Hello. I Made an edit to the SIOUXSIE SIOUX page stating that 'like her brother she is a fan of Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club. The edit was removed because the edit was unsourced. I Got this info from the following interview in THE DAILY TELEGRAPH news paper dated 25/10/2003 (https://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/music/3605285/In-black-and-white.html) and also via an interview in UNCUT Magazine in September 2007 (https://wholehoggblog.wordpress.com/tag/siouxsie-sioux/). Please can someone put in my edit as I think this is relevant information about the artist. I Do not know how to ad reference to my edits so can someone do it for me please?

There's been some back and forth over which occupations to list in the lead. Imo, per MOS:ROLEBIO, singer and possibly songwriter seems to be the most appropriate. She doesn't seem to be widely known as a record producer. FMSky (talk) 15:16, 5 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
Let's remove producer from the occupation lists. The literature doesn't describe her as such. It's apparently a construction that came from Carliertwo adding up various album credits in 2021 to arrive at a novel conclusion. I don't think it's appropriate. Elaborating on my edit comments: MOS:ROLEBIO is worth reviewing here, and calling out "Incidental and non-noteworthy roles (i.e. activities that are not integral to the person's notability) should usually not be mentioned in the lead paragraph." Singing is what Siouxsie is notable for. I wouldn't strongly object to songwriting, although noting that her songwriting credits are almost always just shared amongst the band. Producer is out of place and merely incidental; notably, I'm not aware of her producing anything for other artists so it's not like an Eno or Cale, and not something discussed in sources. As for musician, this is also out of place. Yes, she has very occasionally been credited with playing instruments, but again this isn't what gets discussed in sources unless to note how unusual it is for her to play on recordings. The closest parallel that comes to mind is John Lydon, who can play various instruments but has very rarely done so live or on studio recordings. CAVincent (talk) 19:45, 5 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

Whatever, she co-produced all her albums (bar her solo album), she is credited as such each time in the sleeve notes. Her biographer Mark Paytress claims she was physically active with the recording desk in studio and gave ideas in terms of sounds. Her second band the Creatures were a duo and some of their records like Eraser Cut were produced by themselves, so two people only behind the desk, she was one of those two. Robert Smith never co-produced out of the Cure and he is a producer. Same thing for Madonna indeed. Carliertwo (talk) 01:13, 8 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
Those other pages are their own thing. We should decide this one based on policy, not on comparison to other pages which have different factors and may even be wrong. The occupation of "producer" is usually referring to those who produce music for others. I had done a mistake when editing on 15 May 2026: I had erroneously put back online an obsolete version, of the article from 500 edits ago before the last edit.
So I put back online the last right version before this unlogical edit. No archivetoday link from year 2026 has been added since last week.
The old archive links recorded years ago are clean and are still allowed. The community has not yet decided to order the erase of all the archivedate links recorded years ago, as those ancient links are not dirty. Carliertwo (talk) 23:41, 15 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Some of the more colourful parts of this page notably about her early life are sourced as coming from a William Shaw article. There seems to be no link available to the original article but I found a couple of personal pages that reproduce it fully and they are identical. https://www.untiedundone.com/101705c.html and http://www.thebansheesandothercreatures.co.uk/haipress.htm. I found what seems to be OR for example it says that the sexual assault was ignored by police. This is not what the article says, the actual paragraph says
"At the age of nine, Susan and a friend were sexually assaulted. When they told adults what had happened the police were called, and Susan was taken to see a police doctor who examined her; but her family quickly swept the fuss under the carpet - it was another undiscussible item. Presumably that was the moment that Siouxsie started to acquire that total disrespect for adulthood and authority that she exuded in later years?"
