G'day

[edit]

I'm David. I'm a structural biologist and beamline scientist based in the UK (formerly in Melbourne, Australia).

I have a PhD in protein crystallography and work in synchrotron science (specifically MX beamlines). My goal here is to help improve the accuracy of articles in these fields.

A note on communication: I have diagnosed Dyslexia as well as an undisclosed neurodivergence. This combination means that sometimes whole words might disappear from my sentences or I might miss other errors. I work hard to self-correct, and through iteration—particularly when I get into hyperfocus—I produce high-quality work. However, if you spot an error I missed, please feel free to fix it. I welcome the polish.

Language & Origin

[edit]

I am originally from Portugal and prefer reading and writing in European Portuguese rather than Brazilian Portuguese.

Current Projects & Disclosures

[edit]

I am currently working on the following drafts via the Articles for Creation process. I have a Conflict of Interest regarding these topics and will not publish them myself without independent review.

I am also a Town Councillor for Didcot, Oxfordshire. I will declare this interest if I ever edit pages related to local politics, though my focus here is science.
