Largest catchment area?

[edit]

It appears that Owasco Lake does not have the largest drainage basin of the Finger Lakes, for instance eyeballing this here https://www.fllt.org/maps-the-finger-lakes-watersheds/

I wonder if what was meant was something like "the biggest catchment area versus volume?" because the claim was made in context of water quality, so if it has less volume to dilute then that would make sense.

I'm not going to add a "citation needed" since unless I am reading my cite pretty wrongly then any cite that Owasco Lake has the largest catchment area is likely to have been taken from this page itself. ~2026-20425-44 (talk) 16:53, 2 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
