Wiki Ed students
[edit source]For Wiki Ed students, that is, users that are enrolled in a university course associated with the Wikipedia:Education program, the paragraph that normally would direct them to the Task center makes no sense; students must follow their university-assigned coursework, including the Wikipedia articles assigned to them.
Wiki Ed students are detected automatically by the template, and the Suggested edits/Task center statement is replaced with a brief paragraph as follows:
- I see that you are a Wiki Education program student. Good luck in your course! Feel free to contact your Wiki Ed expert, Example (Wiki Ed) for questions about your assigned article, the training modules, or general questions about Wikipedia.
The course and Wiki Ed expert links in the message will be adjusted automatically, depending on the student's enrolled course and the assigned Wiki ed expert for that course. The link to the Wiki Ed expert is a no-ping link.
In addition, if you use template parameter |project= on the Talk page of a Wiki Ed student, the introductory text "Based on your contributions..." before the WikiProject link changes to "Based on your course". Use of the |project= parameter is recommended, if there is a WP:WikiProject that corresponds with the subject of their course. You can click (or mouse over) the 'your course' link when previewing the template on their Talk page to see what course they are enrolled in.
Image values
[edit source]For parameter |image=, the following images and collages are available, using the |image= value shown below each one:
- cookies
- fruit
- globe
- kitten
- library
- tea
Collages – click the |image= value below each collage for a larger view:
Default captions – override these defaults via |caption=Your caption text here :
|image=cookies– Have a plate of cookies!|image=fruit– Although some prefer welcoming newcomers with cookies, I find fruit to be a healthier alternative.
|image=globe– (none; image of Wikipedia puzzle globe only)|image=kitten– Welcome!|image=library– When adding information, please try to WP:CITE a source for each statement whenever possible!|image=tea– A cup of hot tea to welcome you!
The default caption for all collages (except screen) is an invitation to join the corresponding WikiProject. For example, for sports it is:
|image=sports– Consider joining WikiProject Sports.
The default caption for |image=screen is – Consider joining WikiProjects Film and Television.
