Cholera, the disease?

[edit]

"They live in Texas for a while but find out the river is infected with cholera, the disease."

[edit]

I just finished watching back-to-back "episodes" of the miniseries "True Women". Wanting to find out WHAT disease the Yankee Officer gave to Cherokee, I came to the Wikipedia page of the movie, to find a LOT !!!! left OUT of the plotline summary ! Coughing fits with blood was typically referred to in those days as Consumption (i.e., Tuberculosis), but it's never explicitly named in dialog, so I left it as "repertory illness" in my plot updates, which are now divided into Parts 1 & 2. Not having read the book, I can't reliably list all Plot differences between Book and Film. But just reading the prior version showed me that the prior editor(s) wrote the Book version, as there were significant differences, which are now remedied. Hope that helps. ~<}:^> GreyElf (talk) 04:40, 12 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
