling around the country for work and leisure!
Academically and professionally, I know about psychology, sociology, communications, political science and public policy. I understand that even good policy needs to be weighed against its unintended consequences when assessing outcomes. I can also usually spot propaganda, but its becoming harder!
Most of my edits are related to geography and infrastructure, a dash of history and my aviation hobbies. I have been known to dabble in other material from time to time, much like my eclectic tastes in music!
I have been a Wikipedia editor since April 2012! Boy, have things changed in that time!
On 8 August 2014, I created my 100th article - Hotel Kurrajong
Between August 2014 and November 2021, I spent my spare time studying and was less active on Wikipedia due to time constraints, I returned to editing regularly in 2022, focussed on filling in gaps where no articles exist and maintaining articles about Australian regional infrastructure and small towns. Some of my Recent projects include:

Citation Barnstar
This award is given in recognition to Dfadden for collecting more than 64 points during the WikiProject Unreferenced articles's August 2026 backlog drive. Your contributions played a crucial role in sourcing over 7781 unsourced articles during the drive. Thank you so much for participating and helping to reduce the backlog! "Fun" facts I have learned while editing Wikipedia
The tiny rural hamlet of Ando, New South Wales was first settled by a freed Greek convict named Jigger Bulgary who was sentenced to transportation to Australia for piracy!
When a plane he was travelling on made an emergency landing at George Town Aerodrome and became boggged, Senator Charles Grant could not be seen wading through the mud with the common folk and did not disembark until some gumboots were found for him.
Not only was the pristine wilderness of Jervis Bay Territory (which is now almost entirely the Booderee National Park) almost the site of Australia's first nuclear power plant in the 1970s, leases were actually granted to American companies to build an Aluminium smelter, steelworks and even an oil refinery! I'm very glad that never happened... I like the hiking trails and white sand beaches we have there now much better.
