It appears that this article was created back in 2006 in what was an incomplete attempt at translating the French version. Since then the French article has also seen massive improvements. I am going to begin work on attempting to fix up the place and finish the translation that is now 18 years old. Just wanted to drop a notice as per WP:Translate. Feel free to help

@Willthehelpfuleditor What this article desperately needs are WP:BLP-good WP:RS. An en-WP BLP, in this day and age, is supposed to be a summary of the independent WP:RS it cites. Anything else is secondary from the WP-pov and very possibly a WP:BLP violation. To put it another way, this article currently sucks. 100% agreed in every single way. Honestly that was five hours of moving stuff an editing the translated version yesterday, so that is my plan for working on it today. They do have a lot of good sources so it should all be cleared from any WP:POV stuff (which I wouldn't have and would just be from the French editors - however they do have plenty of WP:RS content). I have gone through their sources and it is a direct summary of the RS is cites so I'll be going through to backup everything and get this up to good WP:BLP status. It honestly is a total mess of an article, so yesterday was a good first step and hopefully today should be getting us closer to a decent status! On the plus-side, I don't think there's any doubt this guy is notable. Sources probably exists, but one will perhaps have to go beyond google to find good ones, perhaps even WP:OFFLINE. - Also just already noting that the section beginning with: Throughout Jean Plantureux’s 50-year career is a bit iffy imo and while directly translated from the French page is certainty raising my eyebrows as a possible WP:NPOV deviation so I'll also get that handled/rewritten. I am not done with this yet, im still translating from the french page

but i had some stuff to do, will finish this up today. Also Plantu is comming to my school next weekend, and i have arranged to have coffee with him. During this time i will ask him to aprove the latest version of the wikipedia page, and see if he has any comments to make about it.
