Kia ora,
My name is Kat (she/her). I am from Aotearoa New Zealand, but recently moved to London. I began editing in November 2024 as a summer intern at the Auckland War Memorial Museum Tāmaki Paenga Hira, where I was tasked with developing Wikipedia content for the Aotearoa New Zealand History Curriculum. I completed my MA in Art History in June 2025, and I am particularly passionate about feminist histories and women-focused art histories.
In 2025, I undertook a 12-week pilot project for The Fletcher Trust Archives, with the aim of making the Archive's collection more publicly accessible by uploading images from the collection with no known copyright onto Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons, and Wikipedia.
I have worked on some pages related to the local histories of Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland and Rotorua. Thus far, my main hobby has been contributing to the Wikipedia Women in Red Project by creating pages on both contemporary and historical women artists, and other notable women in Aotearoa New Zealand's history. Inspired by my travels, I would now like to expand my focus beyond Aotearoa to include global stories too.
Pages created or improved during my summer internship
