Petra H. Hüntemeyer
[edit]Petra H. Huentemeyer is a German-American Experimental Astrophysicist and is also a professor at Michigan Technological University. Petra H. Huentemeyer achieved her Diplom in Physics at University of Munster in 1996 before attending University of Hamburg where she obtained her PhD in Particle Physics with the dissertation on “A Determination of the Electroweak Quark Couplings Using Final State Photon Emission in Z0 Decays” in 2001 [1][2].This starts a career in Particle Physics and Astrophysics, in which she has made an impact. In her career, she has been a part of the OPAL collaboration, HiRes, and Milagro experiments and Huentemeyer served as the spokesperson for the HAWC collaboration from 2019 to 2023 [3]. Currently serving as a Distinguished Professor and the Associated Chair of the Physics Department at Michigan Technological University [4]. She is also serving as the Director of the Earth, Planetary, and Space Sciences Institute (EPSSI) [4].
