Template:Wikidata Human Gender Indicators

20.42%

Template documentationviewedithistorypurge

Purpose

This inline template shows the percent of the English Wikipedia’s biographies that are about women, according to the Wikidata Human Gender Indicators (WHGI) project. It was created for Women in Red to make this number consistent and easily updateable across the project pages. From March 2021 to June 2025, the figure was drawn from Humaniki, WHGI's replacement. Since September 2025, statistics have been derived via QLever.

How it works

This template depends on an editor manually entering the numbers after running the query and using a spreadsheet to calculate the percentage. There is no actual connection to the raw data.

Usage

There is only one parameter:

• date – any text here will show the latest update date. If left blank, it will show no date.

Examples

Entering no parameter, like this:

{{WHGI}}

simply shows the latest number: 20.42%

To add the latest date, set date equal to "yes" (or any other text):

{{WHGI|date=yes}}

yields: 20.42% as of 3 October 2026
