Minimum requirements for Core64 and CorePure64?

[edit]

I am having trouble finding sources for the minimum requirements for Core64 and CorePure64. Can anyone find a good source?

The AMD Opteron 140 Socket 940 (2003) was the first AMD64 processor. It used DDR1 memory. The smallest ever DDR1 RAM sticks were 64 Mbytes, made with 8 of the first DDR SDRAM chips (64 Mbits). So if any source lists lower requirements than that I would very much like to see what CPU and RAM they tested that on. --Guy Macon (talk) 00:45, 21 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

I don't think you can find more sources than official forum. You can use qemu to test how much ram it needs to run. You can also use Linux kernel boot parameter mem=2G to limit ram that is used by Linux distribution.
When Tiny Core Linux run with minimal ram, it doesn't means that OS will run stable with many programs. But there's zram than can increase ram to some extend. When you boot TCL it use only small amount of ram for zram, but you can change it with zramctl (you find it in util-linux.tcz).
TCL 15x86-64 most probably will boot with all 64-bit CPUs with 64 MB ram, but it doesn't means it will works without problems. And I don't talk about computers with swap file on HDD. I am talking about diskless computers. ~2026-57812-58 (talk) 18:53, 31 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
