Pachycondyla was recently split into 19 genera: Austroponera, Bothroponera, Brachyponera, Buniapone, Ectomomyrmex, Euponera, Fisheropone, Hagensia, Mayaponera, Megaponera, Mesoponera, Neoponera, Ophthalmopone, Pachycondyla, Paltothyreus, Parvaponera, Pseudoneoponera, Pseudoponera and Rasopone. I am writing a little article about large and small bees compared to large and small ants. I got here from Dinoponera § Size:

The only other ants with a worker caste approaching this size are Paraponera clavata (the bullet ant) and the larger Pachycondyla such as P. crassinoda, P. impressa and P. villosa.

Think that correspondingly this article should have some mention that there are big ants in Pachycondyla. GeeBee60 (talk) 17:54, 20 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
