Base area

1221 can't be right - what is the correct value?

Presumably it's given in ref 5, i.e.:

I checked the cited source and I can't find such numbers in my 2007 edition of the book, but that value was obviously wrong. Since we know the length of the sides of the base, anyone can easily calculate the correct value. --WANAX (talk) 22:51, 5 July 2015 (UTC)

No, 40 meters is not wrong, but that statement of the trench dimensions is misleading. 40 meters was the approximate width of the trench from wall to wall. You're thinking of the east-west extent of the trench. (750 meters is, properly speaking, not its total length but rather its north-south extent.) Main image is misleading.

The main image of this article is going to be the first thing a reader notices when searching or reading an article and thus should be representative of what the subject is. The main image is at such an angle where it unintentionally looks many times smaller than the actual thing via an accidental optical illusion.

The photo is no doubt impressive but it fails to represent the subject. OohLookAtMe (talk) 19:37, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
