Copyvio

I have reverted the article to this revision from January 15, 2007. The series of edits made by User:Kacex on February 1st which have made up the bulk of the article since then are, in addition to being more suitable for a game review than an encyclopedia article, entirely ripped from the Ys I page at The Legacy of Ys, and are a copyright violation. Plot differences

There are some differences in plot and name for different consoles - for example, the Sega Master System has the protagonist as "Aron Christian", who was washed ashore by a hurricane, but versions called "Ancient Land of Ys" have Arick (a local) as the protagonist. Move to Ys: Ancient Ys Vanished

I don't think it's ever been officially called Ys I: Ancient Ys Vanished. LaserMoai (talk) 09:29, 22 October 2025 (UTC)

I think the official title of the game is just Ys or イース in Japanese kana. As far as I know, "Ancient Ys Vanished" or "Ancient Ys Vanished: Omen" is the title of the story within the game, but it's not officially used in documentations when referring to the game itself. Considering moving this to Ys (video game) and Ys II: Ancient Ys Vanished – The Final Chapter to Ys II. Jonny2x4 (talk) 22:06, 31 July 2026 (UTC)

Actually, yeah, good point. This is probably an alternative title based on the name of Adol's travelogue.

– Thanks to this suggestion, we had a discussion on the Falcom Wiki, and we agree that Ancient Ys Vanished: Omen and Ancient Ys Vanished: The Final Chapter are most likely just alternative titles of the games.
