Pantera 1987-2003 lineup, currently available on commons

The policy on the criteria for non-free content states: Non-free content is used only where no free equivalent is available, or could be created, that would serve the same encyclopedic purpose. The article uses a non-free promotional photo (at the time of writing this); however, this can be replaced by an image on Commons (pictured) which is suitable for the article. Merger images have been done before on articles, particularly Iron Maiden. As of writing this, I have boldly changed it myself per WP:NFC and the above. Dom/Hollow

I've been working on Hollow's article, and am thinking of making a section for Dom/Hollow. It's one of Pantera's most played songs live and is included on the live album Official Live: 101 Proof, so I think it's notable enough, but am conflicted on adding a section to Domination's article. I think a section, on both pages, would be fine. It really is how the band has played the songs for a number of years. You're correct that it doesn't have enough sources for its own article, but mentions/sections on both pages would suffice. Xanarki (talk) 02:40, 12 August 2025 (UTC)

Genre in infobox

I removed the material identifying Ola Englund and Kayla Kent as musicians who were allegedly "on the list" for the Pantera reunion. The primary issue is the sourcing. The two citations used for the Kayla Kent claim are not independent corroboration of the underlying information. Both articles are reporting on the same YouTube video in which Kent discusses her own alleged consideration for the position. Thus, while the publications themselves are separate, they are not independent sources for the claim; both ultimately rely on Kent's own account. The wording in the article also previously stated that "Phil Anselmo later revealed" that these musicians were on the list. The cited sources do not establish that Anselmo publicly revealed this information. They report Kent's account of what she says Anselmo told her privately. That is materially different from independent confirmation by Anselmo, Pantera, its management, or another person directly involved in selecting the reunion lineup. More broadly, the information appears to give undue weight to a peripheral and ultimately inconsequential aspect of the reunion. Neither Englund nor Kent became part of the reunion lineup, and the fact that other guitarists would have been considered during a selection process is already implicit in the fact that Wylde was selected as the replacement for Dimebag Darrell. Naming individual people who were allegedly considered adds little to the encyclopedic account of Pantera's reformation absent substantial independent coverage establishing their consideration as significant. I therefore don't think the issue is whether Kent's or Englund's accounts are necessarily false. The issue is whether these particular claims have sufficient independent sourcing and encyclopedic significance to warrant inclusion in the Pantera article. If independent, substantive sources are available that establish their consideration as a significant part of the reunion's history, I would be open to reconsidering the removal.
