Having an example image

- Other phobia pages, most relatedly thalassophobia, contain example images that act as triggers. If other pages are like that then should we not also have this page include an example image? It would make Wikipedia more consistent.
- Alternatively, we could go over to the thalassophobia page and protest the inclusion of that image. Pie GGuy (talk) 20:20, 9 November 2023 (UTC)

This condition does not exist
[edit]The first reference is merely a High School paper. The second is by a therapist, but they state it is not confirmed by research and has only anecdotal internet comments to go by.|
The other references are not about this condition in particular.
Internet chatter has magnified a vaguely creepy feeling into a psychological ailment with a legitimate-sounding name, but it's just the internet being the internet.
SUBMECHANOPHOBIA IS NOT A THING.
If I'm wrong, let's see some legitimate peer-reviewed research added to the article.
I submit this article should be deleted or drastically reworded to emphasize it as pseudo-science. ~2026-42308-99 (talk) 01:51, 9 August 2026 (UTC)
- It is a real phobia, it triggers the fear of water submerged man-made objects and it should not be deleted. 1Ink (talk) 03:57, 21 August 2026 (UTC)
