An Introduction

Oh, hello. Sorry about this mess; im afraid that past me had a little bit too much fun. I would clean it up, but I would rather it stay around, both as a warning to myself to not be like this, and as a prank on any poor soul who happens across it.

I do small edits, typically just grammar fixes or slight tweaks to make the prose flow better. While I typically read (and edit) articles on science and math, this place is notorious for leading into unexpected places. Thus you may find one of my edits on basically anything.

On those rare occasions when I actually change what an article says, I will do my best to not let any personal biases go too far, although they may still affect what I do. One of the most impactful of these (full disclosure) is the planet vs. dwarf planet/vs. sub-brown dwarf debate, where I very much fall on the side of “if it looks like a planet, its a planet”. I will never directly change anything to say this, as this point of view is at least not the public consensus among the experts of the field and is certainly just personal opinion on my part. I will, however, sometimes change language that seems “demeaning” of these “non-planet” worlds to sound more neutral, such as changing “demoted” to “redefined” when discussing what happened to Pluto, changing “the solar system has 8 planets” to “the solar system has 8 major planets”, and adding “/rogue planets” when discussing what are sometimes called “sub-brown dwarfs”.

If you, reader, find any part of this editing style objectionable, feel free to revert any edits I make, give me a TED talk on my talk page, or otherwise let me know. I am certainly open to the fact that I make bad calls, and am willing to be convinced by argument.

Anyway, here is probably where I should put an about me; however, I think the above prose probably already gives too good an impression of what I am like, so I will refrain.
