Bitcoincloud is an interactive artwork developed in late 2010 by the artist collective Artistic Bokeh that thematized the cryptocurrency Bitcoin. The work was exhibited at the Museum of Applied Arts, Vienna, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Vojvodina, the Vienna Künstlerhaus and presented at the International Symposium on Electronic Art in [Vancouver]. In 2012 Bitcoincloud received a special mention for the Contaminate NYC Prize for Emerging Art.[1]

History

Bitcoincloud was developed in late 2010, conceptualized by artist and researcher Matthias Tarasiewicz and produced in collaboration with Max Gurresch and engineer and artist Damian Stewart.

The project was first featured at the Vienna Künstlerhaus alongside works by Joseph Beuys, Aram Bartholl, The Yes Men and etoy as part of the exhibition "METAmART: Art and Capital".
