Expand upon the approximated percentage of trans people to match the latest research, which indicates the percentage might be higher as indicated by papers focusing on demographic groups with highest likelihood of having acceptance and knowledge of the concept of "being transgender". Namely, between young adults this number is reported to be as high as 2.87-3.52%.

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want made. Please detail the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Pyrrhic victor (talk) 16:50, 14 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Change the chart 'Suicidal thoughts and attempts by gender affirmation milestones' to make it more clear that these stats are percentages rather than plain numbers?

[edit]

That's all! The original paper put them as plain numbers as well, but I think it's safe to assume that these stats are indeed percentages and not like, the number of trans people that have ever experienced whatever value is shown or how many times a trans person will experience something Claudius-the-cloud (talk) 23:40, 13 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

"some seek medical treatments"

[edit]

The use of the word "some" in the first sentence of the third paragraph minimizes the importance of gender-affirming care to the transgender experience. While not everyone who falls under the trans umbrella may experience gender dysphoria and undergo medical transition, the current phrasing makes it seem like a small and non-essential aspect. Virtually all gender dysphoric individuals will desire gender-affirming care, and some definitions of transgender only include those such individuals. At minimum, the word "some" should be removed with the new sentence becoming "Many transgender people experience gender dysphoria and seek medical treatments such as hormone replacement therapy, gender-affirming surgery, or psychotherapy." Ideally, the whole paragraph should be reworked to express the significance of gender-affirming care as that is the single most important issue affecting transgender people today. ~2026-50048-19 (talk) 10:04, 16 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

I agree that there word "some" is redundant here and I've gone ahead and removed it. –RoxySaunders 🏳️‍⚧️ (talk • stalk) 13:53, 16 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
