Current requests for increase in protection level

Request addition of protection to a page, or increasing the current protection level
Place requests for protection increases at the BOTTOM of this section. If you cannot find your request, check the archive of requests or the page history. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – As has repeatedly been the case, the page is under attack by a group of temp accounts that change sourced information (specifically plug listings) without sources and without comment, and ignore all invitations to discuss. , , , , .

Since the page has been haunted by similar problems for years, I suggest indefinite semi-protection. Gawaon (talk) 07:24, 1 October 2026 (UTC)

Reason: This request is for continuing the current semi-protection. Due to it facing the same problems the Maki Zen’in page was receiving (adding children and grandchildren from Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, an experimental, exploratory spin off, into the family section), which it too faces, I would appreciate if the semi-protection for the Yuta Okkotsu page was extended, or even made indefinite to prevent unproductive edits from continuing.

If this cannot be extended whilst it is still under active protection, or this should wait until after new vandalism has occurred, that is okay, but I feel this would be best to continue to preserve the integrity of the page. TheBridgeMaker (talk) 19:02, 1 October 2026 (UTC)

Please remove the picture that depicts the prophet Muhammad PBUH as pointing towards the moon. Autopatrolled

[edit]

Hi there! Please consider my request for the Autopatrolled permission. My application is purely for reducing the load on the new pages patrol backlog. My first edit was back in 2008, however it was from 2022 when I started editing in volume. I have c. 6,500 edits on English Wikipedia, and have created 86 articles and a number of redirects. None of my creations have been deleted. My understanding of Wikipedia policies and guidelines was not great at the beginning, however this has been increasing steadily over time. To support my application - please do also review my AfD participation which shows contribution to several hundred discussions. If it helps, I have 11 DYKs and have participated in two Unreferenced articles backlog drives. ResonantDistortion 23:05, 26 September 2026 (UTC)

(Non-administrator comment) +1 XTools records 86 live, non-redirect article creations and no deleted ones. I sampled RD's (permit me to call you that) recent work, including DJ Seduction, Ed Real, Pants & Corset, Resonate (album series), Guyver (DJ), The Samurai Seven, Pussy Crush, JAAW, Ellen Kent and Corvin Dalek. These are generally substantial, neutrally written and supported by appropriate independent sources; I also just marked some as reviewed myself while checking.
The only very very minor thing I saw was that an uncited family information was removed from the BLP Graeme Blick in May 2025. But that is not by any chance in hell representative of RD's current work. RD has created 29 further non-redirect articles since that correction, with no deletion or comparable patrol problem. And by the way, the eleven DYK appearances and recent sourcing work is a plus for RD because it tells us that RD is familiar with verifiability, copyright, notability and what have you. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 14:00, 28 September 2026 (UTC)
Thank you @Vanderwaalforces. Apologies about the Graeme Blick issue, there was some confusion about the family but ultimately this was caused by my misreading of a source. I've been more careful since. ResonantDistortion 16:59, 28 September 2026 (UTC)

Reason for requesting autopatrolled rights: Hi. I make articles on Samoan flora, Especially endemic flora. I have only 1 deleted article which was then remade to be good article status, Flora of Samoa with help of Marshelec. Emmanbotan (talk) 03:09, 29 September 2026 (UTC)

Thank you for your application and for your article creations. Almost all of your creations are stubs on plant species, which are generally considered to be automatically notable under WP:NSPECIES (and which pose very little burden for reviewers). These stubs provide very little perspective on how you evaluate notability outside of your primary area of expertise. If you were to expand your article creation to different topics and write a wider range of articles for us to evaluate, or if you were to participate at WP:AFD, that might provide more information for a future request.  Not done for now, however. Dclemens1971 (talk) 15:38, 29 September 2026 (UTC)

Considering my extensive work and experience as a content contributor, including 28 good articles, 13 DYKs, two featured articles, two triple crowns, and many other articles created or greatly expanded, as well as experience reviewing GA and FA nominees. Another user recently commented here that they think I should be autopatrolled. Bneu2013 (talk) 03:39, 30 September 2026 (UTC) Bneu2013 (talk) 03:39, 30 September 2026 (UTC)

Done Excellent content creation record and a review of your recent creations shows no issues. Thank you for applying! Dclemens1971 (talk) 15:03, 1 October 2026 (UTC)

@Ikan, are you familiar with the stand alone tool mentioned in Wikipedia talk:Archive.today guidance#Links to other discussions and advice? If that doesn't meet your needs maybe open a topic on that page, I might be willing to enhance it. Dw31415 (talk) 02:16, 30 September 2026 (UTC)
Very honestly: it doesn't fit my needs. I wish that I would be able to hunt for archive.today external links on other wikis; also, at many occasions it cannot find an alt, despite the alt exists (at another location, redirected). 🐠 formerly U.T. 02:31, 30 September 2026 (UTC)

Want to start with typo-fixing to get a feel for AWB, then do other things like creating talk pages and such :3 pattersonuwu njz (talk) 19:26, 29 September 2026 (UTC)

I am requesting AWB/JWB access to assist with repetitive maintenance edits such as fixing wikilinks, formatting, and other routine cleanup. I understand that I am responsible for reviewing every edit and following the AWB guidelines. I am still building my editing experience and would like to use JWB carefully for appropriate repetitive tasks. YusHau (talk) 21:05, 29 September 2026 (UTC)

I'd like to be able to help with simple requests like Wikipedia:Bot requests#Fixing the time zone and utc offset for Moroccan (and Western Saharan) places with User:Joeytje50/JWB. I've completed three approved BRFA tasks with User:DwAlphaBot and User:CutlassBot (89,530 edits). Dw31415 (talk) 01:08, 30 September 2026 (UTC)

Done on the basis of your familiarity with the (semi-)automated editing policy, as evidenced by your prior experiences with BRFAs. Keep up your good work. Staraction (talk · contribs) 07:18, 30 September 2026 (UTC)

I plan to semi-automate some typo fixes that I have already been making manually. I have completed several hundred of these edits, mainly removing incorrect spaces between the last word and the following punctuation mark.

I would like to request AWB/JWB access, as these tools would be very useful for handling this type of repetitive maintenance work more efficiently. My intended workflow is to identify the relevant cases, apply the correction, review the result, and save the edit.

I understand that I remain responsible for reviewing every edit and for following the AWB/JWB guidelines. I am still building my editing experience and intend to use JWB carefully and only for appropriate repetitive maintenance tasks. Score Beethoven (talk) 09:47, 30 September 2026 (UTC)

Extended confirmed

[edit]

I am requesting the restoration of my Extended Confirmed rights.

My previous request from September 6th wasn't approved by voorts based on generic claims ("This request seems LLM-generated to me" and "There are several AI tells in your request"), but when I explicitly asked what those tells were, no explanation or text examples were provided.

I need to state clearly again: I do not use AI. English is not my native language, and my use of dictionaries and Google Translate to verify phrasing is what triggers false positives on automated detectors. This is not the first time this has happened to me, and I face a lot of unfair suspicion on Wikipedia as a result. Ignoring a non-native speaker's explanation and leaving generic AI accusations unexplained does not align with community values.

A major reason I need this permission is to access the Content Translation tool. I have manually translated and created over 30 articles on this wiki, and not having this tool limits my ability to contribute.

I have carefully reviewed past administrator feedback regarding extended confirmed requirements after a revocation and implemented them before submitting this request. Following the expected standard, I have focused strictly on manual, constructive work in the mainspace. Since losing the permission (at around 560 edits), I have made over 570 additional manual, documented, and productive edits in the mainspace, bringing my current total to over 1,130 edits.

My recent notable contributions include researching and creating Non ædificandi from scratch and expanding Impasse Florimont, which was manually cleaned up, reviewed, and upgraded to B-Class status.

I am NOT using LLMs. I am a REAL human editor who wishes to continue contributing to the English Wikipedia, and I am asking to please restore my Extended Confirmed rights.

Thank you. The Regulator 1 (talk) 11:53, 28 September 2026 (UTC)

I rarely use LLM detectors. I'm not sharing what the tells are because then you would know how to avoid them. Another admin will evaluate this request on its merits and see if I was wrong. voorts (talk/contributions) 12:58, 28 September 2026 (UTC)
Also, you don't need XC to translate articles. You can translate to draft and then move the page to mainspace yourself or submit it through AfC. voorts (talk/contributions) 20:47, 28 September 2026 (UTC)
Can you please contribute without the use of a translation tool? Sufficient English competence is required to edit on the English Wikipedia. If your English is not good enough to write articles or talk with other editors without the use of translation tools, I would suggest editing on your native language's wiki. voorts (talk/contributions) 20:49, 28 September 2026 (UTC)
(Non-administrator comment) Based on my impressions, it looks like this user probably wrote the request by hand in their native language, and then used an AI translation tool to translate it to English. Maayaaaaa (talk) 13:39, 28 September 2026 (UTC)

New page reviewer

[edit]

I have now done quite a lot on AFC and reviewed quite a few articles, showing that I understand content policies. Furthermore, if you look at my interactions, you can see that I have always acted civilly and resolved any disputes. From my Counter Vandalism Work, you can see that I always inform a user when I revert their edit; the same happens with AFC (through the AFC helper).

I would primarily like this role as a counter-vandalism tool so that I can remove pages that are obviously vandalism, as I think that this is an important thing to do. I would also review other pages in order to help ease the backlog.

I would finally like to thank anyone who reviews this request.

Cheers,

I did very little NPP reviewing, but I did pull several articles out of the NPP feed during other normal editing activities (i.e. while editing other articles and looking at linked articles, or via related edits on my Watchlist). Page mover

[edit]

I am a probationary AFC reviewer, and a moderately experienced speedy delete requester, page mover would help me draftify articles that do need them (small, low amount and reused sources). shane (talk to me if you want!) 19:31, 28 September 2026 (UTC)

When requested for draftification, I generally want the requester to first have permanent NPR permissions, rather than temporary AfC. WP:R2 is a straightforward criterion for admins to check, so for occasional use there isn't much need to have page mover, and your most recent draftifications needing R2 have been one each in September, April, March, January. I see you have installed MoveToDraft, so I recommend just using that for now.  Not done. ~ Jenson (SilverLocust 💬) 20:41, 29 September 2026 (UTC)

I would like page mover rights to draftify weak new articles created in mainspace that still have potential for improvement, especially when doing NPP. AriuCH (talk) 21:20, 28 September 2026 (UTC)

Not done, not enough experience with moving (10 distinct moves, not counting simultaneously moving the talk page as separate) and only recently acquired temporary NPR permissions. (I recommend the WP:MOVETODRAFT user script, which will automatically nominate the redirect for speedy deletion under WP:R2 and notify the creator, after also checking whether it's within the recommended time per WP:DRAFTNO and WP:NPPHOUR.) ~ Jenson (SilverLocust 💬) 20:01, 29 September 2026 (UTC)

I usually edit low-to-mid traffic mainspace articles relating to Antigua and Barbuda. According to XTools, I have moved 447 pages across all namespaces. I have been moving pages since June 2021 and I have experience with both requested moves and technical requests. Given the nature of this topic (virtually always involving low-impact requests) and my multiple years of experience with page moving, having this permission would speed up my work. Pending changes reviewer

[edit]

Hello! I have been wanting for a long time to be a pending changes reviewer. I do a lot of AfC work and some GAN work. I can tell if a edit is good or not. If there are any questions, feel free to ping me or something. Robloxguest3 (talk) 22:19, 29 September 2026 (UTC)

I think Robloxguest3 is a good candidate for pending changes reviewer. Solid decisions at AfC. You never notice it because there is nothing wrong with it. --Guy Macon (talk) 00:26, 30 September 2026 (UTC)

Hello I would like to have pending changes reviewer rights, I routinely edit on my account with 500 edits in the past 3 weeks. I also have never participated in vandalism and routinely make productive edits. I have read Policy On Vandalism, Policy On Copyright, and I understand that I must obtain a neutral point of view and the guideline on reviewing. I request these services to help me expand my reach and find new ways of editing and helping Wikipedia. My limited services right now mainly include linking articles and welcoming new users. Thank you for your time and generosity! EzYop (talk) 01:58, 30 September 2026 (UTC)

I sometimes run into articles with pending changes while monitoring recent changes, and it could be helpful to be able to accept or decline them. I already have Rollback rights. Thanks. PeterCooperJr (talk) 02:12, 30 September 2026 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Ivebeenhacked. I have about 16,900+ edits and am familiar with the Wikipedia policies highlighted in WP:PCCRITERIA. I edit almost everyday in Wikipedia by correctly reverting vandalism, disruptive edits, and am competent in correcting incorrect information in articles. I'm confident I can be a great reviewer. Reason for requesting rollback rights: I would like to use huggle to revert vandalism in a quicker manner as i find wp:twinkle a bit too slow sometimes and would like too see if I would prefer huggle or other similar editing tools. Jabba550  | ✉ in solidarity 13:52, 18 September 2026 (UTC)

Reason for requesting rollback rights: I’ve been an RC patroller for better part of a year now. Rollback rights will help me counter vandalism more effectively, especially when I have to undo contributions of editors with a disruptive editing history, editors with single-purpose COI accounts, and editors who have been blocked. I’d also like to use the suite of tools that rollback rights come with including CVPI and Huggle. I will not use rollback rights to settle content disputes (I don’t get into many either way). I hope that my main space contributions so far, and my experience with the platform + RC patrol will attest to my intentions. Thanks! Baberoothless (talk) 15:46, 25 September 2026 (UTC)

I'd like rollback rights in order to make recent change patrolling easier with tools such as Interceptor. Celjski Grad (talk) 16:59, 25 September 2026 (UTC)

I am planning to use WP:Interceptor and I believe rollback would make reverting vandalism more efficient. I believe that I meet the recommended (edited) criteria listed above. Thank you for processing my request! 16dvnk (talk) 05:20, 26 September 2026 (UTC)

Previously had this as a temporary right for fighting vandalism with Huggle. Had a bit of a wiki-break but keen to revisit this. Thanks! sksatsuma 14:19, 26 September 2026 (UTC)

Reason for requesting rollback rights Hi, I would like the rollbacker right to more efficiently fight vandalism. As it is required for many counter-vandalism tools such as Huggle. I have experience in Recent Changes patrol. I also have moderation experience elsewhere. I am requesting rollback rights So that AI Model articles can be as high quality as possible CharlieRidesRollerCoasters (talk) 13:45, 30 September 2026 (UTC)

(non-administrator comment) Rollback is for more efficiently reverting vandalism and access to more advanced anti-vandalism tools. It is not for improving articles, nor any "AI Model articles". Thanks. 16dvnk (talk) 08:21, 1 October 2026 (UTC)

I would like rollback to handle obvious vandalism more efficiently. I enjoy monitoring for spam, unconstructive edits, and talking to/notifying newer editors . I have read WP:ROLLBACK and will not use the default rollback summary on good-faith or disputed edits. Thanks. DocLG (talk) 22:47, 30 September 2026 (UTC)

Hello again! My name is LuigiMcpe4549. I would like to request rollback rights. That is because I have done some good edits and revert some vandalism on Wikipedia. I think that it is useful in case of crazy vandalism. It's ok if my application is denied again like last time. Cheers! :) LuigiMcpe4549 (talk) 15:06, 1 October 2026 (UTC)

I'd like to have rollback permissions so I can utilize tools like AntiVandal to help out with recent changes patrol. Justcgi (talk) 17:06, 1 October 2026 (UTC)

Temporary account IP viewer

[edit]

While doing recent changes patrolling, I've occasionally come across multiple changes to the same page from different temporary accounts, and thought it might be helpful to be able to determine if they were from the same IP in order to properly report them. I spend quite some time on recent changes patrolling. There have been instances where I noticed a pattern of similar edits repeatedly being done by different temporary accounts. Just recently saw a similar pattern which was also block evasion. I think this ability would be very useful in even better reporting and countering vandalism. — Saadrafiq4 (talk) 14:19, 29 September 2026 (UTC)

When I look through recent changes I sometimes see multiple TAs vandalising a page in a similar manner; this right would be helpful to properly report them. I agree to use it in accordance with the Foundation's guidelines. – a wondrous raven (talk) 05:29, 30 September 2026 (UTC)

I do a good amount of vandalism reverting, which some of the vandals that I deal with are multiple different temporary accounts vandalising pages in short periods of time. It would be nice to know if they are using the same IP address, so that why I can appropriately report the vandals to AIV. I promise that I will not inappropriately use the tool. MathMan4 (talk) 18:21, 30 September 2026 (UTC)

I have been editing here for 20 years with a clean record. Nowadays, I mostly work in anti-vandalism and anti-UPE. In line with that, I do a lot of work at SPI. I feel that this right would help make sure that my SPI and AIV filings are accurate before submitting them. I assure you that this right won't be used for any purpose that is contrary to the terms. I'm surprised that you didn't have TAIV yet. (Read: strong support) 海盐沙冰 / aka irisChronomia / Talk / Uploads 19:13, 30 September 2026 (UTC)

I'm experienced in reverting & reporting vandals, so I think having this right would allow me to investigate more edits done by the same vandal (or disruptive editor), or maybe reporting multiple TAs of the same person. Jako96 (talk) 13:51, 1 October 2026 (UTC)

I have brought a number of sockpuppet investigations, and also been involved with some LTAs using a set of IP ranges. I think one of these has returned, but can't bring informed AIV or SPI cases as I cannot tell which of the socks this relates to. Likely to be useful in future SPI and LTA abuse at AfD too.
