Hello, Mentee, and welcome to Wikipedia. I'm Mentor Name and I've volunteered to be your Wikipedia mentor. I'm here for you whenever you need help with Wikipedia. It's great to have you on board to help create this online encyclopedia.
To help you get started, your homepage has a brief tutorial. If you need some ideas about what kind of things need doing, try the "Suggested edits" module top left on your homepage, or the Task Center.
Help is available: as your Mentor, you can always find me listed in the "Mentorship module" bottom right on your homepage; there are also additional help links there. This template offers a brief mentor self-intro and welcome that mentors may use to welcome their mentees who have already received a standard welcome from another user.

Parameters
[edit]There are four named parameters, all optional:
|also=– alters text to...and I'd also like to welcome you to Wikipedia; intended for cases where you are not the first welcomer (default:...and welcome to Wikipedia)|heading=no– suppresses the automatic section heading|headtext=...– alters the heading to the given value (default:Welcome!)|customend=...– Adds a custom ending to replace the default,And once again, welcome to Wikipedia!
Auto-detection of Wiki Ed student enrollment
[edit]The template automatically detects if a newly registered user happens to be a Wiki Ed student; that is, if they are enrolled in a university course associated with the Wikipedia Education program. If so, it replaces the Suggested edits/Task center sentence with the following text instead:
The student training modules have detailed information about editing Wikipedia, and your Wiki Ed expert, Sage (Wiki Ed) is available to support you and answer your questions.
The name of the Wiki Ed expert in the message will change automatically, depending on who the assigned expert is for the student's enrolled course.
