Request for review and removal of “alleged inappropriate comments” sentence under BLP
[edit]Dear editors,
I would like to request review of the following sentence in the article:
“He was said to make some alleged inappropriate comments.”
(Reference [21])
After checking the citation, there appear to be several issues that may put this statement in conflict with Wikipedia’s Biographies of Living Persons (BLP) policy:
• The phrasing is vague and speculative (“was said to”, “alleged inappropriate comments”)
• No details, context, direct quotes, or specifics are provided
• The statement may give undue weight to an unclear or minor incident
• The referenced source appears to be an aggregator page, and I was unable to locate a verifiable version of the original Toronto Sun article
• Without an accessible, reliable, and independent source, the claim is effectively unverifiable
• BLP policy requires that negative or potentially harmful content must be supported by high-quality, clearly verifiable sourcing and written with precision and neutrality
Because of these concerns, I respectfully request that editors consider:
- Removing the sentence entirely due to lack of verifiable sourcing and potential BLP violation, or
- Rewriting it to accurately and neutrally reflect what the source actually states, provided a reliable version of the source can be located.
Thank you for your time and assistance. ~2025-38279-61 (talk) 05:48, 4 December 2025 (UTC)
