Requested move 13 October 2026
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: not moved. Alternate proposal of "Vittel, Vosges" didn't gain enough traction to be considered. (closed by non-admin page mover) Jeffrey34555 (talk) 04:23, 25 October 2026 (UTC)
Vittel → Vittel, France – For disambiguation with Vittel (water), which receives more page views and is well known. ~2026-54978-02 (talk) 13:50, 13 October 2026 (UTC) — Relisting. Thanks! —1isall (talk | contribs) 13:55, 20 October 2026 (UTC)
- Comment Vittel, Vosges would be the preferred title per WP:PLACEDAB. 162 etc. (talk) 17:07, 13 October 2026 (UTC)
- Weak support Vittel, Vosges, the place has 484 views but the water has 818[] even though the place is the original use it doesn't seem primary. Crouch, Swale (talk) 19:40, 13 October 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose Vittel, France, on WP:PLACEDAB grounds. Oppose move per WP:LTS (and, secondarily, because the water article is a sad little stub) and suggest creating Vittel (disambiguation) and linking it at the top of the article. Moscow Mule (talk) 02:11, 16 October 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose as per above comment Equivalent-Text2598 (talk) 14:03, 20 October 2026 (UTC)
- Relisting comment: Vittel, Vosges, or not? Thanks! —1isall (talk | contribs) 13:55, 20 October 2026 (UTC)
- Note: WikiProject Cities and WikiProject France have been notified of this discussion. Thanks! —1isall (talk | contribs) 13:56, 20 October 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose per Moscow Mule. FromCzech (talk) 09:15, 21 October 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose. As the water is named after the town it's more likely to be of greater importance over time. WP: PRIMARYTOPIC And there is already a link to Vittel (water) on the second sentence. I think having a hatnote at the top of the page would benefit those looking for the brand more then moving. ⌨️ ConstructLoader_talk 16:20, 22 October 2026 (UTC)
